Missing a Few Old songs - Excellent album, it is missing a few Old Buck songs like I Las Vegas )or Vegas), or Iwouldn't Live In New York City if they gave me the whole damn town- which he sang at Carnigee hall. Interesting tidbit- Merle Haggard played in his band briefly- stoled his woman but thats a whole nother story, anyway Merle is the one who named Bucks band the Buckaroos- or so legend goes, Buy this if you like Buck If you love Buck you probaby already have it!

2. Country at it's best - Buck Owens will forever be one of the best country singers of all time, this album captures his greatness. All of the songs on this album are good, they all stand out. I'm very glad that Buck taught one todays greatest country artists Dwight Yoakam. If you're a fan of country music, I highly recomend this album, you will not be dissipointed.

3. Country Music - If Buck Owens doesn't embody what country music was all about during the Sixties, I don't know who does. Always there with clever word usage (ala Roger Miller) and, with Don Rich, some of the greatest country harmonies and a good balance between misery and fun, Buck knew his time and his audience. I heard that John Fogarty was a fan: do, do, do looking out his backdoor.

4. The boom at Buck's place! - This music is classic and so was Buck. Unfortunatly the sound produced from these recordings doesn't contain half the depth and fullness one recieved when watching Buck live. When this music came through the speakers at the Crystal Palace it sounded as if these songs were written yesterday. This CD is like a photograph that can't compare to the real thing. But when a picture is all that is left, it will have to do.

1. Ronnie Dunn is a Classic - Full discloser I've been a Brooks and Dunn fan since I was a kid. I have all of Ronnie Dunn's solo albums, but I think this is the best yet. It takes you back to his honky tonk roots and you feel every ounce of it. My favorite song is Two Steppers Waltzes and Shuffles. I only wish the album had more songs on it!

2. Made my night.... - Ronnie Dunn has Jake Worthington singing on one of his songs. It’s a great song and they sound great together. That was really nice of Ronnie to put Jake on there. Ronnie Dunn is amazing and I hope Jake gets a shot in the industry he is a good artist and I wish him the best. Hats off to you Ronnie for doing that . It’s out and it’s my birthday and I love the whole album .

1. Delightfully Old-Fashioned - Today I bought the album Jacob Tovar and the Saddle Tramps from iTunes. I’ve listened to it all the way through three times, and now I’m listening to it for the fourth time as I write this. And I’m sure I’ll be listening to the album much more in the future. Before I give you my opinion, I’ll give you my five-year old daughter’s opinion: she loved it! As soon as see heard it, she started dancing, and she kept twirling around for a good fifteen or twenty minutes. And now I’ll blab about what I think about the album. I first heard about Jacob Tovar a few months ago through the Secret Sister’s Facebook page. I saw that the Secret Sisters did some concerts with him, and they recommended him, so I did some googling. All I found were a couple of songs on Sound Cloud, one of which was “Good Spirits.” I played the song and instantly loved it. I played it over and over and over. And I thought, “Wow, this guy is so good. Why doesn’t he have any more music available?” But then I saw that he had an album coming out eventually, so I decided I would get the album as soon as it was released, and that’s what I did. If you like Hank Williams Sr. and old-fashioned country music, you’ll like Jacob Tovar. When you listen to it, you might be surprised that you’re listening to an album that was released only a week ago, because it sounds so much older and richer. The emphasis on this album is the vocals and the lyrics. Tovar’s unique singing style is front and center. I think my favorite song is still “Good Spirits,” but I don’t think there’s a song on here I don’t like. I love the way I can understand what he’s saying. So many bands these days have singers that you can’t understand because you literally can’t decipher what the singer is singing. The lyrics also have a directness that I love in classic country music. In a way the lyrics are simple, but they tap into a universal human experience. Most of the lyrics from Joe Pug, or Imagine Dragons, or the Killers, for example, are too confusing or vague or artsy. I guess what I’m saying is, it shouldn’t take a lot of work to enjoy music. I get the feeling that Jacob Tovar could be backed up by just about any good guitarist or drummer. The focus on these songs is the vocals. And that’s how a lot of the old-timey country music was: very heavy on vocals. I doubt this album will ever get played on the radio, unless it’s Internet radio. There aren’t any radio-friendly hits with mass appeal. The album was recorded in a studio, but it has a live sound to it, meaning that it doesn’t sound doctored up and remixed and remixed again. Five of these songs are covers of old country songs, but I’ve never heard the songs before, so they’re new to me. I’m thirty two years old. I wonder what elderly people would think about the way Jacob Tovar sings. Overall it’s a great album and I’m glad I bought it.

1. Classic honky tonk - I was a Red Steagall back in the ''s when I was a college student in Austin. I heard Red live in Fort Worth, my hometown once and it was one of the best honky tonk performances I had ever attened and danced to the music. It doesn't get much better than this for pure Texas honky tonk music. Thanks, Red, for releasing some of your original recordings in digital form. My old LPs just don't make it anymore compared to being able to listen to Red any time I wish on my iPhone. Great music!
