5. Black and White - This album is black and white in this gray world! Man I was pleasantly surprised because I clicked on this for the hell of it (no offense - but I wouldn’t consider myself Christian), but this album sounds great! I will bump this in my ride and if it brings more Christians as Im Bumpin “Da Truth” in my car with my windows rolled down, that’s cool. Anyway, I hope Da Truth can read this…I want you to know that you are kickass man!

6. VERY disappointed - This is a huge step back for Truth. Coming off a classic album, Love Hope & War, Heartbeat is left lacking substance, creativity, and musicianship. With the exception of Moment of Truth and Love Hope & War, I feel like Truth is never fully invested into his music. He's distracted and it comes out in the music....too many features; beats are unoriginal. Disappointed

This album has too much pop/techno for my tastes, plus I think some of the lyrics got corny at a certain point. This album may be perfect for some people, but not a traditional hip hop fan. 2. Quality hip hop - Christian rap use to be really corny. Now with quality christian rappers like Pro, Lecrae, and Skrip, the lines between secular and christian hip hop are very blurred. This album is really well produced and can be enjoyed by any real hip hop fan. As America because increasingly urbanized and poor, it has given birth to a new age of artist. No longer do you have to be a certain race or rap about drugs and sex to be considered legit. The field is becoming racially more diverse and the rap topics are more interesting, diverse and relatable. It's a great time for hip hop artist and fans.

Awesome Album - Honestly, this is the very first time I've heard of any Skrip's work and I was so upset because I couldn't believe I had not listen to anything prior to this album because this album was great! His style is different and I really enjoy it! It's literally the only thing I've been listening to since I downloaded it haha!

4. Surprisingly Creative - I have never owned a Skrip album before this one. I have barely heard him before this. Usually when i purchase random albums, i am somewhat disappointed. That being said, This album does NOT disappoint! This album has satisfied my inner audiophile. It has excellent production quality, creative writing and mind blowing delivery. BUY THIS! You won't regret it!

5. No word can describe this... - There comes a time in which your favorite artist comes out with a new album you have been waiting for. Unfortunately sometimes that album has a song or two that you don't really like and you may skip over a track or two. When it comes to THIS MASTERPIECE however, THAT WAS NOT AN ISSUE!! Every single track is amazing in its own way. From the fresh lyrics to the smooth vocals, Renegades Never Die is an amazing work of art from start to finish.

6. Fall Down The Stairs Awesome - Been bumpin the free-view for the last week in anticipation of it's release. So excited that it's finally out! Each track has a smooth transition and tie to the track before. The album is a meticulously crafted sound with no coincidences or accidental add ins. Although its Skrip's label debut, he kept in mind to tie in his free projects from the years passed making it an almost cinematic score to a climactic scene. The wide vocal style and fusion of popular beats in addition to lesser heard styles or combinations of music make Renegades Never Die a well rounded project that show cases the possibilities of what to expect from such a young, talented and multi-faceted album. Be sure to pair each song with the "Behind The Beat" & documentaries to fully grasp the heart and meaning of such a strategically crafted album.

I don’t particularly agree with your argument about curse words, HOWEVER I appreciate the fact that you spent time studying Scriptures to prove your point instead of nitpicking. 2. Do For One - Ruslan has been one of my favorite emcees since I first heard theBreax self titled release under Rawkus. Since the beginning he has had a definite difference to his delivery, content, and style that has been missing from christian hip hop. This album is a great work of art - a complete album. In the vein of Swoope’s “Wake Up” and Kendrick Lamar’s “GKMC” as it is best if you listen to it from start to finish. The album has great production and great features, but Ruslan is ultimately the one that shines the most through it all. You can tell he took his time working on this one, as his delivery is as sharp as I’ve ever heard from ANY artist. Although I miss the days where every song featured both him and Beleaf (theBREAX) this record is still nothing to be overlooked. If you are a fan of hip hop with a strong message then this one cannot be overlooked.

3. Junkie - So this is defiantly a dope album and you should get it asap. Dream Junkies have really found a unique lane in the hip-hop scene. Ruslan I give you a / because I got a lotta love for ya but I've heard some songs by you and I know you got more in you (not saying this is bad). You're tons better since your first album. Production got a lot better too. I would say be patient with this next album. Don't feel rushed but reflect your good King well by making good art and continuing to cultivate/steward your gifts well and make high art just like you're King does. Keep dreamin bruh. Love.

4. Due Respect - Ruslan is a highly overlooked and underrated artist. He's released some great solo projects (The Prequel EP, Carry On, Out of It EP) and he's played a major role in two groups (TheBreax and Dream Junkies). However, he's still being slept on. This new album, Do For One, is his best work to date. The concept, the production, and lyricism are top notch. Hopefully after hearing Do For One people will give Ruslan his due respect.

1. Let’s Be Honest - I’m gonna be transparent about this album. I was expecting to hear “Da Truth” that spit them bars that were hard. I’m talking about the rapper who sounded a little like jay z and whose lyrics were full of theological content as well as concepts. I’m talking bout that dude that rapped a response to the whole Illuminati / Da Vinci Code narrative. That dude that was social conscious and theological sound. That dude who spit on lyrics were way better than the beat he rapped over. However, I got someone who’s content is ok and who music sounds like them dirty south rappers of today’s post modern era. Manny, if you are reading this, return back to your original flow. It was crazy and bananas! The content was better. The lyrics were better. The music was better. You are still a pioneer in my eyes. Those of us who grew up on hip hop, like yourself, understand that we adapt with the times. However, your sound, flow and lyrics were timeless. In a world of water-downed copy cats, you stood out. This album makes you blend back in.

2. Depressing! Where did the Joy of evangelism go!? - Been a fan since day one, just the title of this album bothers me! Who or what is Da Truth, but a vessel for Christ! It seems like a depressing project focussing on Emmanuel no longer being relevant!! Lost identity, Seems he is too worried about keepin’ up instead of feeding the sheep like he used to.. Bring back that theologian T.R.U.T.H..! That Mr. Lambert that used to get me pumped. I feel like all these positive reviews are out of sympathy.. honestly! Listenin’ to this album made me want to jump off a cliff more than anything! I am not even trying to be a hater! Does John Piper change his preaching because a younger and newer preacher comes out? Naw! He has the best news in the world to preach about and people filling his church based on this good news and his delivery for decades regardless of popular culture! You have millions of fans wanting and depending on the T.R.U.T.H. in the midst of a dying culture, but you want to make music for those kids who were never fans and try to explain to them you are a forerunner and vet? Thanks, real encouraging! Maybe I am miscalculated, but I have all your projects, even your early DVD release.. We need another “Big picture” or “complicated” album.. A_mazing Album! - I downloaded this album right before a road trip, and I’m glad I did because if my trip had a been a short around-town one, I probably would’ve just sat in my car until I heard every track...because of the message in each one. They tell Da T.R.U.T.H.’s story, but God’s glory is seen all over his story through these songs. And anyone in ministry for Christ in any capacity can relate. Every believer can relate, period. The beats and melodies are good, but the messages are what stand out in all tracks - and that’s what matters most.
