1. A Perfect Thing(Mood Enhanced Masterpiece) - I work as a graphic designer. I began my career the year Moon Safari came out. It’s been part of my world ever since. It’s simply a perfect album to design to. It never fails to put me in the proper mind set to create. Air achieved something no one has ever done before. There are so many albums I love, but there is always a track or two that I never liked. Moon Safari is amazing from start to finish. It should be in everyone’s collection.

2. One of the Best Albums Ever... - When I came across this album back in , I became convinced that music could be eternally beautiful. Upon first listen to "La Femme D'Argent," I knew I was going to love this album. And this would be the album that opened my ears to other forms of music, and I couldn't be more thrilled. Probably the magnum opus of this wonderful band, and the best electronic album of the s! / Recommended

1. Real Inspiration - She’s my main girl right now. Insane how much inspiration can be drawn from her. So creative and playful while being insanely talented at the same time! Worth every dollar. Also love that her producer mind would want to put all the instrumentals on the deluxe version! This girl is a machine.

2. The ALBUM is not dead! - Imogen is to me today what Peter Gabriel was in the early ’s. An incredible artist more interested in great art and telling a story than selling some salacious single for attention. She oozes integrity and creativity, and is a master of her tools. Sparks is yet another work of beauty – an unfolding rose as you listen. Buy it!

3. Sparks was worth the wait! - This album is amazing! Many of her songs were released beforehand, but the ones released exclusively for this album have been some of my favorites. Entanglement is the new love ballad for me. The poetic lyrics in this album have acclaimed my full attention. I can't stop listening!

4. Profound Beauty - There are moments of profound beauty on this album. These songs are true works of art, especially after reading about all of the collaboration and videos which went along with their creation. A few favorite moments: The opening six seconds of “The Listening Chair” with the overlapping voices of hundreds of people who contributed. “Lifeline” built from a collage of sounds recorded by contributors. So much diversity and beauty coming from seemingly mundane moments. “Neglected Space” A song written from the voice of an oft neglected public garden. Heartbreaking and hopeful all at once. “Climb to Sakteng” Listening to the music you can almost feel what it must have been like to stand amongst the beautiful landscape that inspired this song. “Xizi She Knows” a snapshot of hours in the life of a city in China. Captures the things that make a place unique, things that are all around us but often go unnoticed.

5. Girl's Still Got It! - After twiddling our thumbs for over two years, finally we get to hear the forth full outing for this fantastic artist. Imogen has, first and foremost, been perfectly balanced in her desire to push her musical creativity while still staying true to herself. This album is no exception; every song on here has it's own personality and beautiful feel to it, but you can still hear the light-hearted, bubbly electronic structure that has always been Imogen's signature. She also proves once again that she is an absolute master of sound engineering, and offers us a plethora of new sound fabrics and textures that enhance the real, emotional quality of her music. The only real criticism I have for this album is the seeming lack of many more fast paced tunes; when so many tracks focus on fresh and unconventional sounds, it's hard to hold their slow pace as a negative, but I can't help but feel that there is a bit of an energy lull in the first half of the album, at least in comparison to Speak for Yourself which was so fell constructed in terms of album pacing and song speed. However, the overall effect of the album is very playful, very interesting, and very fresh; it really does bring a "spark" to the imagination.

6. A True Artist with Technology - I've been following Imogen Heap's recent work with the musical gloves but I'm thrilled to see she still focuses on the music. There has never been a master of layering music like her. Once again she has managed to make something unique and yet stylistically true to her electronic soulful taste.

7. a TON of time and energy went into this work of art. It shows. - Immi strikes again. Plainly said, "Sparks" continues Heap's longstanding tradition of blending passion, adventure, and technology in a luscious feast for the mind and companion for the soul. This album in particular seems to me a turning point in her life as a musician. Although I love all of her work, the pieces of this set seem to work with each other as a team more than jump out from one another; she has matured as an artist and she thinks in albums as well as in songs. All in all, "Sparks" is a reflection on everything we have grown to love about this unique and truly gifted woman as well as a portent of things to come. "Who am I now?" Heap ponders at the conclusion of "The Listening Chair;" indeed, Imogen has showcased her creativity in a new way and has certainly convinced this fan of her mesmerizing ability to continually redefine herself and her medium. Here's to many more destinations in this engaging journey!

1. Nukes. - "Surfin' on a Rocket" is totally awesome, and I love it. I still love it, and I've listened to it probably a few hundred times now. I actually didn't used to like it, then one day I listened to the whole thing and was captivated by the melodies and... stuff. Alright I'm super bad with words describing music. The song is great and it made me feel emotions and it's about nuclear weapons.

1. An album worthy of remembrance - Used to listen to this album while driving through Hollywood and Beverly Hills all the time. The nostalgia is unreal with these songs. This album definitely always brings back some really great memories. And it’s funny because this album isn’t even that old but it makes me feel like decades have past by listening to it now.

2. Masters of Modern Nostalgia - Such an incredible album. The instrumental tracks are some of the best on the whole album. These guys are extremely talented, and I can not recommend Endless Summer enough. I bought the album after only hearing “Vampires” because I knew that the rest MUST be just as good as that track - and I was right! My personal favorite track: The Equalizer

3. Every Song is good in its own way - This album has an unexplainable amount of personal connection in my life. This album in its entirety is beautiful and you fall in love and get heartbroken while listening to it, but then you get back up on the horse and you feel okay again. This album will talk to you no matter what situation you may be in. It will help you overcome.

1. I'm not saying it's bad - It didn't have the same feel as all the the other albums. I don't know why, but whenever a track from this album comes up, I always have the urge to hit the skip button. Call me crazy, but that's just my opinion. Change is good, but I happened to dislike this particular change. I'll for sure pick up his next album, and I hope I can enjoy it like I have all his other previous works. I also hope he composes more songs with Quentalis, the songs with him have always turned out pretty cool. But then again, this is all just my opinion.

2. Exceptional. - While Invasion is nowhere near the epic concept album that Zion was, it still is a staggeringly impressive album. As per usual with Savant, there are absolutely no filler tracks; every song has a purpose and meaning. Whether Savant is trying to make you feel something with tracks like Return, make you dance with tracks like Colorblind, or make your brain dance with tracks like Problemathematicalculatorture, every track hits its mark. There truly is something on here for everyone.
My only gripe with this album is that a few tracks (specifically Return and ) differ greatly from their Soundcloud counterparts; I wouldn't have a problem with this if Return, my former favorite track on the album, hadn't been changed so greatly that it no longer feels like the emotional serenade it once was. It's still good, but I wish it hadn't been changed so much.
Favorite tracks: Upgrade, Colorblind, Massacre, Dreamscape
(Oh, and by the way: don't buy this album on iTunes. If you go to his Bandcamp page it's available on a pay-what-you-want basis, and if you decide to pay money for it, more of the money will go to him instead of iTunes taking a chunk of the profit. Support this talented artist!)

1. st Century Music at its best - VNV’s best album yet. When time filters what is true value in music this Album will stand as one of the st Century’s best. Not just just the mesmerizing rhythms but beautifully appropriate lyrics that fit and tell a story in each song and about our present and future.

2. Does not disappoint! - The evolution of sound on this album is fantastic and has been worth the wait! Ronan has been busy. The combination of hope and despair that permeates the album reflects a depth that is rarely found. The sonic image is best enjoyed with headphones, so make sure the good cans are ready.

3. Noire is Incredible! - It’s probably my favorite VNV Nation album so far, just behind Matter Form. My favorites are Immerse, Lights Go Out, Requiem for Wires, Guiding, and When is the Future, though the album as a whole is fantastic. Guiding is the perfect intro to When is the Future. This was worth the year wait!

1. Interesting - I really enjoyed the -BIT ARCADE STYLE RENDITIONS OF TOOL SONGS. Very well done for what it is. Anyone who is giving this a star rating because they thought it was actually Tool and just bought it right away is an idiot. 1. Pretty Lights - Pretty Awesome Remixes - This is by far one of the best remix albums I have ever heard. The unique sound of Pretty Lights blends so well with the "heavier" mainstream EDM, it creates both a catchy and melodic tune track after track. Even though each different artist brings something unique to each song, the album still sounds complete and unified, as originally intended. Buy the album - trust me when I say it's worth every penny.

1. Best yet! - I've been a fan since Frontline in the late 's, then to all the other projects, Delerium, etc. Rhys continues to evolve the best Delerium style in Conjure One. This album is great start to finish. I've felt like Delerium without Rhys has gone the wrong way in its direction, Rhys has pushed through the years and delivered great Conjure One albums one after another.
2017-04-03
2. Back On Track! - What a surprise this album turned out to be. Usually when an established act delivers a dud like Conjure One's third album Exilarch- it's over. However, Holoscenic is familiar and fresh. The pads, arpeggios and beats are on-point, the vocals make sense, and intriguing instrumentals are inserted at exactly the right time. Unfortunately, the album starts where Exilarch ends and almost loses itself by the time Leigh Nash's stinker Under the Gun plays, but from that point on the music and lyrics are stunning, and exactly what you hoped would follow Conjure One's second album Extraordinary Ways. It's dark, and beautiful, and emotional, and perfect.

3. Meh…. - I’ve tried getting into this album and I can’t. None of the songs stand out like I’d hoped. The songwriting and atmospheres aren’t nearly as rich as his first two albums and some of the third. I don’t know how much control Armada has over his work now, but this feels like a departure from what I’ve come to love of Conjure One.

4. With “Holoscenic,” Conjure One solidifies its purpose - Conjure One will forever be revered electronic/chillout act Delerium’s edgier, more stylish younger brother. With Bill Leeb, as Delerium, Rhys Fulber creates soundscapes that are organic, holy, reminiscent of a nostalgic past that perhaps never existed — and his solo project incorporates some of those ideas while marrying them with their polar opposites. Here the organic and synthetic will dance and the past is being romanticized from the vantage point of an apocalyptic future. Highlights include opener "Kill the Fear" with its teasing, moody piano keys intro that seems to tease a Delerium song — until the pulsing beat takes over to remind us we’re not in Delerium anymore, Toto; "Under the Gun" with its bubbling synths, soaring violins, and Leigh Nash vocals that are always perfectly at home on a Rhys Fulber production; the contemplative "All That You Leave Behind" that perfectly illustrates Conjure One’s strange intersection of the past and the future; and an epic collaboration with definitive Delerium vocalist Kristy Thirsk, “Ghost." Honorable mention to album closer “Oceanic" which sounds like Sigur Rós and Enya songs making love to the crashing beat of waves throwing themselves against a cold and desolate edifice.
2015-11-21
5. Awesome addition - Been a fan of Delerium for almost years now and was a fan of Conjure One from the start. This album is a great addition to Rhys Fulber’s work. I’m not sure anything in it is really groundbreaking, but there are a number of great songs here. Kill the Fear, Under the Gun (Leigh Nash is awesome in this song), Ghost, and The Garden are particularly notable. The entire album has a very spacey feel with its rich reverb, synths, and piano, so to some extent it harkens back to Delerium’s earlier dark ambient days (which is awesome).
2015-11-20
6. Very eclectic sound - The latest album by Conjure One has a more varied, eclectic sound than on past efforts. While the familiar guitar-driven, chillout styled songs are still present (Under the Gun, Ghost), there are others that are fast-paced, more dance oriented (All That You Leave Behind, Still Holding On). While this may give Holoscenic a less consistent feel than previous albums, it also demonstrates the continual changing sound of Conjure One and the genre. Overall, a great album.

1. Still AIR's greatest achievement!!! - This is probably my fav electronic album next to OMD's dazzle ships... and they both share a common thread... they bombed upon release.
Following in the heels of a smash debut and a well recieved soundtrack record, AIR took themselves to one of the most experimental (and in my opinion their BEST) levels ever...
, hz.
To describe this album would be impossible because it goes everywhere u never been before and once there, u never wanna leave.
Sadly, most fans hated this album for its lack of "la femme d'argent" sound and being challenged musically. I honestly feel this is a milestone record for music. Much like OMD's "dazzle ships" where electronic technology was pushed futher than ever before, ", hz" sounds like no other album ever recorded then or since.
Yes, music is subjective. it either moves u or it dont. But it breaks my heart this record is kinda lost...and it caused AIR to pull back and be less daring.(just like dazzzle ships,OMDs next album was way more mondane and safe...and it sucked) "Walkie talkie" is a ghost ofalready used ideas that are made safe but not nearly as rich or interesting as in ,hz.
maybe someday this album will recieve the attention it deserves. And maybe just like "dazzle ships" it will be finally hailed for the artisic achievement it is.

1. Songs? - C’mon. I was quite excited when I heard this was coming out, but it’s only songs from She’s So Unusual… not only that - but a couple of these mixes have already been released on the th Anniversary Edition. Where’s Money? She Bop? All Through the Night? This could have been SO much more. For a proper remix album, check out Amy Grant’s new release, In Motion: The Remixes.

2. Disappointing - This is a disappointing collection of remixes. If you already own the th anniversary edition of She’s So Unusual, I recommend buying solely the Alex Guadino and Lord Warddd remixes. The Nervo and Yolanda Be Cool remixes are almost identical to remixes on the th anniversary; Bent Collective is just an edit from the th anniversary; and Anamanaguchi is plain awful.

1. Headphone Commute Review - Here is how it goes… I accumulate music, re-listening to the standout albums over and over, until all of a sudden I simply can’t take it any longer, knowing that I must share with you my latest find. This month, in particular, has been somewhat saturated with amazing music, and I simply can’t keep up. I think that all of the year-long hibernation among the musicians is finally coming to an end, as they race to release the sounds they’ve been sitting on. For some of them, like Keith Kenniff, that means not just one album, but two. First up (and the focus of this write-up), is his long-awaited release as Helios – something every fan of his, I’m sure, has been looking forward to for a while! We last heard from Kenniff back in , I believe, when he released Moiety on his very own Unseen imprint. There was also a Remixed compilation, featuring reworks by some of your favorites, including Hammock, Ben Boysen, Rafael Anton Irisarri and Ulrich Schnauss. Plus, Kenniff has been busy working on film and digital media music, including works for Google, Starbucks, Apple, Pinterest and Facebook, accumulating in the process some accolades for his work on Prudential and Dove short films. This is, by the way, an important achievement, as I can share the pride and excitement for some of my favorite musicians to make a living doing what they love. Now back to Yume, which is immediately a very-much Helios album. Taking the title from a Japanese word for “dream”, Kenniff creates ethereal atmospheres full of beauty, optimism and hope. The overall textures on the album project a sense of elation, buoyancy and rose-colored drift. The sentimental glance back in the rear view mirror of life is shifted to the enthusiastic look forward, as the lone tear for all those once made mistakes drops and dries on the finally turned page. The major synth chords dance with the upbeat percussion, sparkling piano chords and blissful guitar. This is not to say that Yume is a hippy-go-lucky bubble-gum-pop – there are incredibly gorgeous and warm moments that will surely evoke lament, like a slow-rising sun spreading its light over all that is known, over all to become. "[Helios] delivers an otherworldly ambient/electronic hybrid that’s cinematic in scope yet intimate in emotion. In making the album, composer/multi-instrumentalist Keith Kenniff has created a warm sonic tapestry from luminous guitar lines, elegant piano work, ingeniously crafted rhythms, and lo-fi electronic elements." As part of the promotion for the release, Kenniff collaborated with visual artist Luke Twyman to produce an interactive website, where you can manipulate sound to explore this dream-like world, by dragging geometrical objects around the screen that effect and alter the music. You can check this out on the label’s site below. Also, and just as important if not more, remember me mentioning that Kenniff released not one album but two? Well, the second one, this time under his Goldmund moniker, deserves a completely separate write-up (as I will be obliged to do), featuring a collaboration with the one and only Ryuichi Sakamoto, currently out on Western Vinyl. If, for some amazing reason, you’re new to Helios, be sure to check out his past, and now classic, releases, Eingya (), Ayres () and Caesura (), all appearing on Type. Highly recommended!
2015-12-25
2. You Will Not Be Disappointed - Having listened to Helios and his other monikers (Goldmund and Keith Kenniff) over the last couple of years, I can say this album is a welcome addition to the repertoire of his work and this genre. Helios is really pushing the envelope of experimental sounds and textures that are apparent in many of these tracks but keeping his trademark smooth acoustic guitar and syncopated rythyms constant.

1. Not quite there yet - This EP, as well as Lido’s last EP, left a sense that Lido is a talented musician, classically/jazz trained who knows a thing or two about chord progressions and making sick grooves. However, the way he writes his songs fall short every time, and it’s really disappointing. He will do something really, really amazing, that blow my mind for about seconds, and then he’ll go and ruin it with a drastic change that has nothing to do with what came before or after, often lackluster in comparison to the kick-butt-ery that was happening before. He does not respond to context at all. In the way a one hit wonder writes one hit on an album and then a whole lot of meh, he writes a few seconds of brilliance followed by % of meh. The only difference is it’s in the span of a single song, which overall makes the entire album… meh. But even worse, there is no cohesion… at all. Ever. There are some artists who do this lack of cohesion really well. An example that comes to mind is Brian Scary. He does this in two ways. . The individual parts are so completely radically different, like say Bob Dylan one bar, polka the next, that he really commits to the jarring change of style. And . He has lyrics that continue the progression of the story in a meaningful way no matter what is happening musically. On the other hand you have Lido, who just sort of changes out of nowhere without any cohesion but it isn’t enough of a change to make you go “Alright, we’re going over here!”. Instead, it makes you go “Wait, what? What happened? Something cool was happening and then someone crashed the party and now it’s lame”. Finally comes his choices of software instruments. Again, one moment he is killing it, with a fresh batch of sounds that are an example of the progress that has been made since the beginning of electronic music when it comes to the dynamic and full bodied sounds that are possible today. Then all of a sudden he is in s MIDI territory, using artificial string and brass sounds that are absolutely terrible. Again, you can pull this off if you REALLY commit to it, or use it in a comical way, like the way Laszlo did on his album Cartoon Hero, which is basically a homage to s synth sounds. Otherwise, it sounds, for a lack of a better term, wrong. Lazy. Misaligned with the whole. Out of context. And perhaps this is a sign of his age. He is not musically mature enough o understand the effect of his choices. Right now he is probably thinking “Dude like totally gonna throw this sick change in over here and throw the listener off, it will be sick!” Instead, the listener goes, “Huh? What just happened and why…” It’s a skill that will require time to cultivate. And, unfortunately, time that is not available in this industry of “hit and run”. Even if he does get better it will be too late. It’s yesterday’s news.

1. The return was well worth the wait - Sometimes when artists disappear for a while, just dropping tracks here and there, I get worried that their full length albums will fall short. Not the case here, Krush is a master of his craft and he keeps on pushing his sound. This has all of the tranquil beauty that he's known for plus his dark beats that are rich with bass and rolls. This is a great album beginning to end. Fans of DJ Krush already know his abilities to create art with his music and people new to him will hear for themselves.

1. Great Stuff to listen to. Stop trying to label it and let you're imagination go. - Frusciante's composing style produces an out of this world experience for the listener. Throughout the album he makes use of repetition and transition to beatiful effect. There are many twist and turns from one part to the next throuhout. There are many climatic parts in each song that are so sweet sounding you can listen to them all day. Listening to this album had me fantasizing of some futuristic place where human knowledge has accumulated over the thousands of years and made sense of so many misteries of today. Sorry I'm a sc-fi type. For those who are not fimilair with his lastest work in electronica you may, ah screw it, you WILL be alienated. If you're expecting a guy to sing to you with his guitar there is tons of stuff out there. Instead, what you'll find here are the fundamentals of composition that are universal troughout all music just in a different medium. When we listen to any song there is structure underneath creating what you hear. But if you're not comfortable listening to a different medium (guitar vs sythns) then if may mean you're not ready for this.

2. Ok for electronic music - I respect John for moving forward with electronic music. Having said that, that doesn't mean I enjoy this album. I love John when his music is less complicated. For me all he needs is a guitar, mic, and to start singing. All I want to hear is that voice and guitar playing. He has been blessed with an amazing talent, that is at it's best, when kept simple!
