1. Ho-Hum - While the productionu here is poished and tight, I hear nothing particularly inventive or distinct here from any number of other similar artists nor their earlier output. There seems to be points at which some of these tunes could soar, but then they just pivot to the same ol' same ol'. I respectfully suggest other offerings.

2. Good to get back to real writing... - Saw them on a random show called ditty tv, I heard old news and had to have this album! So good to hear “old school” southern rock with some great writing and meaningful lyrics instead of “pop produced” fake country! Love this band, love your sound! Keep going until you are breaking all records, you will with writing like this!!

3. Refreshing and soulful - The only word I can think of to describe this album is refreshing. The country pop radio and Hollywood stars that infiltrated have ruined modern day country. This album gets back to the deep, soulful and heartfelt songs. These songs tell stories in conjunction with meaty guitar riffs and emotional vocals. The more you listen, the better they get. There are no songs that seem to be “fillers” and bore me. Each song is a new experience. I look forward to their future releases.

4. Worth every cent - By far the best album out this year. Killer job on this album from the Steel Woods. Last album was great but this one surpassed that one for sure! Great to see some good music coming out of Nashville for a change. Blind Lover, Rock that says my Name, Without You, and Anna Lee have been played on repeat since I’ve purchased this album.

5. Good Music Is Still Possible - I purchased their album prior to this and could listen to the tracks start to finish, and this second album is just a continuation of that appreciation. It's great to hear a group that has excellent story telling in their lyrics, while incorporating strong instrumentals as well. These guys need to come out West, I really want to hear them live. If you're looking for something different than the poptry that floods the radio today, don't hesitate to purchase.

6. Everything country music wishes it was - This band writes such deep lyrics about things other than trucks, girls, and beer. The talent these guys have is absolutely insane, and they have truly set themselves apart and shown themselves to be far more in touch with their roots than any other “country” group.

7. Talent Run Deep - It’s not often you get the opportunity to hear an overly talented band who can write deep, moving songs that touch your heart. The Steels Woods, tagged a deep Southern Rock band is more. Listen to them. Listen to the lyrics they write. They are deep. You’ll hear blues, country, southern rock and a soulful southern gospel sound too. I can’t wait to hear this new album fully. Straw in the Winds was a definite star, Old News is too — so I would be highly surprised if this sophomore album would be any less.

1. This is some FINE Outlaw Country, old school style! - Ran across this while I was perusing the country section in the iTunes store, gave it a listen and bought it. This is a real gem and seems to be on the verge of making the big time. This is not over-produced Nashville pap, this is the real deal outlaw country with swing and zest. Give it a listen and you'll conjure up images of Waylon and Chris Stapleton. Good stuff and look forward to more in the future.

2. Deserving - I've been following these guys for a few years now and find that I usually default back to this cd at the end of the day. Extremely underrated in my opinion and very deserving of some serious touring time across the states. With a solid band and vocals this band is due to break out of Cali and go nation wide. Good luck boys you deserve it.

1. True country - So many artists have sold their souls to Nashville. It is refreshing that some people still stay true to the original country/Texas swing roots and don't sell out. The new "country" is miserable, soulless and uncreative. You can't feel the emotions without a music video. With these guys, you can feel the emotion just over the audio. So thankful that I can still hear great country! Thanks Ray and Dale!

1. Timeless!! - Timeless music is becoming a thing of the past.. RAW paints pictures of real life pain and struggle with his lyrics. Even his funny stuff is dark and lonesome, if you pay attention. 1. Love Bit Logic! - Another collection of tunes well done by Brian and the band. Love every one of these songs as they all tell a story. Why aren’t these guys bigger and more well known than they are? Probably the genre label. But still one of the finest group of musicians in the land. I love the first two albums, but their work spans much further than that, and ends up just as good or better. The musicianship just gets better with time. If you’ve never heard them, put down your phone, PlayStation and Xbox and give it a listen. It will make you feel humble and happy. Now if we can just get them to do a show south of Dallas or San Antonio! I live north of Corpus Christi and have never seen them live. But I have been a fan from the git go! Stars!

1. Dallas kicks tail. - Awesome. Outlaw Country is alive and well. Dallas kicked tail with this one! Acoustic and hardcore. I love it. And one of my favorite things about it is it's solid from top to bottom. There are no bad songs on this album. No filler songs. Just quality country music they're scared to play on the radio!

1. So what if you don’t like it?? - I have been a fan of Brahma Bull for years. Yeah, he is different, he is typically more country especially with his band Moccasin Creek this is more rap. However, outlaw country has always been the type thats different and says so what to the haters. So I like the genre… SO WHAT IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT??? Keep up the good work Brahma I’ll support you!!!

2. So Proud!! - Anyone who rates this as "horrible music" obviously needs to retouch on their taste in music. Most "country music" out there today is complete trash, whether you want to admit it or not. This is simply an awesome person (who just so happens to also be my dad) telling his story through the universal language of music. I personally love him and his music with all my heart. This is a person who has been through hell and still pulls through for his friends, family, and fans. If you have a problem with it, then don't buy the album. But you're making a huge mistake if you don't. You're an idiot if you think half the crap out there today is any better than this. I love you, Jeff. Keep on being you and making more amazing music.

3. Gotta know Brahma and MC - If you don't know who brahma bull or moccasin creek is, this music style may sound bad, but the lyrics and past albums hold true. The rap aspect has been done before in traditional country, for example, Garth Brooks's song "Ain't goin' down" is a perfect example, fast passed lyrics, even Johnny cash had his fast songs. Bottom line, have an open mind to new songs and styles, even if it doesn't sound traditional, the lyrics are where the beef is!

New "classic" rock from Swamp da Wamp... - The latest Swamp da Wamp CD, "That Easy", is a treat for anyone looking for a mix of modern country/southern style aesthetic with old-school, feel good rock & roll style. All ten tracks are excellent, and the entire album, ringing with multiple guitars, violin, banjo, Hammond B- organ, and excelent lead and background vocals,crosses genres frequently to have a feel all its own. With a predominant focus on Country or Southern rock, the album seamlessly crosses into Modern rock, Blues, Pop, and even Adult Contemporary territory. The album production is excellent, as well, and manages to harness some of the band's "live" feel. Some highlights include the title track, "That Easy", a yearning Blues-rock ballad that manages a true Classic-rock vibe; "Two Wheels", a real toe-tapper with a driving bass-line, and features both vocalists at their best; "Devil in My Whiskey", a Modern rock marvel, with a dirty, hammering beat, and smokin' guitars; "My Drinking Song", a fun old-Country-style party song; "Changes", a beautiful country-rock ballad; "Happy Anniversary", a heart-rending and lovely duet; and "She's Country", the only "cover" tune on the album, which categorically lays waste to Jason Aldean's original version. The final three songs fill out the album nicely, with "I Am" and "Rollin'" bringing the power, and "Fat Boy" sending an immediate and powerful message. A genuine -star album, this album will be adored by anyone who grew up loving REAL rock & roll.

2. Whipass!!!!!! - What an album! No fillers on this one. This is southern music at it's finest. I've been following these guys for several years. This album is the best they've done yet. Killer vocals and blazing guitars with an outstanding rhythm section. The songs tell stories. The music has lots of changes. These guys ooze tallent from every pore. I definately reccomend this album. Don't just buy one song. You'd be missing out on some fantastic music.

3. WOW!! - Every single track on this album stands alone. They are all spectacular. The vocals, the music, it is such an amazing mixture of any mood you could possibly be it. This band is certainly on the rise and going places. I can’t wait to see them live. I must say, the artwork for this album is the best I have ever seen. It was done by Jay Haiden, look him up, he has amazing credentials.

Deeply personal songs with a funky country delivery - Jim Casey explained to me how this album came to be most profoundly influenced by the music of the Band, everyone was trying to sound like the Band at the time. The songwriting is more intimate and personal and the music is more country flavored than the Band. These songs are about and based on real people that existed once upon a time in a sleepy southern town of Kingston Springs, Tennessee, that lies miles west of Nashville, in the beautiful Harpeth River valley. This is a beautiful slice of life from a simpler and more thoughtful time.
