1. Amazing Album & Film - Having listened to and loved the album prior to watching the film, the film made the experience even better. I can see why it's breaking a lot of records in Japan. My only wish was that the Apple Music version with the videos were available to purchase too. Ok, another wish is that it included the two bonus tracks that are part of the limited edition CD. Will definitely be getting the film in Blu-ray and/or iTunes movie when it's released.

1. What the what?! - Just found them because of another channel on YouTube - this crazy guy who challenges bass players around the world (another story for another time). So, I followed the bass player to Band-Maid's channel. Didn't know what to check out; saw that THRILL had something like M views. Wow. Not only can they play, but there's something really cool about how the Japanese lyrics fit the music. I don't even want the translation. They can all play, and the vocals are so smooth. There's power without strain. Anyway, I bought the whole album...

2. New Obsession - I found Band-Maid by accident and i will say that it was a great accident. I wave the flag of the band everyday. Band-Maid has everything - every member brings thier particular talent to the table and make sure it hits in all the right ways. "Thrill" was my introduction to the band, wow what a song. I soon hunted down other entries and was not disappointed. Do your ears a favor and give them the gift of one of the best bands out there.

3. Best band I’ve heard in years! - I only stumbled on these gurls two days ago. It took only a listening to a handful of songs to drive me to make my fielder purchase on iTunes ever and my first music purchase in more than years. I don’t remember being this excited by new music since Operation Mind Crime. There isn’t a bad song on the album. I cannot day enough good things about this band. The bassist lays it down in every song, the drummer is amazing and is driving me to rethink how I should play double pedals myself, and the guitarist can shred like no other! And of course the singers are amazing! For decades I’ve wondered where all the good music has gone. It’s in Japan and dresses up as cutesy Maids. Buy this! You will NOT be disappointed!

4. Suprise Suprise - Interesting to see that iTunes is making a big effort for Japanese music. Hopefully this become a standard thing. In any case, Band-Maid is one of those recently uncovered gems from Japan that a lot of people are talking about. Whether you come from hard rock, metal, classic rock, or 's grunge, this band will be your go to album for all times.

5. Awesome album - Checked them out due to the cute costumes, but stuck around due to really good music. I'm no kid, but I've been playing this album pretty much over and over for weeks now - ever since seeing them at SakuraCon in Seattle for their first concert outside Japan. They rocked the house and now they've been rocking my world! Can't wait for their next album, which should be coming out any day now.

6. New beginnings indeed ... - Someone had the brilliant idea to change this band's format from sugar jpop to metal and whoever that was deserves a Nobel prize. The album isn't perfect but so much more enjoyable than % of anything else coming out and makes you wonder why the us doesn't have good girl metal bands too.

7. Best album of the year - BAND-MAID is an amazing all female rock band from Tokyo. Don't be fooled by their maid attire, those girls know how to play an heavy metal/punk mix of energetic and refreshing rock. Saiki (彩姫) on the vocals has a voice which will give you thrills both in Japanese and English. She is really amazing. Kanami (遠乃 歌波) is an incredible lead guitar. Her talent is close to perfection. She is training so hard everyday. Take time to listen to her solo. She is out of this world. At the bass is MISA. As a former bass player, I can tell you that this girl has a real unique talent. She is the soul the band. Don't be fooled because she likes to drink Budweiser... (^_^) At the drums is Akane (廣瀬 茜), the force of BAND-MAID, the power who brings them all together. She is an amazing drum player. Oh, and if you want to make her happy, please send her a Snoopy plush. Or two. Or three. Okay, and then there is Miku (小鳩 ミク). Well, Miku is unique. There is nothing more I can say, sorry. Now about the songs. I really wish I could tell you which ones are best. But as much as I listen to this album, I just love them all. The girls' talent on each song is just unique. I have never listened to such an album. This is by far the best album of the year and its greatest surprise too.

8. Band-Maid Rocks! Plain and Simple! - Are you a fan of straightforward Hard rock? Then buy this album! It rocks from the first song, Thrill to the last song Shake That! These young ladies from Japan are not only beautiful but rock like hell! Don't let the cute Maid outfits fool you. They are all rock! These girls will be big time very soon!

1. LOVE IT!!! - This album is so good!!! I love the creativeness this band has. It rly helps with my Japanese and they just can't be ignored any longer. People if you seriously don't want to be apart of this culture, it's fine, it just shows how secluded you are in the world. You should see it, you may find something you never thought you would like.

2. Love! Love! Love! - I love Wagakki Band! There my favorite Japanese band! I got too see them in concert too at the Anime Expo convention! It was there first concert in America! They said they want to come again and to a concert tour in America! If they do.. I wouldn't mind seeing them in concert again! I love you Wagakki Band! ( )

1. Ayaka! - I bought this album two years ago becuase I thought I heard 'Why' on here. I couldn't read Japanese(even now I know very little). As I listened through the album, I then came to know none were 'Why'. It was a great purchase anyway though. She has smooth powerful vocals that are worth a listen. I highly recommend you buy this album!
P.S. iTunes, please add more J-Pop like Ayaka and Namie :)

2. Its about time! - Wow... Im blown away that iTunes is finally getting the J-Pop sound through. Its still not enough... but this Woman should be proof that its worth getting more and more cultural talent in here. Her voice is wonderful, rich and full of life. I cant wait to get the next album. Bring it on iTunes! WE WANT MORE!

3. amazing - ayaka's voice is phenomenal!!!!! i listen to jpop/jrock all of the time, and i would have to say that here voice is one of the clearest, most beautiful of them all! (i'm also my school's choir). however, i would like it if the american itunes store would put up more of her songs that are only on the japanese itunes store.

4. :D!!!!!!! ayaka - Yay! I don't know alot about her, but this stuff is the bomb! I hope they will have the song Why on iTunes soon... i really like that song....it's sad because it reminds me of of some-one dieing.... and i LOVE her voice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... unless i'm really stupid and the song is right under my nose... I love how she doesn't sound like all the other J-pop singers out there. her voice isn't all really high and stuff... you know what i mean..? I can't pick any favorites off of this album, i love all of them! but i DO love Story ALOT.. i want the whole cd but i don't have enough money...:(
2008-07-08
5. Absolutely Superb! - I had first heard about ayaka from her amazing song Why which was one of the themes on the hit PSP game Final Fantasy: Crisis Core. Her voice is so flexible it just brings soothing tunes to my ear. Her voice is deeper than most Japanese pop singers, but that makes it all the better. Not only does she have a wonderful voice but shes just so damn cute XD. I definitely recommend this album to anyone with a taste in good music!
2008-07-04
6. Love it! - I love ayaka! I have been a HUGE fan of hers since her debut in Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (yes that was her as Sailor Venus/Ino Minako in the Live Action!!!) years ago, and wondered when she would be coming to the U.S. I can't understand most of her lyrics, but her voice is beautiful and I completely love it! If you like her album I would suggest looking into her song "Why" on the Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core soundtrack. The lyrics and melody are amazing and very heart-felt.

7. Great Voice! - Usually, I like j-pop singers but they're not exactly my type. But Ayaka is the best singer in Japan I've ever heard besides Sweetbox. Ayaka has a great voice and great music to match with it. Even though I can't speak Japanese, she can sing. I bet she can sing some of these songs that hit the charts, like the songs American Idol finalists sing.
2008-02-19
8. Nice J-pop starter. - I just love ayaka. Her voice it so pure and sometimes in her songs, it doesn't even sound like she's Japanese. She sings like most singers that sing piano solos these days. I especially fell inlove with the song Mikazuki or no.. If you only want one song, no. is your best choice.
2008-02-13
9. Subarashii (Wonderful) - This is true talent from Japan. I love to listen to many other Female, and Male JPOP vocalists and they are great too, but this album is over the top. Following the instructions, I won't compare to other artists except to say "ayaka is one of the best I have ever heard" - and I have heard many from the s till now... It is forever "etched" on my IPOD. Semper Fi!
2008-01-08
10. THE GREATEST SINGER IN JAPAN - I have been always looking on iTunes japan and have always wanted ayaka's cd. Her voice is so clear and its one of the best I've heard. You dont need to understand Japanese for her songs. The meoldy is just so beautiful. I reccomend listening to Jewerly Day, I believe, and Mikazuki.
2007-08-20
11. Review - Hearing songs like 'I Believe' from ayaka there is no doubt that she would become an international star. She is one of the VERY few Japanese artists that have made it well in the western areas. Ayaka is a brilliant artist with amazing lyrical depth in her songs [typical in Japanese music]. Ayaka makes a wonderful additions to any Japanese pop collection and she is great for those exploring the pop genre a little bit deeper by going into other language to like for it. I highly regard ayaka as one of the best current Japanese artists.
2007-07-18
12. Amazing Album - This one of the only J-Pop Artists in the United States iTunes Store and already she is doing great in a new country. I listened to her album and it was denfitly amazing even though i didn't understand the words (because they were in japanese) but her voice is really great. I also wish that iTunes would get Winding Road (a single where she did a duet ((great song)).
2007-07-05
13. Fantastic Debut - As an American who regularly listens to western music, I find it a delightful break when hearing such fresh talent from another country. ayaka (Yes, the "a" in her name is lower-cased) is one of the stronger new-comers to not only arise from Japan, but any country. Her powerful vocals are matched with beautiful melodies and descriptive lyrics. Unlike most female J-pop musicians, ayaka has a strong sense of self and doesn't rely completely on image to get her music's message across. ayaka is an artist of the purest talent, as this is well showcased in her debut single, "I believe" (Which was also a major hit in Japan). ayaka's strong vocals lift the spirit while not overpowering the listener, also a talent not found in many young female singers of today. The fun "Real voice" delights and inspires, while "三日月" has a peaceful serenity guided mainly by ayaka's spirited voice. This is a great addition to the iTunes Store, and I look forward to more diverse selections like this. For the casual American listener looking to venture into the world of J-pop, this is a fine start. ayaka is a shining talent and authentic musician, this young lady will go very far.

1. Beautiful and different - Sigma is where my love of Reol and her music spawned, starting with Summer Horror Party. The whole album offers something different in every song, different tones, etc. Personally I love Give Me A Break Stop Now and Not Found for their meanings if you’ve read a translation, they feel so unbelievably relatable and fun to listen to. There’s not a song on here I don’t love. / would recommend to all

2. Perfect - I've been a fan of reol for god knows how long and this album makes me so happy and proud. Reol's music has grown and evolved and I still deeply admire her musical talent. I'm in love with every single track, which is rare for me when it comes to albums, and I'm mesmerized by the vocal power packed in Reol's singing. Absolutely amazing, I love Reol!
2017-04-10
3. A decent second solo album - While it can't compare to the solid, unstoppable wall of aural bliss that was Reol's previous solo album (Gokusaishiki), Sigma is still a decent entry in her nascent discography. Lunatic, Yoiyoi Kokon, and Chiruchiru easily make my top three, while a few tracks, such as Konoyo Loading... and Viora, are more experimental and don't quite rise to the level of the rest. Overall, I enjoyed this album, and I'm excited to see where her next will take her.

4. Not Disappointed! - I actually pre-ordered/got the physical version from Amazon Japan. I’ve been a huge fan of Giga Reol for a long time now. I was a little nervous about an official album, but I’ve never heard a song by Giga I dislike, and this carried that feeling on! My SO isn’t as much of a JPop fan as me, but while listening to this in the car, he said she reminded him of modern Brittany Spears and Lady Gaga combined. I think that’s a good way to explain the sound to westerners! Maybe a little heavier in techno/hip-hop sounds, but close. I feel like dance-pop fans of any language would enjoy this album!
2016-10-25
5. SIGMA is amazing! - TL;DR: I highly recommend this album if you like REOL and/or J-Pop/Electronic. Even if you've never listened to any Japanese music, give it a try! I have yet to listen to a REOL song that I dislike, even slightly. Which is why put my faith in REOL and bought this album without listening to any of the songs beforehand. And just for the record, this is the first full album I've ever purchased. I think the beginning of this album (Vip Kid) is beautiful and immersive immediately after you press play. The effort put into this album absolutely shows, in fact, it shines. I'm very proud of Reol, Giga, and Okiku for this and I hope there is more to come from them!

6. A Must-Buy for Reol Fans - I'll admit, I was terrified when Reol got signed, but the songs from this album posted to her YouTube did not disappoint, and neither has this release. With emphasis on modern pop and hip-hop themes, this album largely moves away from the "anime" genre feel of Reol's older music and covers and is something I'd comfortably listen to in public with other people without embarrassment for being the weeb trash that I am.

1. Amazing Songs - I’m a weeb. So I watch anime and I simp for anime often. All anime songs are good, just I prefer some specific ones. Yoasobi music is insane. I don’t understand how they can come up with these amazing songs over and over again. I’ve pretty much memorized the lyric pronunciation even though I’m not Japanese at all. This is honestly amazing. I’d recommend this to people who enjoy listening to music and watch anime.

2. Fantastic Debut Album - YOASOBI is a J-pop duo whom I’d recommended to fans of Vocaloid and Zutomayo. Although I don’t speak Japanese, the lyrical runs and vocal control by female vocalist Ikura combined with super catchy beats ranging from fun, cute, fantastical to even melancholic by producer Ayase (of Vocaloid fame) make for a refreshing set of “ear worms” that I’ve had on repeat for months now while resigning myself to humming along because each attempt I’ve made to sing the lyrics correctly has failed horrendously. Any who, this albums good I just wish it were longer.

1. I’m stunned... - I admit, I am a jaded older millennial who didn’t think it was possible to love a song more than I love “Simple & Clean” but this...this is special. The progression starting at :.... I listen to an obsessive amount of electronica and the heart that beats inside this song is timeless. Oddly enough when I hear this, I immediately think of spring? I don’t know if that was intentional.

2. Beautiful Album - I’ve been a longtime fan of Utada Hikaru after falling in love her music for the Kingdom Hearts series and she’s an honest inspiration to me. When I heard the preview for One Last Kiss it inspired me to watch Evangelion so I’d be caught up and could immerse. Every soundtrack from this album is amazing, and I adore it to pieces.

1. ^_^ yay!!! - I looked up ORESKABAND, because when i typed in "tsumesaki" (the japanese ending theme for the anime "bleach") nothing popped up. So, when i got this band, i scrolled through all the songs, until i came up Tips, and I almost fell out of my chair!!! it's my FAVORITE song!!! The whole album has pretty much the same instrumental music with different lyrics and names, but, hey, it's all good!!
2008-11-07
2. An Upbeat Delight and an A Ska Band on the Rise - I found this after surfing the web out of boredom. I love ska in general, but this blew me away! My favorite song is Tips; the opening to the song just pulls you in! Just shows that ska is not dead! I wish I could understand what they were saying though...perhaps I will learn Japanese just for this!
2008-11-02
3. OOOO: - x... what a happy, well-rounded, fun, great, lovely, band! They're really great people, too! I saw them live and met them afterwards. They're amazing on stage, and (OMGNOWAI) they're - as I'm writing this (Happy late birthday Tomi! :). They really are in unison in music and in themselves and so down to earth. I'm sad their videos aren't on here, same with their other songs ;-;. The pie in the face-ness: Wasuremono. (Things I've Forgotten video) Tsumasaki( Tips) MAKES ME WANNA DANCE! x it's so happy and joyous. Chuck is simply AMAZING. It's a beautiful song. Things I've Forgotten is so well-done and simply captivating live. I have the video on my phone and it well never ever go off it D: . Almond is the lighter side of them with some nice rythm ^^. Monkey Man makes you wanna do the monkey oo. Yeah! Ska Dance and Knife and Fork and Pinnochio are very defining and state a generalization about their syle. They don't just do ska; they mix with otehr styles :. U is a strangely catchy song with a really funky sound ;D. I simply Shall We Dance?. The beats are amazing. MIROKO'S SOLO IS SO AMAZING. I like the arguement in Pantime xD. Cooler Society is very quick and makes me feel really happy inside. Good Bye Deja Vu is very... unusual (in a good way!). It's upbeat, but makes you feel like something's up and it's a good thing ;. Lovely band. Lovely music. Period.

4. zomg amazingness - ok wow. so first, track - tips is also called tsumasaki and its one of the bleach ending themes which is also one of my favorites second, i cannot believe oreskaband is on itunes theyre FRICKIN AMAZING and third, best ska you will ever hear. so buy it. now. or i guess u could just go on gendou's music and get it there... but either way ITS AMAZING
2008-09-21
5. BUY...NOW! - so i had never heard of oreskaband before warped , but ive loved fellow ska bands like reel big fish and streetlight manifesto and these guys did nothing but put a smile on my face throughout there entire set! they are an amazing group of girls, and i was lucky enough to buy their cd and meet them! definitely buy this cd, because oreskaband is going to be big
2008-08-19
6. Favorite on Warped this year! - -I had never heard of these girls until this year at warped tour and with the lack of actual punk bands on this years tour I decided to check them out. These girls put on one of the best live shows, not a face in the crowd was not smiling. Highly recommended to fans of Reel Big Fish, older Less Than Jake or Mad Caddies. Bought the cd and it completely lives up to the live show.
2008-08-11
7. WOOT!! ORESKABAND!! one of the best in the business - Their music is so fun and so amazing. Its catchy and really brings out the best in ska. I know some Japanese and their lyrics are very clever and fun. I got to see them at Warped Tour and they are just as amazing live. They never miss a beat even when they make their very few mistakes. And they definately know how to present themselves and their music to a croud or anyone listening. And they have so much energy that you can just feel it in their music. And every song is a skankable one. Two thumbs way way up.
2008-08-03
8. A classic.... - Reading the review before me, its quite a coincidence I saw them at this year's Warped Tour, and they played with none other than Reel Big Fish. One of the best live sets I've ever seen. This album is a must have, especially for ska fans. They're already known for the songs " Tips" (the th theme for Bleach), and "Pinocchio" (the current theme for Naruto), but don't limit them to just that. This album is a masterwork of third-wave ska. Every song, a potential classic. You would be crazy to pass up this album. Recommended songs: Chuck, Knife & Fork, and Yeah! Ska Dance
2008-08-01
9. ORESKABAND ROCKS! - Alright. So I saw these ladies at Warped Tour yesterday, and they are AMAZING. Most of the crowd just drifted over there from another, more popular show that was waiting to start, and we were all blown away. These girls have so much energy. They were one of my favorite shows I saw, even though I couldn't understand the lyrics. I bought the CD right away and got it signed. My favorites from the album are Pinocchio, Tips, Knife & Fork, Chuck, and Good Bye Deja Vu. But if you have the money, buy the entire thing!
2008-07-19
10. I first saw them live and the album is just as good. - Well, I first caught this crazy awesome band while waiting for some other band my friend wanted to see at the Vans Warped Tour in Dallas. (btw the other band was horrible) They had so much crazy energy on stage and that was reflected in their crazy asian jams. When I got home after the concert I had to look them up. I instantly bought the album and it is AMAZING. It is really good ska music and has the same energy of their live show. I love to jam out to the Japan's finest ska band! I'm hoping I can get a hold of their Japanese albums.
2008-07-07
11. completey amazing - i saw these girls yesterday at warped tour and, along with reel big fish, they were my favourite show. their music is insane and their energy on stage is amazing for six japanese girls who look fourteen. they definitely need to tour with rbf and streetlight since they're that good. who says ska is dead?!
2008-07-07
12. Amazing Performers! - I saw Oreskaband at Warped Tour this year and they were absolutely fantastic! Other than having great music, they were amazing performers and were totally involved with the audience. When we got the chance to ask them how old they were they said they were all NINETEEN!! Amazing talent, fun performance & all at such a young age!
2008-06-24
13. ORESKABAND Great Japanese Ska! - ORESKABAND, what can I say they are awesome! Super energetic japanese ska, and they are really sweet to. I was blessed to see them at Warped Tour in ' and they were very sweet, and really friendly, and they are passionate about their music to. They take the time to actually talk to each of their fans, unlike some other bands these days. One of the best up and coming bands from Japan so far on itunes. They are also an all girl ska band to, and they still kick butt. This is one of the albums that I play quite often, there is not one song on this album that I don't like.
2008-03-05
14. AMAZING! - so oreskaband is pretty much one of the best ska bands i've heard, right up there with reel big fish and streetlight manifesto. their songs are upbeat and ridiculously catchy, and even though i can't understand the lyrics, i sing along anyways! i just wish i had gone to warped tour...then i could have seen these girls and paramore, my absolute favorite band...anyways, my only complaint is that no stores stock the cd. i like having a hard copy, but thank you so much itunes for having this cd! and oreskaband, keep up the amazing work!
2007-09-07
15. This is the best ska album I've heard in years! - This album is nothing short of awesome! The only thing cooler than the album is seeing them live! My favorite tracks are Tips, Yeah! Ska Dance, and Almond. Buy this album! Then see them on the Warped Tour side stage at the Home Depot Center! Ore Ska forever!
2007-08-19
16. Best Ska Album Ever! - This is like Reel Big Fish (good RBF from TtRO and WDTRSH) after gender reassignment and relocation to Japan! This is probably the best SKA album I have ever heard! The horns and guitar set the pace and changing up the vocalists really works. The Harmonies are right on the mark. I can't say enough good things. Definitely check out this stuff. Pinnochio is great as well as Things I've Forgotten and Almond! So start with those if you just wanna try them out!
2007-08-12
17. Rock On Ladies! - I love the upbeat music. Even the slower songs have a little kick in them. I haven't bought this album yet, but I have the Wao!! album and it's awesome. I noticed that there are several songs from the album on this new one, but they are great songs. I'm buying it to support Oreskaband. Go Ikasu, Leader, Tomi, Tae-san, Saki, and Moriko! You guys rock! FYI--they're gonna be at the Home Depot Center--woohoo!

1. Thank You! - FINALLY! Actual artists singing my Fav songs. ITunes, get a clue and put MORE anime OP and ED anime songs with the ORIGINAL artists. Please! I nearly fell over when I found Thank You from Bleach. I think it's awesome that Sword Art Online's OP by Lisa is already on here (which I've already purchased). ITunes, there's a HUGE fan base craving these songs. More, more more! Please! Arigato!

2. Anime Fans, Buy The Heck Out of This! - THIS is the kind of thing us anime music fans are foaming at the mouth for, not the cheap immitations. Now I understand HMK has already made their US debut and all, so that's likely why we get this. BUT! It shouldn't be impossible to start getting a trickling of official non-US releases too, and I'm talking the kind of stuff everybody really wants, like this. It's all digital distribution, there should be less hassles and red tape for the iTunes folks to get this stuff to us, licensing fees and etc. Not like you need shelf space or marketing/advertising to get it to people. Just put it out here for us rabid fans to tear up! We'll definitely throw gobs of money at you for it. For example I'll point to some of KOKIA's great albums that you've already got on here for proof that it's not out of the question to have some of the awesome import stuff from anime/games/etc. And now this comes along. The only other thing I'm gonna say here is money talks, people. You get totally kick@ songs here, and the more sales things like this make, the more likely Apple and the iTunes folks are gonna send more our way.

1. Fxxk Boyz Get Money is just the beginning - I keep wondering how in the world FBGM is FEMM's most popular song. This entire album is absolutely fantastic, and it's near-criminal that this duo isn't getting more buzz. I just found myself clicking through music video after music video on YouTube and loving every single song. Very excited for the major label debut! PoW! is great and I'm psyched at FEMM's hinting that they'll be performing in the US in the near future. Their live performances are to die for!

2. I haven’t bought a jpop album in a while but... - This is the first jpop album I’ve bought in years, mostly because FEMM create a great mix of themes familiar to jpop with lyrics and themes that are not seen as much. Their songs and lyrics are great fun and empowering and not to mention their amazing music videos and street performing. I really hope FEMM gets the chance to perform more!

T.m revolution - Wow I was surprised to see this album if you know anything about this artist he has a trademark sound all his own, his energetic tracks like zips are a must have to any jpop fan this is a good compilation for the songs of the time period because its basically a mix of every hit track he had from the albums he did during that time period so I would say buying the album is a must have if your a T.M R fan it gets to the point and is a good run down of hit after hit of the songs he's known for strongly suggest you get this creative jewel

2. Great mix - My only issue is the overlap of some of the songs in this albums and others I've bought already on iTunes. Some songs are different versions but others (ex. "Sword Summit" from Cloud Nine) are identical copies. That's more a fault of iTunes though. Just a bit of a pain when they don't have enough songs from this artist for me to think reselling the same songs is reasonable. Still bought full album to support though! Put up more!

1. Just get it, don’t even think. - Vocals are amazing, instrumentals are amazing, just everything about this album is amazing. The instrumentals were constructed by the wonderful woman, Yuki Kaujira. And of course, the vocals are performed by the beautiful Kalafina. Even if you don’t understand what their saying (like me) you can still get chills down your spine, especially the first song. Well done Kalafina and Yuki....

2. Consolation: Review - You, the reader, may have come across this band or album for songs you’ve heard from the Fate series such as To the Beginning; Kara no Kyōkai works, like Hikarifuru; or you may have just been casually looking through Japanese artists. I’m writing this review as a Kalafina (and Yuki Kajiura, their composer) fan of . years. I first suggest that you stick with Kalafina’s music because the band is one of very very few, especially in English music, that produces a sound of classic and clear harmony. Audibly in Japan, be a man or a woman singing, the harmony is often (but not always) fairly high and very similar, in , maybe parts. I don’t know how everyone works, but to me, this can get boring. Kalafina has much more variety in song, from solos to -part harmony in EVERY piece. And their vocal range might not seem important, but it’s something to note, and something that makes songs interesting in comparison to each other. Also, even though this is a group of singers, I was surprised upon becoming interested in each member! Even in studio sound, these songs are made with separate, NOTICEABLY distinctive voices. Hearing this, instead of such typical and processed sound, made me look up the band further. Even more commendable variety comes in the genre, which you should already have noticed upon hearing every sample. You have your ballads, varying degrees of rock in different moods, high-energy songs, and even middle-eastern instruments and harmony. Don’t come blindly purchasing the album thinking “Well, it’s just another J-Pop/Anime thing”! Of the American-release albums (but not all their actual albums), Consolation is my personal favorite.

3. Please - iTunes, i would like to respectfully request that you add Kalafina’s new album, Far on the Water (which just came out yesterday) to the music under Kalafina in the American store. Consolation is beautiful but there are a lot of gorgeous songs on the new one and it makes me really unhappy that I can’t listen to them ever :( I will not download them illegally of course, but others might since you are not providing us with a legal means of getting it without buying the hard copy CD, which is very expensive. Unless there is some sort of country barrier preventing you from allowing the songs to be bought in America via iTunes (which is strange since that’s not the case for the stuff already on here), please take my word for it that a lot of fans would be very happy if they could purchase Kalafina’s new album from their own country.

4. This album truly was a "consolation"! - "Seventh Heaven" is one of my favorite Japanese albums of all time, so of course I had high expectations for "Red Moon." No such luck there; Kalafina's sophomore album fell far short of the perfection that was their first and never quite grew on me much as a whole, though there were bits and pieces that I liked. I never got a chance to listen to "After Eden" because for some reason it's not available on iTunes US, so naturally after one relative disappointment and one complete mystery, I was hesitant about "Consolation." That hesitation proved to be totally unfounded, and this is one of my favorite albums so far. Some tracks I like more than others, of course, but there is not a single dud on the album. "Consolation" and "Signal" in particular are basically perfect. There are very few groups out there that are vocally superior to Kalafina, and I'm SO glad to see that they've hit their optimum music-making stride once again. I highly, highly recommend this album to anyone who appreciates chamber pop with beautiful vocal harmony.

1. Just as good if not better!!! - This is another jewel crafted by Suisei! Wii-wii-woo and Template hit HARD and give a rapid feel and flow to the album while also providing with slower tempos and more relaxed tones from songs like “My Happy Transmission”. This album is going on my regular rotation of music to listen to going forward and I recommend you listen to it too!

1. Bringing me back to the J-music scene - This is the freshest thing I've heard off Japanese, Korean, or American music markets in a while. Reol is an exciting mix of sharp words, sharp vocals, and sharp music that makes EVERY track on the album a standout. This is one of those rare -star albums that I've barely listed to twice through, and I'm already frustrated that there isn't more! I like some tracks more than others, but I cannot pick a favorite because it is all so quality. Many elements of Reol's music choices and vocal uniqueness and appeal remind me of - Ayumi Hamasaki, in the best way. I never expected to find someone who could successfully do that unique Ayu vocal style, but here we are with a fabulous contender. Nonetheless, Reol is her own flavor, as if she studied some of Ayu's best, and then went and applied it with her own tastes and influences. I adore the result. Between Reol and majiko, I am finally returning to the Japanese music scene after many years.

1. A great primer for new listeners with two exclusive tracks for fans - A Complete was initially released as a box set for her th Anniversary. As it says on the box, it contains all of her singles from through with a few caveats. Firstly, CD singles with multiple A-sides--which are virtually all of her singles post---are represented on A Complete with whichever song was the first track. Secondly, any singles that were dance or remix singles--like "Daybreak"--are represented with their album versions rather than any of the remixes on the CD single. Finally, some songs, like "M" and "AUDIENCE" have noticeably different arrangements on this collection than on the original singles that made them famous. Instead, they sound closer to the arrangements used in her more recent live shows. While this might read like as an exhaustive list, these are not shortcomings of the collection. A Complete still makes a great, affordable primer for people who want some Ayu in their library but find her vast discography intimidating. Ideally, if you heard an Ayu song but weren't sure which of her albums it came from, it's probably on here. Additionally, A Complete features two new recordings exclusive to this collection: "Mirrorcle World," her th anniversary single and one of her best songs, as well as a re-recorded and re-arranged version of one of her classic songs, "Who…" If you already have all of her albums, these two songs are definitely worth picking up individually.

2. Truly...A COMPLETE!!! - A WONDERFUL GIFT FROM OUR AYU!!!! Within this CD, it contains all her hits from her very first album "A Song for xx" all the way to her number one hit "Mirrorcle World"! As a fan, just to own this is the greatest treasure I could ever ask for! I'm deeply honored that I can even DOWNLOAD this collection! Just to hear our Ayu go from the typical singer into one of the most greatest J-pop singers in Japanese music history is one of the greatest pleasures on earth! ( ω ) Although people say that she doesn't have the most greatest voice...even THEY have to admit that her influence over pop music is one of the reasons why people CAN enjoys of classical J-pop today! In my eyes, Ayumi Hamasaki is the very definition of greatest J-pop diva that ever hit the music scene! An awesome album! GET THIS NOW!

1. Hey Hey You You - You should get this album! This is so pretty! I love all of these in music box form. My favorites are The Dragon Boy -Ryuuno Shounen-, Always With Me -Itsumo Nando Demo- (both from Spirited Away), Teru's Song from Tales of Earthsea, and I think Jenseino Merry-Go-Round is from Howl's Moving Castle but I can't remember. It's been so long, but this brings back good memories.

2. We need more Miyazaki music!!!!! - Personally I love the music in the Miyazaki films and I think that this rendition is particulary beautiful, that aside WHY DOSN'T ITUNES HAVE THE ORIGINALS???? this is the only place I can find "Jeiseino Merry-go-Round" and the "My neighbor Tototu songs" I'm not taking anything away from this album but it would be nice to have a larger selection
2010-02-22
3. Simply beautiful. - Whether you've seen any of Miyazaki's films or not, you are bound to enjoy listening to this. These songs were beautiful in their original arrangements, but hearing them played through a music box is beyond soothing. Some of my personal favorites are "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind", "My neighbor Totoro", "Umi no Mieru Machi", " The Princess Mononoke" and "Teru's Song". But those are just a handful; each and every piece is fantastic, and this is an album that will never lose its beauty.

1. Great new sound from Daoko - While I absolutely adore her first two albums with the Low High Who label, I really wasn't big on Dimension. Maybe if I gave it another listen now after hearing DAOKO, I would like it more. But this newest album, straight on the heels of Dimension, comes as a welcome surprise! It's a new sound to be sure, one that I think you can start to see come out in Dimension. Pop-y, more melodic you could say. The songs become less free-styled raps and more structured, with repeated choruses and catchy melodies. Meanwhile the background beats and music felt noticeably simpler to me (although there are some really neat moments with strings and new instruments) but are still enticing and support Daoko's soaring breathy vocals. Songs like "Kimi" and "Ichiban Boshi" step firmly and unabashedly into Electro-Pop, but Daoko pulls them off really well. And fans of the older hip-hop will find lots of moments of that too, and songs like "Iya" and "Takai Kabeniwa..." will appeal to them I think. It's entirely possible that if the hip-hop is really what you got stuck on Daoko for, you'll dislike most of this new album, but I think it's a great foray into a new style while retaining the thoughtful, mysterious lyrics and unique voice that Daoko is known for. A Great new album. Really superb. Can't think of a song I dislike. Maybe JK is just a little slow for me but that's it as far as complaints go. Right now I'm particulary digging Suisei, Boku, and Takai Kabeniwa Ikusen-No Door though.

2. Makes me cry every time I listen - This old soul but young at age Japanese singer-song writer understands the deep meaning of life. The song has power to heal us. It reminds us of why we are here. It gives us hope since we have a place to return after we leave this world. It’s thought provoking. Great song! You can find the video on YouTube with English subtitles. The title is “Kaerou” (means Going home) by Kaze Fujii.

3. この世界に生きて年最高のアルバム - His voice and ability to insert such emotion behind the lyrics is incredible. The songs weave in and out of different styles/genres seamlessly and provide for a varied, expressive sound that results in a unique listening experience, one that is new and creative. Already my new favorite artist, absolutely phenomenal. ちょうええわまじでもうライブ行きたいチケットちょうだい

4. A great new talent - Kazë is such a blessed artist—I feel fortunate to have come across him. His lyrics (in Japanese originally, but beautifully and skillfully translated into English, presented in a booklet that comes with the CD set) are so mature that I can hardly believe he has only turned twenty-three in June . He seems wise beyond his age but so sweet at the same time.

1. Love the album! But... - This is an amazing album by very great artists but I wish Itunes would add more of the band's songs! I was looking for Silhouette (was actually trying to buy it and not get a cheap knock-off from YouTube) but it's not here. I even tried switching over to the Japanese Itunes store but it wasn't there. Until then, I'm forced to download it somewhere else and when it becomes available on Itunes, I will purchase here. ^_^

2. The Orginal English version - The Lyrics for the english version seems kinda off, but unlike the other versions on itunes, this is the real thing. There is one warning, the speech near the end has been cut out in the Japenesse version, and the speech (at the end) in the English version is in Japenesse.

1. Conceptual Master Piece - I am literally speechless. GRIMORE pleases the soul with deep sub-bass and heavy synth you can't help but bop along too. INSIDER, DALI, and HYPE MODE go so hard and deliver epic vocal harmonies with in the rap. KINJITOU is my favorite track hands down. Such a fun track and one to dance too. LDK is like a tropical swing hip hop adventure. Every song is just that good. Very rarely is there an album that I won't skip tracks on and this is it. Start to finish its just mesmerizing. Vocally the entire album flows so well and the composition is just wonderful. Going to be one of my favorite albums for sure. Chefs Kiss.

1. Morning Musume - This album is absolutley amazing of course!! Because Momusu is amazing! I have nearly every song on here, and I would like to thank you very much for putting up all of the albums from Hello Project! Many people have been asking, and waiting anxiously for these albums to be put up on iTunes because there are many people in America aswell as in Japan that love these girls. I will always be a fan of Momusu no matter what! So once again Thank You SOOO Much. I apreciate it! XD

2. what's with the price? - First of all, I would just like to point out that morning musume is a GREAT group and itunes should be proud to have them on here, but I'm confused about the price of the complete album. There is only a total of songs, so why is the price for the full album $.? If you bought all the songs seperate ( even if it would take a couple seconds longer ), total would be around $., saving you a little over dollars!

3. Morning Musume Rocks!! - I discovered this awesome group back in . I met my Japanese wife that year and did some Japanese culture exploring. What better way to do so through music. I was immediately hooked on 'Love Revolution ' and 'Love Machine'. I've been a fan ever since.
I've watched the members mature, swap throughout the years. The Golden Age (-) members are my favorite. Rika Ishikawa (石川 梨華) and Maki Goto (後藤 真希) remain my favorites.
Their music seems to have lost the spunk of the former years. Tsunku has lost his touch.
Despite it all, I remain a loyal fan. Hopefully, they'll be around still for my future daughter(s) to enjoy.

4. Momusu wa aioshii! - I love Morning Musume... some of their songs are somewhat mature for children to listen to, but I still love them! Especially Ai Kago and Tsuji Nozomi! I completely recommended this group! But some of the song names are spelled wrong or have no spaces??? sigh Oh well.. it's fixable when you buy it. Momusu LOVE!

5. Great But Why does itunes not have W (double you) - I Love morning musume but in the early days of morning musume they had different members than what is on this cd if you look at the other covers u will see that but there are two members name aibon and tsuji they formed a group when they graduated from morning musume and it is called Double You or W itunes really needs to put them on here they will bring in quite a sum of money if i tunes does put them on. So it would be in their best interest to put them on. They are they cutest jpop duo ever! Please itunes put them on Soon!

6. MOMUSU ROCKS! - I'm a non Japanese speaker, got into j-pop from anime, and started expanding, and found Morning Musume, which is easily my favorite group now and I am playing these songs religiously. Don't feel bad if you pick some song to preview and find you don't like them. Their styles change song to song and some I like, some I don't like so much. But on the whole the group is great, and the new songs Mikan and Resonant Blue (RB not released yet) I love!

7. Good job, iTunes! - I was so happy when I saw iTunes chose to sell Morning Musume. I've always wanted to support my favorite girls, and now iTunes has made it so easy. If anyone's interested in Japanese pop idols, here are the number one stars of Japan. You will not regret this buy! This album has of their singles and it's worth every dollar.

8. Hello! Morning Musume! - This came as a shock to see this album pop-up in the US iTunes store, but it's a welcomed change all together. If you wanted to find out more about this group, then just get this album! It includes all of Morning Musume's hit singles up to the year , excluding their first indy single, Ai no Tane and their newest single, Mikan (which can also be found on iTunes.) There's not atleast ONE song on here that has a musical style that you can enjoy, and while the style and sounds of the songs have changed greatly over the past years, the group is still going just as strong as they were with Morning Coffee.
2008-01-04
9. US Released Physical CD for this album - I know this album is on the US iTunes, but under the zetima label. I think that under the Jive label on January , the physicall CD for this album should be released. You know how the Japanese covers have a "Love Machine" depiction on the regular edition and a "Morning Coffee" depiction on the limited edition? We should have a "Koino Dance Site" depiction on the regular edition and a "Summer Night Town" depiction on the limited edition.

10. Morning Musume FTW!! - Finally! I was beginning to wonder if this great group would ever make it to the States. This album has some of the groups best songs, but of course there are many more out there for you new fans to find! My favorites in this collection would be:Manatsu no kousen(best of the old songs imho),Renai Revolution , Souda! We're Alive, As For One Day, Go Girl Koi no Victory, Chokkan(but really like the original better), Ambitious!, Egao Yes Nude, and Kanashimi Twilight. If you haven't seen their videos you really owe it to yourselves to watch them, as you can't really get the full effect of this group without seeing the girls themselves. :) Be warned, this group can quickly become an addiction!!

11. It's About Time! - I am so happy to see Morning Musume in the U.S. iTunes Store! Individually, they are great performers, and, in all of their manifestations, are a blast to hear and watch. Now, if only iTunes would offer some of their concert footage... Whenever I'm having a bad day, I just put on a モーニング娘。CD or DVD, and all somehow seems alright. I'm talking smiling and singing during the worst Rush Hour Traffic! ^_^ If you're interested in other positive Hello! Project groups, also check out Berries Kobo (工房), Minimoni (ミニモニ) and Country Musume!

13. A perfect first US iTunes debut for Japan's greatest girl group. - I don't know how some Hello! Project releases have been ending up on US iTunes, but I'm glad to see this double-CD anthology here. These are all of Morning Musume's best-selling Japanese hit singles to date, plus one brand new cut. Huge in Japan, and a growing cult phenomenon in the USA and most of the Western world, until this anthology landed on iTunes the only way to get MoMusu music was to either import the CDs from Japan or rely on the kindness of file-sharers. Now all of America can see what the fuss is about. This is pure pop music the way they used to make it in the US.

1. Nothing short of PERFECTION. - It has been several years since I first stumbled upon "you may crawl" while browsing through the iTunes store, and I can honestly say that cents was the single best purchase I have ever made on iTunes. After literally hundreds of listens, the song never even comes close to getting old, and it gives me a different feeling every time. So naturally, once I stumbled upon that gem, I had to buy more. And after purchasing all of "air feel, color swim," I can honestly say that there is not a single dud on the entire tracklist. A little more cleaned-up than "school food is good food," the band's sophomore effort may just be their best to date - and that is saying a lot considering how much I love their other works as well. "Sky step" keeps you on your toes with its unexpected rhythm and melody changes leading into an exciting and energetic finish. "Loop, share" is beautifully haunting and has some of the best piano work on the entire album - which is saying a lot, considering how much I love the piano throughout. "Kemuri ni shiro" is delicate and gorgeous, with soft, beautiful melting timbres. "Turn" is a sassy track that cleverly starts out slow, without any decided rhythm, but evolves into a jazzy instrument-heavy number that will make you want to put it on repeat again and again. "Aimai ni soreru" really showcases Yumi's soft and breathy vocals and continues the jazzy vibe started in "turn." Though nearly six and a half minutes - a long song by most standards - you will never get bored during "Art line." The long instrumental sections are just as beautiful as the vocal parts, and they blend together seamlessly. "Transient" is a soft, wonderful end to the album. Needless to say, at less than $, this album is an absolute steal. I would pay that much for "you may crawl" or "turn" alone. Be sure to check out "Riff-rain" as well, and any other albums iTunes may add in the future. Though I think sfp's mini-albums are better than their full albums, that doesn't mean the work they've done with Epic Records isn't worth a listen, or two, or two hundred. :)

2. Very nice album - I will have to say that this album was a bit of a surprise for me. Just stumbled across it and gave a listen. All and all, School Food Punishment delivers nice well put together songs that have a fun beat and at times a very jazzy vibe. The bass grooves and the keyboards parts are well composed and have nice hooks. The singer, Yumi Uchimura, has a very strong voice that just grabs you. The keyboards are very well played and go back and forth between synth and piano sounds depending on the song. From my point of view, this group is the best when they play straight ahead, minimizing some of the gimmicky synth based sound effects that they do from time to time. I tend to find these random sound effects more distracting than pleasant to listen to, and add little to the songs that they come up in. In the end, that is a minor point that should not dissuade people from giving this group a shot. As others have said, this group has a good sense of composition and making interesting and somewhat complex music that is very expressive. Now iTunes has to get the rest of the groups songs up on US iTunes.

3. More School Food Punishment!! - I fell in love with this band after listening to 'Futuristic Imagination'(the ending theme for the television show, 'Eden of the East'), which sadly iTunes doesn't have. I'm happy to see that I can expand on my collection of School Food, but I really hope iTunes gets 'Light Payer', 'After Laughter', and 'Future Nova' sometime soon along with 'Futuristic Imagination'.

4. Very Refreshing - I don't listen to much rock music anymore, but these guys are above and beyond what I've grown to expect from rock band. Their attention to atmospheric and sonic detail is meticulous, and the use of frequent metric shifts, textural evolution, and unconventional modulations all make for a far more interesting musical experience than I've ever heard from a rock band. Add to the mix a vocalist with a beautiful singing voice, and a highly expressive sense of melody, and you've got yourself a keeper.

1. Another Work of Art from Genki Rockets! Interesting Album - Words cannot describe the blend of creativity and inspiration that this group have produced through this album and previous albums alike. Its iconic mix of Japanese Pop as well as electronic dance still exists throughout the album making that, the style of music has not changed at all but adapted. "No Borders Between Us" has not disappointed me as all. Listen and enjoy the music as it transport you. Genki Rockets "No Borders Between Us" / I cannot wait for their Repackaged album!

2. Was not disappointed. - The other day I remembered that I wanted to re-download Heavenly Star, and I discovered that, somewhere in the timeframe of years, Genki Rockets had made a new album. From the previews, I made the abrupt decision to buy the whole album. This album WILL NOT DISAPPOINT. It's worth every cent, with marvelously layered and creative songs such as Curiosity, Touch Me, Reaching For The Stars and Wonderland.

3. Special-edition rare foil music CD - When I was younger I collected Pokemon cards, and getting a shiny foil card was a wonderful feeling. I was getting something special and rare, and it made me del very good. The new Genki Rockets CD is a modern version of a foil card. It is a rare, happy, shiny CD that makes me happy to listen to. The spirit of my childhood lives on!

4. No Sophmore Jinx Here - This album is the definition of excellence. Genki Rockets displays a superb knowledge of their fanbase by delivering a sophmore effort that expands upon and perfects the original's elements of trippy pop sounds and powerful yet positive vocals, while keeping all of their songs so energetic and/or uplifting that they could seemingly put a manic depressive in a state of euphoria. This album is a must buy.

5. Play the game Child of Eden! - I don't mean to shamelessly plug a video game in a review of an album. But Child of Eden is a sensory overload of beauty that was released for the xbox which literally stars the Genki Rockets vocalist as the child of Eden and her first album is the soundtrack (for the most part). This album is the perfect accompaniment to that game. I recommend the song "Touch me". Very nice, and full of class and beauty. I've seen this girls music videos and their intensely emotional, romantic even, and don't resort to anything lewd or trashy which is so refreshing nowadays. I pray good things for her and her music.
