1. Simply..... AMAZING!!!! - This has to be one of the best studio mastered live performances!!! This reminds me of all the great sets that I would download when Digweed was over at Kiss. It brings me back to some of the most incredible times in NYC at Twilo dancing the night away and wondering why people even bothered going to Sound Factory to hear JP!! The th mix just smacks you in the face and has you flying high all the way to the end!!

2. Live in Argentina - I've not been a big fan of the Live in Series....mainly cause I'm used to the Digweed of the past (following the man since the early s). But this part CD is truly reflective of what must have been a series of amazing parties. Digweed is the DJ who has always stayed ahead of his contemporaries championing the early Rennaissance sound with Sasha and then pretty much creating the genre dark progressive at Twilo, NYC. I pretty much attended every one of his parties at Twilo so can truly testify on the long dark sets. This album has got a good blend of driving techno and overall great music. The buildup is excellent. Really enjoying this so far.

3. INCREDIBLE!!! - The first hour seemed very slow and was in tuned to the culture and each track was great. It felt like the second hour took you back a bit some older sounds which was incredible and the tracks picked up and very easily it transitioned to Digweeds perfect mix as always. . . .Im almost to the last hour . . .The first three were incredible. . .BEST I own. . love it. .

2. Excellent Mix, missing tracks! - Spectacular mix. Just wanted to let everyone know that there are singles that are missing from this album on iTunes. I noticed this when I was listening to the actual live mixes and trying to find some of my favorite tracks in single form. Despite the missing tracks I still gave it stars because the mix is amazing. Below are the missing tracks: Hyena-The Chase
Nick Warren-Alta
Sven Vath-L’Esperenza (Ame Reinterpretation)

3. John Digweed in Progressive music. - John Digweed still going strong unlike other DJs/Producers and there are few left like him: James Zabiela, Sasha, Nick Warren and Hernan Cattaneo. It is sad what has become to EDM scene if wan’t for DJs like Digweed EDM will just be part of another generic Pop genre.

4. Digweed just keeps taking the victory laps, rightly so - What other DJ in EDM history has released an entire commercially consumable series of live-mixed sets? NONE. Because no one else can actually do that and save face. The others put their mixes together in the studio. Everyone likes to say their favorite DJ is the best. Well here's a real reason, not just because your roll was tasty. These live sets are why Digweed is a master of men. Not only is it essential Digweed fare, but essential for any EDM fan of the current or former scene that needs a living historical testament to what the best of the best sounded like live. Digweed is the only DJ that can truly get me excited about dance music anymore. He outright has the most highly consistent levels of impressive track selection, and unfailingly flawless mixing, a mastery no other can touch. Digweed isn't just in a league by himself, he IS the league, the league of undeniable extraordinary skill, and holding that skill at unparalleled levels for decades now on end. He has beyond proven himself. Flawless set after flawless set. He just picks and chooses which ones to publish. There's no studio BS here. It's % live and real, raw realism in the moment. This whole series is unprecedented. He just made a mockery of mostly every other EDM DJ on the planet. Digweed is the only one that can back up his flawless mastery in this most public way. Record the sets, and sell them. A ton of them. Unbelievable. In Toronto, he bangs this one in pretty good. Not harder, like Slovenia, but just relentless power. A decided throwback to those darker days filled with unending power. But like classic Digweed, there's everything here you have come to expect to hear in his sets. He can play a wide diversity of sets and styles, while maintaining the Digweed sound that he owns entirely. This set is classic, classic Digweed peak hour set time perfection. It's heavy. You gotta be ready for this. It's not a casual listen. Digweed ensures your brain will be mud afterward. Of course, he doesn't need more than bpm or hard tech to do it. What he does do with his skill set and available tools is something special, it may never be quite like this again. And he's still going.

1. Masterful - Leave it to a veteran like John Digweed to push dance to new places. Mastery like this can't be captured on one or two "discs." All of his live albums are fantastic and the just keep getting better. This one may just take the cake, but Montreal might still be my favorite. Hours of build-up. You can't pre-plan a set like this. It's just a man with endless knowledge of the tracks in his "box."

2. John Digween proves why he is the best. - I had the change to caught John Digweed perform this set live in Brooklyn on NYE / and once again Digweed proves why he is the best at his game for the past years. This is one of the best sets he has done brings back memories from his gigs at Twilo in the late s.

1. Incredible Live Mix! - I have a pretty bias opinion when it comes to John Digweed. I started listening to him in the ’s and followed him to different cities and venues as much as I could. He’s a true pioneer of electronic music and I feel lucky to have been able to enjoy the evolution of his music and growth of the Bedrock label over the years. When the “Live In” series kicked off, I was of course buying every album. It seems like each series gets better and “Live in Tokyo” certainly makes the mark, living up to the hype. A steal of a buy as a download or purchase from John’s website through big cartel for all music lovers of house and techno. I highly recommend “Live in Tokyo” and am jealous of those who were there during the recording!

1. expertly crafted minimal techno - With the other positve reviews, I will have to say that most peoples' understanding of techno is generally limited to driving dance beats. However, techno, started quite differently almost years ago. Alex Smoke has taken experimentalism and merged it with techno, and has done a suporb job. This album is very reminiscent of Ritchie Hawtin mixed with Aphex Twin; it is not typical and it is not what some people call "Techno" but nevertheless, it is techno -- very deep and experimental, and it works well.

2. very nice! - This reminds me a little of Mike Ink only more melodic and less minimal. It's nice to hear some tunes in there with the techno again! I've loved the Soma label for years and it's really cool to see them releasing their newest releases so quickly onto intunes! Those of you who dig this will love the Vector Lovers stuff so be sure to check that as well. And is track seven a homage to Final Fantasy or what?? Oh, a note to AAA who wrote a review about this, asking people to "please understand what techno is before posting a positive review". AAA gave a five star review to Scooter of all things, which is nothing more than a piece of cheesy trance garbage which couldn't be any more removed from the roots of techno. Hey AAA, it's obvious that you are criminally clueless so do YOU want to understand what techno is? If so, I recommend you go and discover the true roots which were planted in Detroit years ago with artists such as Juan Atkins and Derrick May. Don't be so ignorant and think before you attempt to spout your ideas without evidence. This Alex Smoke CD, as a piece of techno, is a classy one and it works. PERIOD.

3. TRYING to push the boundaries - Alex Smoke is trying to push TECHNO (that's right) into new territory. The genre has been stuck in a holding pattern for odd on years now, but thanks to people like Smoke and Richie Hawtin TECHNO is finally starting to get interesting again. This is not for the main room, but the sweaty back room or Amnesia. and finally TECHNO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. Enter the journey of youthful love... - If you know what it’s like to be young and in love or would to know how that feels, whether it’s for the first time or again, then this is the album for you. . All Possible Futures starts off with “American Dream,” a song that might seem like a fun lighthearted song at first, until you realize that when it repeatedly sings “Why don’t you listen to yourself?,” it really is asking you listen to your deepest desires, even if they might seem a bit farfetched or impossible at first. It is a song that exudes hope and possibility, as well as a chance to explore long lost dreams that you would have never dreamed of returning to once again. “American Dream” is a fantastic song that helped set the onset mood of album, and therefore I give it a /. . “Real Slow (feat. Sarah Chernoff)” is the next song, a song that I personally deem one of my most favorite songs of all time. The song literally continues to ask the listener to take the first steps to opening his heart— and mind, assuring that love is within his reach, and if he is willing, they can take it real slow. (/) . “Love Like Mine (feat. Cleopold)” is song about falling so irresistibly deep in love with another person that you can’t keep your mind off of him or her. You can’t eat, sleep, or do anything without dreaming of him or her— why, you ask? Because like the song’s lyrics, you know that You can't find a love like mine. Not one of my favourites, but still nonetheless fantastic. (/) . “Cellophane (So Cruel) [feat. Aaron Miller & Gavin Turek]” is about desire and lust. It’s pretty self explanatory, the lyrics taste of your lips so haunting kind of prove that so. It’s really no different than teasing someone you’re interested in, making the chase worthwhile and fun for the time being. (/) . “Wild Motion ( Set It Free)” is about trying to let those newfound insecurities about love go. You’re so in love with this person that you will do anything to dispel those fears, just to enjoy that precious feeling of being in love again. From getting high to staring at the clouds at the beach, you know you can’t really do anything about it so you try to let those negative thoughts of loss and insecurities free. (/) . “(Into the Night)” There are no lyrics in this number. Only passion. (/) . “Colours in the Sky (feat. Cleopold)” is about enjoying and living in the moment. After all, how many times in your lifetime do you get to experience pure bliss and happiness? Sometimes merely getting lost in the colours of the sky is enough. (/) . “All It Ever Was” makes my heart ache. You’re so deeply and irrevocably in love that you will literally wait forever for that person— no matter what. Even if he or she doesn’t love you anymore, you don’t care. You secretly knew coming into this relationship that love does not last, but you chose to dive deep into its ocean anyways, even if it meant losing yourself and everything you had before. (/) .”(Maybe I Need You)” Constantly waiting and waiting for that someone… when will it ever end? Maybe you do need them afterall. (/) . “Out of Sight” is about indignance. You gave her everything. Does she really want to miss out on everything this relationship has to offer? Only time will tell. (/) . “Stranger (feat. Future Unlimited)” Slowly tearing us apart/There's nothing left to think or say/We'll never be that way. Like the beginning, you’re strangers again. You gave them love, and all they had to offer was disappointment. So you part ways, avoiding them at every chance (or as it may seem to him/her). It’s ending, and no matter how much you hate to admit it— it’s over. (/) . “Who Is Gonna Save Us?” Desperate for a sign. Desperate for her. Lying stretched out on the floor, walking through the hallways alone, memories fading… We don't belong, we can't belong. (/) And the signs have died
And the knots lay undone, we are
Waiting for you, waiting for a sign . (Happy Without You) is about trying to convince yourself of something you don’t believe nor want to believe. Honestly, you just feel dead inside. (/) . “Another Rise, Another Fall” Sometimes things have to end for better things to come— right? If only that was so easy. (/) . “Forever Ever?” happens when some time has passed and you’re only adequately strong enough to look back on the past relationship. Like the sun in her eyes… You’ve finally accepted that the relationship has ended and all you can do is move on. The question mark begs to differ, however. (/)

1. Synchronicity! - The composition of this album is truly inspired. It uniquely combines well crafted melody with vibrant, driving rhythm using a variety of angelic female vocals and polished electronica. 1. Amazing - When I first heard this in a club while I was in college, I was high on a late night of fun and imbibing of spirits and had never heard this famous piece done in this manner... took me away. Blew me away. I think the whole club was in a trance during the entirety of this song. It was one of the most amazing club moments I ever experienced.

1. Backwards step. - Samaris' first two albums were brilliant and lush and haunting and mysterious and beautifully sung in Icelandic. This album lacks the lush clarinet melodies and is sung in English. Please don't give in to whatever producer is telling you to pander to us English speakers! (Yes, me! I don't speak a word of Icelandic and that ads to the beautiful mystery of the music.) It's not a "bad" album, the vocals are serene, it's just that the previous efforts were so much better. And I apologize for being bad with foreign names, but what exactly is the clarinet player doing on this album? All I hear is vocals and a drum machine.

2. Disappointing, lacking all previous warmth - Some beautiful singing and angelic yelps, but it's all undermined by endlessly manic, staccatto, artificial drum n' bass rhythms and spazzy twitches that detract from the potential of this music and this (potentially terrific) band, and throw it all backwards, making it dated and cold. This is a far icier, thin, less inviting record than the ethereal, warm and melodic music on their previous release, Silkidrangar. Samaris is a young and terrifically talented band, so they have time to figure out their "true" sound. But I hope they don't wait too long. Unsolicited advice: Experiment with your sound all you like, but strip out the warmth, neglect melody and overprogram your spazzy drum machine at your peril.

1. Grew on me - If you can give this album a few listens, it'll grow on you. He said in an interview that he was inspired by AFX and I've listened to a lot of AFX's stuff and I find Trickfinger's work to be so much more addicting. It's like I NEED to listen to it. I first found the album on youtube and after listening to it over a dozen times, I realized I had to buy it. If you like acid house or electronica/dance music, give this a few listens and if you didn't like it right away, I really think it'll grow on you.

1. Finally! - It’s about time the I Love “Techno” compilation mix series started featuring ACTUAL techno instead of various types of general electronica that actually have about as much in common with true techno as Guns and Roses or Metallica. I realize the festival has become a melange of all types of electronic music, so they should just take a live mix from Awakenings and market it as an I Love Techno CD instead of passing off electro house and breakbeat as techno. That said, it looks like they finally got someone with a pretty good idea of what the various genres within electronic music actually sound like to put this together. Here’s to the underground! Mnml never, techno forever! Now if we can just get Richie to go back to M_nus Orange form, all will be right with the world. ;-)
