1. Some catchy tunes, but too bloated for a hits album - I've always enjoyed the Ramones hits when i hear them. They're catchy, fun and make for good driving tunes. Though I can barely understand what Joey Ramone is singing, their songs still sound neat. Aside from about songs in their entire catalog, however, the rest of their music is grating, rote, and dumb. Most of the Ramones songs have short, dumb lyrics and they're super repetitive. Most songs are practically mono-syllabic and they just repeat a key phrase over and over again like your average Kiss song - another band with very dumbed down lyrics. They have the same basic formula for every song. Short tune with driving guitar chords that don't really deviate, change or explore and a handful of lyrics. The words didn't really even seem to matter much. They were more cosmetics than any kind of idea or meaning they were trying to get across. There really wasn't much talent needed to throw together a Ramones album. It was more personna than musical skill. They're a far less talented band than they get credit for. The problem with this album is that it's bloated. A hits album for a good band doesn't have so many throwaways and such a low average star rating. All of their good songs added together still clock in at less than minutes of music. That's to songs for normal bands/artists. The stats for this album are zero star songs, one star song in Blitzkreig, seven star songs, four star songs and throwaways. That is a shameful number of junk "hits" for a band afforded such lofty status. Most of the throwaways are stacked towards the end of the album as they tried desperately to get enough short songs to fill up an average length album. By the end of this experience, my mind was numbed - and not in a good way.

1. Great album - Great album but I’m confused ...If anyone can help me I would most likely appreciate it. so the thing is this album is years old right regarding its th anniversary. but the math seems to be bothering me a little bit when it says th anniversary. I subtracted from that makes it when this album was released in and you add that much to or subtracted i mean it adds up to years so when they announced it a th anniversary was supposed to round up to that or was it just something else that I’m completely forgetting and missing if so please let me know....

2. Fantastic album, but iTunes version audio quality makes it unlistenable - To anyone that reads this review and loves this album (and if you ARE reading this, you should because it's an awesome surf punk record), don't buy it on iTunes unless you just want to give them money. I repeat: DO NOT BUY THIS VERSION OF LIVING IN DARKNESS. The source they uploaded this album download from is HORRIBLE. I'm not even an audiophile, but I can't stress this enough; pull up Living In Darkness on YouTube and you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. Starting with the song "A Cry for Help in a World Gone Mad" (my personal favorite) the whole rest of the album gets drowned out in an unbearable mess of clipping and compression. AACGain was reading most of the album at dB volume before I applied any volume changes. One track even reached ! That's way too loud and it shows. Drop the volume down and you'll still hear the terrible clipping, and if you don't hear that you'll hear how muffled this whole download of the album is. There's no clarity in any of the instruments or vocals at all compared to any other released version of the album or it's B-sides. TLDR PSA: Buy this album, because it's fantastic, but buy it literally anywhere else unless you want to give them money and that's it. This download version is dreadful and makes a classic literally sound like it's covered in cobwebs and dust. It was $ on iTunes when I purchased it, and now I know it was for a reason. Buyer beware!

3. The soundtrack to my middle school days... - I remember it like it was yesterday. My boom box, my beat up Vision board with Slimeballs wheels (anyone remember those?). Slip the cassette tape in, hit the play button, and hit the splintered quarter-pipe ramp in my parents’ driveway. I didn’t have a worry in the world- no job, school was out, and my biggest decision was whether to skate, swim, or skate some more. It was the summer of . Hulk Hogan was the champ. Bones Brigade was getting ready to launch to stardom, and I hadn’t even kissed a girl yet. But who needed chicks when you could skate?! This album became the music for that summer. And I’m sure there are many other year old dudes like myself who had this same soundtrack. Those were the days...

4. ALL TIME BEST POWER/FUSION/SURF/PUNK BAND!! - This band helped me get through some rough times in the early 's.. Basically..I'll be next week. I first heard of Agent Orange in late when "Bloodstains" first hit the airwaves on Rodney On The Roq on KROQ when the station was still in Pasadena, Ca. That song really hit a cord with me (along with some other bands) but Agent Orange stood out. Around , Agent Orange got to play at a kustom kulture gallery showing I was in, in Riverside, California. The proprietor knew the band and they were happy to play in such a small venue, no stage, standing room only. The only original band member left was Mike. Well..I gotta cut this short..get this album, and for $...you'd be a fool to pass this up!! Remember..Everything Turns Grey..

5. Another Great From O.C. - I never really listened to Agent Orange much. But like fellow O.C. rockers Social Distortion and T.S.O.L., they're great. My favorites on the album are "Everything Turns Grey", "No Such Thing", and "The Last Goodbye". It's very appealing to many people because of the mix of pop, punk, and surf rock. Great album.

6. Great album but... - Get the original issue of this album, it has versions of blood stains, and for whatever reason on this version they left out Bored of You, America, and El Dorado, which are of my favorite songs on the album. This is totally essential punk that showcases some of the very best the genre has to offer, a definite must-have for any punk fan.

7. Addicting - Agent Orenge's unique sound captures you. It's a twist between pacific soft rock and punk and is unlike anything else. Almost all of the songs sound great. Their music can be liked by many people with diffrent tastes. The lyrics though is the only flaw. The words are really broken up which can have a positive and negitive effect. Over all, this is a great alblum which many will enjoy.
2008-02-16
8. Best Punk Album Ever - I swear it is. The album is actually very solid which is rare for punk. Too Young to Die, Everything Turns Grey (timeless song), The Last Goodbye, No Such Thing, Bloodstains, and their surf covers, especially their blistering take on pipeline are all punk classics. Compare this to all the punk-gone-hipster-sour of most indie shyt bands of today and this owns all of it. These were just guys making good, honest music that still manages to be epic. This is the good non-whiney style of punk. If you like Black Flag, check this out.

9. THIS IS THE ONE!!! - This is the CD to buy. I love this recording!!! There is something about this recording that sets it apart from all the other Agent Orange recordings, and I can't really figure out why but I know that I love it! "Everything Turns Grey" absolutely rocks and this is by far the best recording of it. The entire collection takes me back to skating downtown, causing trouble. :)

10. Excellent! - Just as I remember. Except that I own the original vinyl "Living In Darkness" which is the reason for only stars. "Bloodstains" is not the same version on the vinyl. Yes, it's the same words, chords, drum beat. But it is not the same recording and it was my favorite song on the album. Easily stars if it were the same. Otherwise, all of their stuff is still timeless. I am reintroducing them to a younger generation and on our way to dawn patrol some LA - Ventura County surf spot, we listen to them to get pumped for surfing, just like it was all over again. Still a great surf punk band.

1. Been there, done that - I was . Lived in DC. Went to a local club called Louie's Rock City. Standing room for maybe people. Joey comes to the mic & destroyed us!!!!
This album, yes every original Ramones record, is a must if you have any heart for rock n roll. I may be in my s now but there are very few bands that have the gift of these guys....

2. GREATEST ALBUM EVER MADE - THis is the best punk album EVER! And its one of the most influential albums in rock. It inspired bands like, The Dead Kennedys, The Misfits, and Pennywise. It even kick started the punk genre. Even metal bands were inspired by them. Metallica even did a tribute album for them! Buy this Whole album. Not just Blitzkrieg Bop. Buy Today your love, and . THe WHole Album! This album left a legacy. So thank you Ramones for years of FUN! Thank you for giving the cretins, the pinheads, and the kids who just dont quite fit in, a thing that they can call there own. It changed so many lives, It changed mine as well. And, when im not having a great day, i just pump up Were a happy family, Glad To Seeya Go, and Judy is a Punk, and sing along to it as loud as i can. Cause it only felt like it was hours a go. Gabba Gabba Hey ( R.I.P Joey, Johnny, and Dee Dee)

3. They DID do a Ballad... - This is a great album, and I would recommend buying as an album, and listening to it in from beginning to end (in sequence) several times within a week - you will then possibly have a deeper appreciation of what the Ramones are truly about. Regarding the last review, the Ramones DID do a ballad (a remake) called, "Baby I Love You".
2013-03-02
4. Beyond Criticism ? - I'm not a big Ramones fan. But I still admire the fact that they NEVER did a ballad. Thank goodness. To say this music is too simple is like saying the Empire State building is too tall. It is what it is. And since they are very honest about what they wanted to do, you can only criticize it so much. In the end, Ramones fans surrender to the whole "attitude over ability" approach. I DO like "Blitzkrieg Bop." And Joey had a unique voice - like an adult dysfunctional child. Charming - in an "End of Western Civilization" sort of way. Some songs are so short (even seconds), that you won't even have a chance to notice they're repetitive. .................",,.... !"
2012-12-12
5. Epic in so many ways - This is essential to any punk rock fan, but the thing is, many people can enjoy this music. It's simple, it rocks, it has hilarious lyrics, and is one of the most important and best albums of all time, just not in punk(even though it started punk). It has influenced so many bands today, and, frankly, ROCKS!
2011-04-04
6. Not just a great album, a masterpiece - The Ramones were one of the best bands in pop music because they didn't go with the flow. They didn't try to be artsy or elaborately produced at a time when that was all the rage among bands. They just went for a shocking amount of simplicity and fun, and didn't take themselves too seriously or care if they seemed silly or sloppy. We can always use bands that have that attitude, but no one did it like the Ramones. R.I.P Joey, Johnny and Dee Dee
2011-01-11
7. Wow - This is literally the most overrated album that has ever been created. Do not but this piece of @$%. People only like it cause they think their supposed to. The album cover was famous and that's another reason people like it. Don't get brainwashed all of their songs are exactly the same with different words. The lyrics are terrible I am just look at the names of these songs: 'I wanna Sniff Some Glue' REALLY!! Hopefully you will listen to reason, Goodbye.
2010-02-15
8. First punk album ever made - This album is excellent. The Ramones were the first punk band, and without them, so many other bands would never have existed, such as EVERY punk band, or even bands that claim to be punk but aren't. Though the image of punk is generally more violent, political, or rebellious than this, this is where punk started. This album is a must-have for any punk fan. The Ramones, while not having very complex music, were still a great band, because what they did was invent a completely new style of music. Fast, simple, and fun rock songs. That is why they are considered such a great band.
2010-01-30
9. Perhaps the first "official" Punk Rock album - While others (such as The New York Dolls, The Stooges and The Velvet Underground) laid the foundation for punk rock, the Ramones are generally thought to be the first completely "punk" band. Unlike the bands that would come after them, the Ramones were not incredibly violent and anarchic (e.g., The Sex Pistols) nor were they especially political (e.g., The Clash), the exception being "Bonzo Goes to Bitburg" on the much later album Animal Boy. However, the Ramones simple and straightfoward style of rock music set the standard for countless punk bands to come. Their style of stripping rock down to its raw core was a decidedly different approach than many of the more stylized music of many rock bands during this period (e.g., Queen, Boston). Nor were they blues-based hard rockers glorifying their excesses (a la AC/DC or Aerosmith). The Ramones were instantly recognizable thanks largely to the unpretentious vocals of Joey Ramone and the "buzz-saw" of Johnny Ramone's guitar. Dee Dee Ramone and Tommy Ramone were a fast-paced, simple, and raw rhythm section that fit the Ramones's stlye perfectly. This album, their debut, was never accorded the commercial success it deserved. Containing probably their second most famous song (after "I Wanna be Sedated") "Blitzkreig Bop" and other classics such as "Judy is a Punk" and "Chain Saw", this album is the Ramones's first step on their way to eventual (though long overdue) recognition as the "fathers of punk". Other songs that stand out are the humorous ode to inhaling substances ("Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue") and the Dee Dee Ramone penned "rd & rd", a song about prostitution that is much more suggestive than usual for the Ramones. Overall, this album is well worth your looking into, and almost necessary to at least have a few songs if you are a punk fan.

10. Is there a track that isnt great? - This is one of those records you can listen all the way through, several times. My favorite Ramones album.
Favorite tracks: Judy is a punk, chain saw, now i wanna sniff some glue, I dont wanna go down to the basement, and havana affair.
DO NOT JUST BUY BLITZKREiG BOP!!! YOU WILL BE MISSING OUT ON GREAT TRACKS!!!

11. Classic punk for a new generation - I had to buy this because my yr old has never heard "Judy Is A Punk," which should be a crime for anyone who considers themselves to be punk! Yes, we've all heard "Blitzkrieg Bop" a million times - maybe billions if you're a Yankees fan - but it still is one of the best Ramones songs ever. It's only a fraction of why this album is a classic.
2009-12-01
12. So Good, Even the Cover Picture is Legendary.... - If you consider Fall Out Boy and Panic At the Disco! and My Chemical Romance to be "punk" bands, then maybe you shouldn't call yourself a "punk". This is real punk, raw, pure, and really freaking good...My favorite songs on this album are "I Don't Wanna Go Down to the Basement", "Loudmouth", "rd and rd", and "Today Your Love, Tomorrow the World". And if you're stupid and think that "Today Your Love" glorifies fascism and Hitler, then please...please...please...stop taking the Ramones so seriously. That song is hilarious if you think about it. A Nazi in love? Seriously? It's just funny.
2009-10-30
13. Now THIS is punk! - While today, punk is a sound that has been expanded upon by many great bands like NOFX and Anti-Flag, this is where it all started. Sure, the Sex Pistols managed to create a similar sound, this is really where it's all at. This is the most very basic formula of punk rock, and boy does it deliver. The Ramones' first four albums are, in my opinion, the best punk rock ever created. They are a very realistic band who don't try to force themselves to be something they aren't; instead, they simply use the tools they have at hand and craft music that is universally enjoyable and rocks hard. Definitely don't download just Blitzkreig Bop; GO OUT AND BUY THE WHOLE THING. It's a lot better when you actually own the CD itself.

1. STRANGER THINGS YEEEESS - I not only like this song because it’s from stranger things my favorite show and I was so excited when season came but now season is coming and I’m so excited! Go watch those seasons and this song is one of my favorite especially in season . But out of all seasons and including season season was a bomb and took me away. Amazing job acting the demagorgon. They actually made a suit so a human could be in it. Anyways the clash is an amazing band and this is one of there best songs. RIP we will all miss you though bud.....

2. The Clash! - What can be said to describe this ground breaking album and the stunningly musical talent that makes up The Clash? Every song not only has you dancing in your seat,if you are sitting, but the music itself is an delicious assault on the consciousness and will have you playing these track over and over, completely abandoning the prior songs that you've downloaded from other bands.I have been listening to these musical genious' for years.I was when I was first introduced to this kind of music and never have tired of the Clashs timelessness THANKS for the Clash!

3. The Clash is the best band in existence. - I love the Clash. Every time I hear anything from this album, I get a feeling that cannot be explained in words. Oh the feels. This band is right up at the top with the Beatles and the Stones and the Talking Heads and Queen and everyone else. I've been listening to them since I was two. Granted I'm fourteen, but I have such a profound respect for Joe Strummer and The Clash.

1. Amazing!!! - With all the stupid fake pop music being made these days, it's so great that I can come home and listen to the ramones! They are just amazing and there isn't one song on this album that I don't love! Some of my favorites include I don't care, Sheena is a punk rocker, locket love, and do you wanna dance but you really need to buy the whole album!
2010-06-01
2. ramonehead is dumb - the clash and sex pistols are so much more punk than the ramones ever were and ever will be. the ramones are quoted saying they're the beach boys with guitars. are the beach boys punk i dont think so. there is no punk without the sex pistols. american punk bands were trying to pull themselves away from the ramones sound.and most of the punk bands did drugs and drank.open ur eyes.just because the ramones cant play their instruments doesnt them punk. dont get me wrong i like the ramones but they had nowhere near the impact the sex pistols had on punk and popular music.

3. Review Number Two - So yeah, I wrote an annoying rant about two years ago proclaiming how good this album was and then going on a tangent about green day at the time....heres how I feel now. This album is still really damn good. THe Ramones were at their peak on this album and had crystallized their formula with so many classic songs. Some of my favorites still: Cretin Hop, Rockaway Beach, Sheena Is a Punk Rocker, We're a Happy Family, Teenage Lobotomy. The best part is.....the rest of the album is just as good. If you like punk rock or just having fun with rock music then you should check this band out and buy this album. Maybe its not your style but no one can ignore this album as extremely influential and loved by millions. As for my douchebag rant on green day, I was just pissed off when I wrote my review. I love green day and consider Dookie and American Idiot to be great albums. I just think its important to see where these styles of music have come from and to pay respect to the inventors of the genre.

4. Now this is REAL Punk Rock! - I get tired of people these days who think bands like blink- and fall out boy are "Punk"! No way! They are pop! They are little better than boy bands! The Ramones were Real Punk! This is a great punk album. "Cretin Hop" and "Teenage Lobotomy" go great together. They are two of my favorite Ramones songs.
2009-06-03
5. Great album - I had money for two ramones and chuck berry, and was trying to decide between This, Ramones and Road to Ruin. I ultimately chose this and Ramones just by shutting my eyes and pointing at one. Great decision, Cretin Hop grabs you at the very beginning, it's one of the great openers up there with Rocks Off and Welcome to the Jungle. There isn't a bad song on here, I just marked it down because of the decision.
2009-04-24
6. Possibly the greatest punk rock album of the s - This is the greatest album the Ramones have ever released. If you do not own this album, you cannot call yourself a fan of punk rock. I am years old, and I love the Ramones. I also like other punk bands such as the Sex Pistols, The Clash, and Green Day. Anyway, this album is truly the greatest Ramones album. DO NOT just buy Sheena Is a Punk Rocker, buy the ENTIRE album.
2009-02-05
7. Great Punk Album - This album is a great album. the ramones were a good punk band, but ramonehead, you're dead wrong about the pistols. they were a real band that sang about real things that effected them. the ramones did do. thats what punk is about. the things that effect you, your opinions (therefore i respect urs) and what u want to do to change the things u disagree with. i kno it sounds cheesy but thats how i feel.
2008-10-27
8. Simply put...the greatest punk rock album ever. - The Ramones may not have been the greatest musicians ever. But what they did know is how to create a near perfect blend of punk rock, and mix it with surf rock influences to create quite possibly the greatest punk rock album of all time. While current "punk" bands such as Green Day, Blink , and Sum- rely only on catchy, MTV-friendly songs to get airplay, the Ramones used catchy songs stripped down to three chords and didn't care what anyone thought about them. It is truly a shame that as soon as this album was released, the Sex Pistols stole all the thunder that would have been theirs. But to the fans of the Ramones, everyone knows that it was truly the Ramones that started punk rock, and saved rock and roll from becoming something it was not. Rock was no longer rebelious, it was something you could take home to your mom. The Ramones changed that and made it so rock frightened your parents once again. Anyway, get this album to learn what punk rock was, and should be. There will never be another Ramones in music (although this generation needs one BAD), and it is truly a shame that three of them are dead.
2008-07-01
9. ??????? - ok the ramones are the bomb but the person who said the sex pistols screwed punk ur pretty much right i love the sex pistols but they were big drugys and everyone thought all punk bands were as bad as the sex pistols, dead kennedys, or circle jerks. any way awesome album get this and road to ruin
2008-05-25
10. One of the greatest by one of the greatest - The Ramones are hands down, the best punk band ever. This is definitely one of the greatest albums they have made. Just give "Cretin Hop", "Rockaway Beach", "Teenage Labotomy", "Do You Wanna Dance" or "Sheena Is A Punk Rocker" a listen and you'll know why.
2008-04-08
11. Rocket to Russia Others - Rocket to Russia (Expanded and Remastered) is probably just as good as the original Rocket to Russia album. I won't say that it's better, because, though the bonus tracks they've added on are enjoyable, there aren't very many and they don't measure up to the original album. The five bonus tracks added on are either early demo versions, single versions, or previously unavailable B-Sides. And then there's "Slug" which actually isn't all that great. The expanded and remastered version, though it would be foolish to buy the entire album for one song, is worth it just to hear The Ramones's five-star cover of The Searcher's "Needles and Pins" I think that it should have been added on to Rocket to Russia originally. There is also a single version of "Sheena Is a Punk Rocker" and it sounds absolutely identical. You should either buy one or the other. So, it's probably just as good and it's a good alternative to the original Rocket to Russia album. Recommended Tracks: "Rockaway Beach" "Sheena Is a Punk Rocker" "Teenage Lobotomy" "Needles and Pins (Early Version)"

12. nd best - This is great though I think their debut was better. While looking at some reviews I noticed that someone named AC/DC fan complained about how the RAMONES songs all sound the same. Ha. Anyways the best songs are Rockaway Beach, Sheena is a Punk Rocker, We're a Happy Family, Teenage Lobotomy and Surfin Bird. Speaking of their first album where the kcuf is it?
2007-08-01
13. Clazzic album period... no wait that was - If you wanted to define the punk genre with an album, this would definately be my choice. Every song is catchy and hey, thurrs extra songs. Defiantely essential listening to any one who considers themselves a fan of classic rock... or at least classic punk. O, and i was readin Ramonehead's comment and despite some of the neg. feedback, im gonna have to agree with that except, you have to realize that although the sex pistols might have conquered at the time, now most people have heard of the ramones and they're like... the WHAT pistols????

1. A masterpiece of American hard rock n roll - This record is pure brilliance captured. Hard rock , punk , experimental free flow jazz. This baby has it all. Iggy pop and the stooges didn’t need to put out a single record after this and they still would’ve been celebrated and their legacy cemented into the hollow halls of rock n roll. This record is rock n roll church simple as that. And this is the funhouse that you need to buy. This remastered version.

2. My favorite album from my favorite band - I can tell you with certainty this is my favorite album of all time, from any artist of any genre. Rock music doesn't get any better than this. Most Stooges fans seem to favor Raw Power over this album, but not me. Don't get me wrong, Raw Power has some stand out songs, but over all I don't find it to be as consistently hard-hitting as Funhouse. The songs "Loose" and "Down on the Street" are the Stooges at their best. R.I.P. Dave Alexander, Ron Asheton & Scott Asheton.
2014-03-18
3. A grimy, nasty masterpiece - There's just something raw and dirty about this album. Between the snarling guitar, the punishing saxophone, and above it all Iggy Pop's unmatched primal screams, this album is not for the faint of heart. This album is like crowding into the bathroom stall of a sleazy bar to snort some blow. This album is like rough, unprotected sex with a stranger in a dark, dirty alley at four in the morning. This album punches you in the mouth and when you fall down it kicks you in the ribs. This album is a slow descent through the levels of hell, and when you finally meet the Devil you find out he's learning to play the sax and yep, he's gonna make you listen. But this could very well be the greatest rock and roll album of all time.
2013-10-19
4. Goodness! - I'm shocked how incredible this is. sixtyseventysumthing? The only modern equivalent to this sort of power that I can think of is Jane's Nothing Shocking or Nirvana's Nevermind and I'm not even sure that either of those really measure up to this. This is a carpetbombing soundtrack. I used to think that the Stones and Zepplin were the edge of this period, but g-dam if they ever came close to this. Fun House alone puts all of your sixties collection to the torch. Closest description I can think of is James Brown Rolling Stones Velvet Underground. Yeah, cheezy, but seriously listen for yourself.
2012-11-04
5. Why don't you own this already - Quite simply this is a must have album by anybody that takes their music seriously. In reality you only need the song original pressing but it doesn't appear as if that is an option here. Pretty much any rock/punk/alternative group worth its salt can trace its roots to the Stooges and this is their masterpiece. Don't just believe all the hype from critics, take it from me, this is one of the best albums of all time. Thank me later.
2010-08-21
6. PURE DETROIT MADNESS - By far Iggy and The Stooges' crowning achievement, this album is the musical equivalent of an atomic bomb. "Loose", in particular, shines with a gleeful madness and slyness aside from being a raucous grenade of a song. Another personal fave is "". It just seems to be Ronnie Asheton's greatest work. Then mid-song, we are introduced to the furious monster sax of one Steve Mackay, who blows a wild Pharoah Sanders free jazz solo that goes well with the band's style. "Dirt" is especially good, as it begins a with a killer rhythm and leads to one of the most sinister vocals if Iggy's career. ALL OTHER TUNES NOT MENTIONED HERE ARE CLASSICS AS WELL!!
2010-06-03
7. Funhouse: A - The Stooges are one of those little known classic rock bands thst were highly influential but lowly in commercial success. And just like similar bands like the Velvet Underground, every one of their albums was great; even though they made few with the original lineup. Funhouse is their sophomore effort and possibly their best.
Down on the Street might be one of the most attetion grabbing album openers of all time, Iggy Pop's vocals are sublimely rough and tattered and the instrumentals are incredibly powerful. This immense sound is a result of the manner in which the band recorded the album, live in a studio. This helped to capture the real essence of the Stooges sound because they sounded best during live performances. They continue their rawness throughout the track record, some highlights include TV Eye, and .
Funhouse is an essential album for protopunk and classic rock enthusiasts.

8. Classic - WOW this is a good album. I wish I could use more profanity because that's the only way to properly describe it. This is one of THE albums of all time, it's not punk because it's way better than punk, but it was definitely influential on punk. Sounds sort of like acid rock and noise rock with some jazz leanings, and it still sounds innovative today.

9. Myth-shattering re-issue - For me the definitive version of Fun House will always be the basic tracks in their original LP sequence. No other album can ever top that for sheer intensity. However, this re-issue shatters a few myths. Listen to the althernate takes, and you will hear tremendous reproducibility in the songs. For a bunch of supposedly drug-addled misfits, The Stooges were actually a remarkably tight studio band. Very little on this album sounds random. These guys knew exactly what they were doing. Even the mind-blowing LA Blues follows its own internal logic. There is Fun House, and then there is every other album ever made.

10. A classic.... - Wow. this album is amazing!!!!!! Iggy is my idol. even though he doesn't play drums. When i heard Ron Ashteon died a couple of months ago, I was shocked. wow. you dont know how sad i was even though i didn't know the guy. what a great guitar player. :( The Stooges will live on forever (even though they are very underrated)!!!!

11. I FEEL ALRIGHT!!! - (Note: I am reviewing the original album, tracks -, not this deluxe edition, tracks -.) "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" "Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" "Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!" "I FEEL ALRIGHT!!!" These are just a few of the endless punk screams that are belted out from The Stooges' lead singer, Iggy Pop, on their (and their second) album, Fun House. In retrospect, it's kind of hard to believe that punk this raw, this powerful, this intense came into the world so early. (Let's face it. It doesn't seem possible for The Stooges to originate in the year , now does it?) This album has been called one of the greatest punk albums of all time, and it's a well-deserved accomplishment. Fun House is all loose, stripped, bare, basic punk rock. The whole thing, from start to finish just screams rock and roll to te highest degree. It even has two tracks that are over seven minutes! This is a little surprising. Most punk bands don't have the guts to carry on for that long, but, then, The Stooges were no ordinary punk band. Plus, I guess they had to make some songs that were kind of lengthy, because the original album only had seven songs. That's one of the few problems with this album. It only adds up to about minutes, so it's a little thin. Granted a lot of the songs sound the same, and Iggy Pop's screams and continuous groans get to be a little overwhelming after a while, but without those factors, it just wouldn't be punk. Recommended Tracks: "T.V. Eye" "" "Fun House"

12. The house of rock! - Do you like your rock to be heavy, slow, fierce, sexual and a nuclear bomb all at the same time? Do you need to be saved? Do you like your music to sound like it's under the spell of the Devil? This is the album for you! Congratulations! Don't be scared by some sleazes throwing around the label 'punk-rock' in magazines and on the internet. The Stooges might have influenced it, but this is rock 'n roll at its most bare, exposed and brutal. This is rock 'n roll mixed with a big swing of jazz. The musicianship on this album is mind blowing. The lyrics are beautiful. The artwork is beyond great. Even today people are trying to top this album. They haven't succeeded yet, and they probably never will. I listen to a big variety of music, but I have never heard something so... insane. ("I've been HURT... and I don't care," being sung and released just a month or two after "Let it Be"?) It's a full package that is forever timeless just waiting for you to light the fuse by pressing play!

13. Doesn't get any better than this - I cannot understand why this album did not do well in its first release. What mindset DID audiences have back then? Geez. I stumbled onto The Stooges by accident---and what a pleasant accident it is. I don't even know where to start first. When I listened to this album, my soul felt violated all over--in a good way. This album is raw and does not apologize for its lyrics, vocals, or instruments. It touches upon the feelings you have when someone looks at you and you like them---but you both go after each other like hungry. lusting savages (Loose, T.V. Eye). The song "Dirt" is just a character study in how society and those you love can make a person feel. Do yourself a favor and buy this. Please.

1. My. Childhood. - I was raised on this band, dear god. I remember my dad telling me the story of the whole Carbona/glue things, why the other was written. I remember making the Ramones out of SOCKS with my mom, and watching Rock and Roll High School with her. I hear it's raining cats and dogs in Idaho. The album is great, the band is great, and I recommend everything by them. Long live rock and roll!

2. My First Ramones Album - Road To Ruin was the first Ramones album I bought, because I loved the album cover so much! This is by far one of their best, and Marky's first album with the band. Some highlights are "I Just Want To Have Something To Do", "Don't Come Close", "I Wanna Be Sedated", "Needles & Pins", "Questingly", "It's A Long Way Back", or just do yourself a favor a buy the entire album. You won't regret it!

3. One of the Ramones best - This album is awesome! The Ramones were one of the best bands ever, and this album proves it. it is sad that this amazing album has less than reviews, while alot of bad music (Soulja Boy, Jonas Brothers, ect.) have thousands of reviews. The Ramones influenced many other bands, including today's greatest band, Green Day. This album isn't quite as good as Rocket to Russia, but it is still amazing. DO NOT just buy I Wanna Be Sedated, while that is the best track, the ENTIRE album is worth the money

4. Ramones - The Ramones are on the top of my list for one of the best bands of all time. This album has some great songs on it, but is missing a few of my favorites so I only rated it stars. All of the songs on this album get a or star rating though. Anyone who thinks all the songs sound the same is deaf, and probobly dosnt listen to punk anyway. If you like this I also reccomend: The Clash, and The Sex Pistols (Both are in the top bands of time)

5. I would give it more stars but yea... - This album is soooooooooo gooooooooood! I bought this album on vinyl just for "I Wanna Be Sedated", which is my theme song, and I disovered that this is a really great album! You should buy it!!! You will not regret it. And the ghost of Joey Ramone will put in a good word for you in heaven!

1. Worst of all MFAGG albums… BY FAR!!! - I have ever MFAGG album and ” since they started playing covers. Love em! But this is trash. Spike is way out of control on this one, and the band is taking way too much of a backseat on these songs. They proved they can cover this type of music on Take a Break, but they really botched these covers this time. It just doesn’t work...
2014-08-06
2. This is a fine album. - Song selection is fine and the covers are fine. The entire album is fine. Seemed to me like FatWreck and Fat Mike might have been something new to put out. Of all their releases this isn’t in the top three… it is still enjoyable and if you are looking for covers, look no further.

1. Love the anger... - ...I just can't believe MacKaye managed to get THAT apoplectic over cigarette smoking...lol. Once punk rock became synonymous with drugs and nihilism and green mohawks, Straight Edge was a logical step - the most "punk" thing you could do was rebel against the rebels, who'd turned into just another homogenized clutch of conformists. (You just change for the same!) Kind of brilliant really, and the bombast and rage of MT tracks is as hardcore as anything in punk. Still, I can't help but laugh a little when I reflect that it's basically in service of, like, Mormonism. Thematically I prefer Black Flag's sociopathy and depression to Minor Threat's insightful preachiness…but MacKaye still makes you respect it. Classic, seminal, essential punk rock record, like you need me to tell you.
2014-11-15
2. the primal, less articulate brother of fugazi - There are good moments in Minor Threat's catalog. In My Eyes, sometimes good guys don't wear white, and seeing red are nice little bit's of hardcore bile. However, the lack of variety in the songs becomes daunting and grating at times. This band has a lot to say, but they speed through the lyrics so fast it's hard to really get it, and their lyrics are known for being quite good so it's a bit of a waste. Personally if you are going to go for Ian Macaye's work, go with Fugazi. That band has much more well articulated musical compositions. This is aggression for aggression's sake.

1. Pure Punk - This tour was the only time I saw Patti Smith. I remember the lights went out and the opening chords to Gloria came on. She appeared draped with an American flag and when the band kicked into full gear the place went nuts. Very incendiary performance and, by far, the most punk show I’ve ever been to. The record? Just as great. Still own it on vinyl and I just bought it on iTunes so my kid can listen to it on his way to school.

1. The Perfect Rock Album - This is a perfect mix of psychedelic rock and hard rock (mainly psychedelic, yet this was made two years after the psychedelic period). There are lots of great songs on here. My all-time favorites are "", a nice blues-style psychedelic-toned song about being , the heavy, very-psychedelic "I Wanna Be Your Dog" with Christmas bells, the heavy "No Fun", the also-heavy "Real Cool Time" with that great wah-wah guitar, and "Ann", a love song with Jimi Hendrix-style guitar and very nice drum work. Please take a look at this milestone of rock. If you don't like it, well I feel really sorry for you

2. The Stooges make their first venture. - The Stooges self-titled debut is not quite on the same level as their other two albums. It consists of a Stooges that hadn't yet fully realized their sound, and still sound like an amateur post-pychecelic garage band. As a result, it's not as consistently as impressive as Fun House or Raw Power. It does feature such stand out tracks as No Fun, , Little Doll We Will Fall (a weird drone rock number that sounds like it could fit in on an early Boris album) and the legendary I Wanna Be Your Dog. It's really amazing how far they would improve between this album and Fun House.

1. Snotty indeed. - Wow. This album is young, this album is loud, and this album is most definitely snotty. I cannot tell you the number of times I've been disappointed by a lack of snot in an otherwise promising record. Well, thank heavens for Dead Boys, because they have infused this collection of songs with an overflowing magma of snot.
2017-01-17
2. THIS IS PUNK!!! - The greatest punk band ever!!! My dad used to know cheetah (the guitarist) and cheetah used to crash at my dad's old house when he was going through some serious drug problems. And don't get me wrong i'm into my chemical romance (they're good modern punk) but whovever said that theey're better than the dead boys can burn in hell because the dead boys made my chemical romance and mcr is barely even punk anymore they've gotten really emo which is so gay.
2009-11-29
3. Fun. - First of all, before we all forget why we write these reviews, let me state that Young, Loud and Snotty is a astoundingly great and fun document of punk rock and roll's golden era. If you, the iTunes customer, are feverishly searching for bands and recordings that define, and will always define, what is referred to as punk music, the Dead Boys and their two LPs, including this, their first, are essential purchases for your collection. The Dead Boys, like their contemporaries Devo and The Damned, never really took themselves too seriously. Rock and roll is all about fun and the Dead Boys were the life of the party! Sonic Reducer is, and will remain, one of the greatest rock and roll songs ever recorded. That alone is reason enough to purchase this LP. Do so, or live in obscurity, lose all your friends, and die alone. If I may address a few things: The My Chemical Toilet comment was obviously meant as a joke. By taking it seriously, you have legitimized the intentions of the post. It’s pretty funny actually! Of course MCR is nothing but a sad pop facsimile of the bands that really shook the Earth. Those bands, like the Dead Boys, that defined rebellion and originality. MCR doesn’t fit that bill, they don’t even come close. Rocket From the Tombs was mentioned, and for good reason. RFTT was the mother ship for both Dead Boys/Frankenstein and the incredible Pere Ubu. Let’s not forget to give some credit to Peter Laughner, the man who wrote Ain’t it Fun among other classic RFTT/Dead Boys/Pere Ubu songs. And no, David Thomas, AKA Crocus Behemoth, never sang for the Dead Boys. Please purchase Rocket from the Tombs- The Day the Earth Met the… LP. You won’t regret it! Kids, don’t be so quick to label everything. Punk is a label. It was used to sell records and put a name on a sound and attitude that was difficult to define. It’s all about rebellion, being true to yourself, thinking outside of the box, doing it yourself. Call it whatever you want, punk, etc. Just don’t forget the true meaning behind it! The Mohawk haircuts and chains are just fashion. Don’t take things so seriously. Support those bands in your city that are making truly great music and ignore the corporate music machine that controls the television and radio. Light the planet on fire!

4. The Stooges' direct descendents! - I love this band! One of my favorites of the ' school of punk! Heavy Stooges influence--pure rock n roll. This is their best record--the oft covered Sonic Reducer (The Dictators, Overkill, Pearl Jam and others have all recorded versions) may be the best American punk song, All This and More is excellent, High Tension Wire is another one of their best. Includes a left-field cover of Little Girl by s Cali folk rock band Syndicate of Sound. This destroys anything in contemporary punk.

5. I GOT MY DULL MACHINE! GOT MY 'LECTRONIC DREAM! - This album is absolutely amazing. This band is the direct link between Iggy & The Stooges and the SeX PisTOLs. To the mychemrom kid...no, I'm not gonna insult you or call ya names... My Chemical Romance listened to punk rock...they did a cover of The Misfits' "Astro Zombies"(which sucked...but whatever). The point is, this album should be appreciated for what it is, one of the st punk rock albums. This band was up on the front line of the movement along with Ramones, Richard Hell, Johnny Thunders, and Blondie(yes...they were considered punk). I own this on clear red vinyl...pretty kewl...I don't have the bonus track...didn't come on the vinyl...but oh well... Still gewd! Also, my cover is diff'r'nt...I got yellow wall w/ green letters, this one has green wall w/ yellow letters? Weird... But I digress! This is a great album, get it!!!

6. Classic but know your history - This is one of the seminal punk albums. Reminds you that we had it before England knew what hit 'em. That said, the description of this album mentions Pere Ubu like they were competitors of the Dead Boys. Crocus of Pere Ubu was in the original Dead Boys. He sang most of these songs before Stiv joined the band. Check out "The Day the Earth Met the Rocket From the Tombs" - a CD of the demo tape of these songs in their original forms. I loved this album, I lived this album, I was there when the Dead Boys played Bookies. I like the lo-fi Rocket from the Tombs recording the best. Ain't it Fun?

7. My Chemical Romance Would Not exist without this! - I was born in so I am too young to know the beginnings of punk. From Richard Hell's Blank Generation to Sonic Reducer from The Dead Boys when I was a teen this music spoke to me. This album in particular. You can hear the Anger in Stiv Bators voice on all the tracks. Caught With The Meat In Your Mouth is a great song. I grew up in CBGB's for the later hardcore punk bands but wish I were there to hear The Dead Boys power that they had on stage. As for My Chemical Romance you need to appreciate this kind of album before you make an assumption. I am sure that the guys in My Chemical Romance have listened to albums like this that inspired them to go out and start a band. This is the roots of the music you so endure.

8. Don't Need No Human Race - The Dead Boys define punk. They bring so much energy and tell the world to fk off. I don't know what punk would be like without these guys. Just listen to sonic reducer and you'll see what I mean. The st words say, "I don't need anyone, don't need no mom and dad, don't need no pretty face, don't need no human race." Hell yeah dude. buy this. now.

1. I must be one sad dude! - I saw one reviewer write that this album is "too personal." Isn't music suppossed to be a personal expression? I must be one sad dude, because I can relate to a lot of these lyrics (getting divorced, dealing with the passing of a close friend) and I'm only . I'm glad he wrote about the topics he did. I think it takes guts. I love fast, hard hitting punk as much as anyone else but it would be kind of weird if Fat Mike was writing about the same things he was writing about in . That's just my opinion. No, this isn't NOFX at their ultimate best but, in a sort of strange way, it's still a fascinating and occassionally even beautiful album.
2020-11-10
2. OK - Great NOFX albums: White trash, punk in drublic, SO LONG AND THANKS FOR ALL THE SHOES (best album ever made), Pump up the valuum, war on errorism, wolves in wolves, coaster. Ribbed and so long we're giant leaps in their song writing and tightly tuned music. There were some great songs on self entitled and a few on this one but this isn't one of their best
2017-07-18
3. Masterful musicianship - This entire album is the result of decades of experience. It's clear the Fat Mike and the gang reached a new level of music creation. The structures, lyrics, and sound are typical of what you'd expect from This band, but it's at max level in terms of skill. The overall sound and mixing on this album is just beautiful. It's so heavy and full, and don't get me started on the lyrics & meloldies. NOFX should be proud.
2017-03-28
4. Punk for the ages - I've followed NOFX since I was a teenager in the s. If you got them back then you will love this album. If you're a year old just discovering punk in drublic then wait till you hit or so and if you're still into punk download it. I am a year old punk rocker and it's a punk message NOFX gave me when I was a year old drunk at parties listening to them. Love you guys and RIP Tony Sly.
2016-12-22
5. Yeah NOFX is back! - I've seen NOFX live tons of times and my favorite thing about them is they're not afraid to admit that they're mediocre. This is sloppy, short, unrehearsed punk rock at its' best - what punk rock is and should be to begin with. And Fat Mike touches on all of his favorite subjects - drugs (Oxy Moronic), cross dressing (I'm A Transvest-Lite), himself (I Don't Like Me Anymore), conspiracy theories (Sid & Nancy), politics (Generation Z), and parents (Dead Beat Mom). So if you're a NOFX fan you should have this already and should know what to expect. But if not it's NOFX and if you're uninitiated this is all you need to know.
2016-11-10
6. Back to form - I don’t write many reviews, but had to for this record. This is Nofx at their finest. Quality songs after all these years. Still kicking out solid melodies and catchy hooks. Sounds like a follow up album to “So Long..” which is my favorite of theirs. This takes me back to growing up. Great work guys
2016-10-27
7. This one gets personal. - I gave the CD to my friend as we went off to the bar. "Sounds like they're getting old," was his response. First Ditch Effort is a personal album for FAT MIKE. He's a father, his friends are dying, his parents are dead, and he's divorced. All he knows is that he's got a huge love for his music, his daughter, and a little love for chemicals. Throw it together, and NOFX creates a messy, melodramatic, fist pumping transgender punk album, and it's hella rad, but sad as always.
2016-10-15
8. If you love the Decline, war on errorism and so long.... you will absolutely love this album. - Another great NOFX album. Has the the sound and feel of "the Decline", " the war on errorism", and "so long and thanks for all the shoes". Extremely thoughtful lyrics! The song "I'm so sorry tony" is the perfect tribute to Tony Sly. It left me wanting to hug my kids and wife. The song Generation Z has the lyrics, message and structure of "the Decline". Buy this album! You won't regret it!
2016-10-07
9. Good but slow - is just an awkward year of punk releases. A lot of my favorite bands including NOFX released albums and they're all so mediocre. It could be my high hopes but everything is missing the mark this year. Either mixing is off, or slow songs, or bland albums. I'm not sure what happened but it's been pretty bleak. Took a couple listens via YouTube. It's a NOFX album, good catchy songs but slow and bland (to many intro's). I do like the lyrics from what I've heard but not enough to carry the album. Can't really hate a NOFX album but personally just to slow.

1. Dream Show - I was not at Shea, but I saw this show (Clash/Who ') at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia. I had seen The Clash earlier at the much smaller Orpheum in Boston and WOW. So when this show was announced ... two of my very favorite bands coming together ... it was the like ultimate. Awesome, awesome, awesome. So happy now to have the show documented in a recording! The Clash are simply the best. I started listening to Green Day because they remind me of The Clash. As an aside, I think I scared the kid working at Hot Topic last year...digging in the clearance, I found a tee shirt "The Clash American Carnage Tour '." I ran to the register... "I HAVE TO HAVE THIS...I SAW THIS SHOW!!!" LOL.
2011-08-17
2. That's what I Missed! - I also was on the field for this night with the Who. I didn't arrived until the middle of the show and knew I missed something great. All these years later I was always disappointed I arrived so late. Thanks for showing me what I missed. I also remember they were not well received at the end of their set, I couldn't understand why, I thought they were great.
2010-04-09
3. Live Indeed - As this concert was played a few years before I was even born, I'll never get the chance to see the Clash live. So all I have is this live album, and it's one of the Clash albums I have on constant replay. A good band shouldn't just sound good on a recording album, but just as amazing (or even better) live. The Clash are quite wonderous in these live recordings. Every song is so great, almost good enough to beat out the studio tracks. The only low point for me is "Rock the Casbah" which I guess is one of those songs that doesn't really translate well into a live performance. Considering Topper wrote most of the msuic for this song, and he wasn't there to play might have had something to do with it. But still, it's not a total lost cause. Some of my favorite high points are the "Maginificent " to "Armagideon Time" and back medley, "Guns of Brixton," and "Police on my Back." Obviously I'm too young to understand what it was like to see them live, but this album is fantastic, and not worth buying in single tracks. Just buy the whole damn thing.
2009-07-14
4. Clash Rocks! - This is some of the best Clash music they made. On top of that the live sound of Mick Jones' raw guitar really sounds cool. I can listen to these songs over and over again and they still sound great. If your in the mood to buy just one song, I would recommend buying Spanish Bombs, Magnificent or Rock the Casbah.
2009-04-28
5. This sounds incredible!!!! - I saw the Clash on this Who Tour in ' at the Oakland Coliseum. We had T-Bone Burnett opening the show and I thought he sucked, but the Clash were very well received and I thought they were awesome. This recording shows just how good they were on that tour. Stories of them being booed off the stage in NY are very depressing. Come on NY?!?!?!?! Then again, I was at REM in ' when Sonic Youth got booed offstage and I'm ashamed to have been there for that.
2008-11-06
6. Awesome. - Man, what a great album. I would have loved to have seen the Clash, but this album seems to have all the energy and grit that my "imaginary" and "dream" Clash shows have had. The sound is quite good... I'm amazed at what they can do these days with older recordings to clean them up. A great album.
2008-10-20
7. Raw Power - I was at this show and I have to admit that there was a greater sense of urgency, a feeling that we were seeing perhaps the most important band of the moment when the Clash took the stage. In some ways I think they topped The Who, and I felt a greater sense of electricity in the air when the lights went out and the Clash took the stage. We knew more or less what to expect from The Who, but the Clash was a different, less predicable beast altogether.
2008-10-19
8. As Historic as the Beatles at Shea ? - I, along with several thousand others, attended this show. I recently found my ticket stub. I remember the rain, the traffic backed up forever to get to the stadium, accidents on the expressway, the booing. As a Clash fan, this show really made me begin to hate the Who, not because of the Who, but the Who fans, who I considered to be closed minded and fat. Listen to this performance by the Clash, they left it all on the stage. We need them now more than ever, but they are gone. Thank goodness the music is left behind. Thank you Clash. stars for you...
2008-10-15
9. Great Live Album Of The Clash Towards The End... - Imagine being Joe Strummer at this point, finally having huge success after years of brutal nonstop work as the band of his dreams falls apart before his eyes. His playing and singing are SUPERB throughout this set, probaby the best of his live work in the Clash. Simenon's playing is as sharp as it ever was. Mick's creativity flows but he does not quite hold up his end, having lost the faith around this time (although / of Mick is still obviously pretty kickass). And Terry Chimes, who has (post Strummer) turned into THE most eloquent spokesmen for this band (fully giving the genius playing of Topper all the props he deserves) does his best but, unfortunately, is propped up by the muscular playing of the other three. Even though this isn't the Clash at their peak (' Lyceum live shows/'-' London Calling shows/Bonds '-remix and release THESE PLEASE!!), this is a surprisingly energetic and punchy album considering the circumstance and I'm glad to have it in my hands. Whoever mixed it should be given a medal. The mix brings out the best and most ferocious aspects of this, one of the greatest rock bands of all time!
2008-10-12
10. Clash at Shea - I was at these Shea shows and The Clash was booed offstage, as was David Johanssen, by us rabid WHO fans. This also happened a few weeks earlier in Philly, I recall their sets only being about minutes; Strummer angrily throwing the axe at the end of the set. The same thing happened a few weeks earlier in Philly where Santana was also plagued by awful equipment problems. Nonetheless, The Clash is one of those bands that only ever got modest commercial success compared to the talent they had. Musically ahead of their time, but unappreciated by the pop fans of the 's.
2008-10-11
11. Right 'Em Boyo!!! The Clash show how's it done Onstage S'More - Love it.... Not the first Clash live album, but this joins "From Here To Eternity" in chronicling one of the absolute greatest bands of all time....They just nailed it all - the punk DIY , the eclectic maturation thru the years ... the celebration of GUITARS and groove..the smart politics, the SOUND, the QUESTIONS they asked of ALL SIDES.... The performance is just amazing - GET IT! Punchy, raucous and raw but also well rehearsed...they do the classic early stuff all the way to the giant hits they had while this tour was on..Crank this up and Grab A Guitar!! Spanish Bombs...Tommy Gunn...English Civil War...wow!! This was such an eclectic period in music --I still live here in my head and my own music. And don't forget to check out what the guys went on to do after this -- some stunning work, especially by Strummer. And Simonon and Jones are at it today () with Silicon/Carbon and The Good The Bad & The Queen. So this is great to hear -- a great quality recording of this legendary show. Let's hope more live Clash is released - say from the first tour as well. I also have to say -- KUDOS to Sony - a really great 'booklet' -- with great rare pics, liner notes, a visual discography and yes, while they are 'commercial' in nature --links to buy Clash albums. But what's really cool is a link to the CLASH youtube channel-- that's a sign that the record companies are STARTING to get that they can't control EVERY representation of a band -- much less the open posting of videos of ALL quality levels. I hope other artists start adding great 'digital booklets'. The bottom line -- despite the crying of LUDDITES -- is that digital music is here to stay -- and we DON'T need more plastic, paper, and the burnt oil to ship physical music all around the planet when you can get great music at the click of the mouse. I think this release sounds great , I think maybe $. should be $. soon, and they will sell EVEN MORE. More Clash!!! More new wave/punk British Music!! XTC, Police, Specials, Joe Jackson, GP, THE CURE!!

12. a moment captured - the clash are the only band that matters. with that out of the way, it is refreshing to hear this live performance. here you listen to a band in transition as the departure of topper was the beginning of the end for the clash. what is great about this performance is that it is from one show, the other live release "from here to eternity" was a hodge podge of solid live performances sewn together, not really a live set but more of a best of live. the live at shea is a concert to be remembered and a time capsule too as shea stadium will be no more. i know there are bootlegs floating out there that have better sets, but the quality is always dubious at best. this was one of the floated boots and it is great to see it released officially. for all those new to the clash, this is a good set but definitely not the clash at their best. this release deserves a place in your collection as it serves as a reminder of how great artists transcend time and remain relevant. bless you joe strummer! may you be bringing the house down wherever you are!

13. "Stuck on the Whitestone" should be a clash song title - I was very excited to buy this album and the sound quality is great. I was at the October , show (. which was alot for a concert ticket at that time) but only got to see the last song (Should I stay...) because we were stuck on the bridge to Shea. My st concert as a teenager and each year I celebrate the day!

1. Make believe u never heard of The Clash & then judge the album... - Take away the rep, the hype, the critical darlingness of the Clash 'the only band that matters' moniker that was given to them. Take away all of that and listen to this album with a clean slate and then form an opinion...and imho I think most would come away saying that this is NOT a masterpiece. I guess they (the Clash) were feeling very creative, very experimental, very ambitious at the time but that doesn't always lead to GOOD songs. Sometimes it leads to a meandering mess. And this album is most certainly not punk or punk'ish at all, just a heads up on that regard. Proceed at your own risk...

2. OK..maybe you DID have to be there - It really has to be said that if you were years old and a Clash fan when this came out (like me), diving into Sandanista was pure ecstasy. I still love it—every last nutty experimental thing on the album. I’m even upset that it looks like what was the last track on the vinyl album has been removed: a less-then-a-minute-long version of “Guns of Brixton” sung by what sounds like a -year-old girl.

3. How? - How does one write a review of an album in which they were years old when it came out? I was too young to know what was going on so I won't try to go back. This album is amazing and a portrait of the time it was recorded in. Can't we let it go at that? Not to be judged unless you were there and were involved. I wasn't, but I know this is a album. It's true artistry at its finest. Music made for them, by them, that they were happy with, with no worry as to how it would be received by everyone else, because in art do reviews even matter? If you get it? You get it.

4. Not their best - Some consider “Sandinista” to be the Clash’s “White Album.” And some consider it a sloppy, overproduced mess. I tend to lean towards the latter. You could put together a very respectable Clash anthology without including a single song from this album (with the exception of “The Magnificent Seven,” of course). That said, for $., you could probably find enough songs out of the on offer here to justify the purchase. There are certainly great songs on this album: “The Crooked Beat,” “The Sound of Sinners,” “Let’s Go Crazy,” “Lighting Strikes,” “Charlie Don’t Surf,” “Rebel Waltz,” “The Equalizer,” all come to mind. There are also a lot of forgettable, mediocre songs: “Police on My Back,” “Somebody Got Murdered,” “Hitsville UK,” “Something About England,” “Up In Heaven,” “Corner Soul,” etc. And then there are some (“Lose This Skin,” “Washington Bullets,” “Kingston Advice”) that are just unlistenable, Godawful crap. There is some truly challenging stuff, like the musique concrete inspired “Mensforth Hill,” or the last song “Shepherd’s Delight,” which one must give props for just for the outside-ness of it all. But the problem with “Sandinista” is that it is essentially a period piece: covering the Reagan/Thatcher era of the very early ’s. Time has not been very kind to it; this album sounds very dated. Songs like “When Ivan Meets G.I. Joe” seem hilariously antiquated today; even “The Call-Up” sounds like it was from the distant past. The influence of ska legend Mikey Dread is prevalent, and if you’re a fan of dub reggae, then that might be a plus towards getting this album. Of all the “world beat” flavors, it’s dub reggae that’s the most front-and-center. Sometimes it works (”The Crooked Beat”), and sometimes it doesn’t. Bottom line: if you’re new to The Clash – get the first album or “London Calling.” Or both.

5. Let it ride - This album is epic when to be listened to in it's entirety on on the drive on a surf/fishing trip down the baja on a cassette tape of the original vinyl. It's quirky, unexpected, loose and lazy, unpredictable nature is the soundtrack of that type of adventure. Driving in the bus or sitting in camp with not a care in the world listening to this, you just feel cooler than everyone else in the world. This does not translate on ITunes.
2013-12-09
6. Sprawling but inconsistent - Coming on the heels of London Calling, it would be nearly impossible to maintain that standard. They didn't, but there is some great music within this -record set. Unfortunately it is spread out among some weak and nearly unlistenable material. Even so, purchase it for $. and pare it down to a strong minutes or so of innovative cross-genre rock and roll!

1. First punk experience - I don't know if anyone remembers, but the DK's Jello Biafra stood trial for an "erotic" poster that was included with the original LP. It was a poster that depicted the art of an artist named H.R. Giger, the same guy who designed the scenery and the monster from the movie "Alien." Anyway, he was put on trial for "distributing harmful matter to a minor" because a teenager purchased this album and his mother found the poster. I was on the jury and after we deadlocked, the case was eventually dropped. I never listened to the Dead Kennedys before the trial, but I listened to this album afterwards and got hooked. Just wanted people to know that there was more behind this album (i.e. freedom of speech) than the messages contained within the songs.

2. most dangerous albums of all time! - This is one of the first punk albums I ever heard, so automatically it's one of my favorite... But looking back years later it is probably one of the most important American albums. It's the kennedys most pointed and directed material towards culture and the establishment. Instead of blasts of anger and rebellion, you have epic narratives.. Some songs almost are books- chapters and development.. Is it any wonder today that it was the brunt of a law suit? The whole obsenity thing was probably just a conspiracy to make this albums shut down easier because its easier to prosecute "obscene images" rather than ideas- spend money on this.. You will fear better for it.. Cause we need a Rewind in this county, not Change

3. One of the first punk records I heard - This was one of the first punk records I listened to back in the day. Not the best DK record, but certainly very good. Sad that most of the songs ring as true today as they did back then. I still from time to time think about the lyric "the symbols of our heritage, lit up proudly in the night, somehow fits to see the homeless people passed out on the lawn." If you've ever lived in DC, you know how true this is.
2010-02-01
4. Frankenchrist - This album is an amazing critque of culture and politics, i.e. hegemony, that gripped the United States in the s. It is still, twenty five years later, timely, and the methodological brillliance of Biafra's lyrics and the band's songwriting are excellent touchstones for any one that wishes to learn more about punk rock and counter culture. This is how its done. So-called punk bands of the post Reagan-Bush era take note.

5. DK at it's best. - Ok, this CD is probably the best of the DK albums. The songs here have east bay ray's guitar, kind of sharp and stingy, especialy on soup is good food. This CD is over really fast but it's an awesome CD. However, there are some songs that arent so catchy, like hellnation. I couldn't find this in any stores for a while because of the lawsuit regarding this album. I'd buy this if i were you.

6. Top notch dead kennedy's. Very anti s. - Jock O rama is one of my favorite songs. It informs us of how lame the whole jock mentality is, and how schools cater more to jocks than scholars. Mtv get off the air is fantastic as well, it speaks out agaisnt MTVs homogenization of youth culture, promotion of materialism, and general lack of substance. Stars and Stripes of Corruption is a very patriotic song for me, it reminds us of what a great country this is.

1. Bedtime for Democracy rocks! - The majority of the songs on this album are ment to shock people into looking at the world around them and see how silly and just plain old stupid it all really is. It has the great punk vibe to it, the one that says "Shut up and listen." Regardless it's fun to play around up-tight conservatives. :)

2. yea! - this is the best punk rock album ive ever heard, biafra is a machine, this album is all energy and passion.definately the best dk album,if your just getting into dk, get this album. and personally i dont think biafra's paranoia is without good reason.if ya'll would pay attention to whats goin on around you, you'd see that the government aint around for you. GET THIS ALbuM

3. my first punk rock album i ever owned - i baught this off a friend in the seventh grade which was like four years ago. i have definately changed since then i still listen to it every once in a while. if it werent for DK i would have never loved punk rock.i played a cover for "take this job and shove it" with my friends at our first "gig" LOL....

4. The only band i know that risked everything to state their opinion - These guys are great. Granted, the name "Dead Kennedy's" is really for the image and some shock value, but hey, who doesn't do a bit of that? Anyways, these guys are true hardcore punk and they sing about things that matter, not some sobby emo crap. Their messages ring even truer now, what with our idiot government.
2007-03-16
5. Excellent - This, in my opinion is their best album. Everyone of these songs are great. My personal favorites are Macho Insecurity, Take this job and shove it, anarchy for sale and rambozo the clown. All the songs also sound more crisp and better recorded. This is a deffinite get for DK fans or punk fans

1. Strong debut TSSF! - Brimming with charisma, you can undoubtedly feel the emotion within Parker Cannon! He virtually plummets himself throughout the lonesome caliphate from songs like Mt. Diablo, Quicksand, and Placeholder! The obscure satirical nature comes within sociological interests, especially with Parker singing when feeling peeved, and overcome with austere magnesium rich basalt. Rest assured, you'll be exhorting anthems that allure of unbeknownst premonitions from this catchy project!
2018-06-18
2. Flawless - Fell in love the first time I heard it years ago, still feels new every time I hear it. Parker's dynamic range and unique delivery coupled with the driving melodies are what grabbed me right away. This album transformed the entire genre. Unpopular opinion, but Closure is the best track the band has ever made.

3. I wasn’t going to write a review... - BUT: Somebody else gave it a star review and I couldn’t sit back as a band as talented as this one is butchered by another reviewer for no good reason. This whole album is extremely solid, and so are all of The Story So Far's others. The lyrics are great, and the musicianship is some of the best we have in the genre. Parker’s vocals are belted out passionately and aggressively but not screamed, which is refreshing as some band’s singers constantly scream and can become distracting and occasionally even annoying. All the songs on this album range from very good to incredible: Songs such as Quicksand, Swords and Pens, and the fan-beloved Mt. Diablo will have you head-banging and mosh-pitting for days, while you will also get sucker-punched straight in the feels with songs like Placeholder. My only complaint is the mix, but being their debut full length album, can we really complain? And what the production lacks in quality, the band makes up for in every other aspect. Thank you The Story So Far.

1. Truly a masterpiece! - This album is the amazing in every way. Their music consistently get better and better. Strung Out is by far the most underrated band I've ever heard. Amazing talent from each member. I started listening to Strung out When I was . Just to put that in perspective for you I'm now . Punk/hardcore bands have come and gone in my life but Strung Out has always earned a spot as one of my favorites. Now being years in they're definitely my all time favorite. I Usually like the heavier stuff from them but I must say "no apologies" is freaking awesome! Truly a song I can relate to with my kids and gets me sentimental every time I hear it. Keep up the unparalleled work gentlemen!

2. Strung Out Always Delivers - I saw these guys deliver it with Bring Out Your Dead in , and here I am still loving their hooks and melodies in . Technical musicians throughout, these guys deliver big time here, as always. If somehow you are just discovering these guys then buy in...their discography is astounding. No matter if you start at the beginning and work to today or vice versa, they maintain their orignal sound regardless of whats "hot". Just fantastic rock music.

3. Classic Strung Out in ! - To be talking about a band who has been shredding punk rock music since the 's new album as amazing and true to their sound as opposed to in other terms is truly amazing. And, this isn't fanboy excitement over this album. From cover to cover or the first MB to the last MB this album is a mix of medic medal and punk rocks chords. If you only plan on buying one song to "check it out" save yourself the time and the second entering of your iTunes password and just download the entire album. You don't need to go toes in the water on this one. Well done!

4. Reliable Strung Out - I’ve been a fan of Strung Out from the very beginning, and this new album will secure anyone’s similar dedicated following. Transmission.Alpha.Delta brings those recognizable Strung Out signature tight sounds with hard driving guitars, flawless and complex drumming, and Jason’s stellar vocal accompaniment tying it all together. Recommended all the way for those who have ever been Strung Out fans or for those wondering what they are all about, you wont be disappointed!
2015-03-26
5. Best Album of the Year So Far - I personally think it’s one of their best albums to date, if not the best. Standout tracks are The Animal and the Machine, Black Maps, Nowheresville, and No Apologies. That said, there’s not a single bad song on the album. This album pushed them into one of my favorite bands of all time. Absolutely worth buying if you like them.
2015-03-26
6. Complete - This Strung Out album is everything and more that you could ever ask for. Its melodic, fast, metally and true to there sound. By far the best album in a while. There is nothing but amazement that this band can keep building on a sound that is so unique and fresh, no other punk band has been able to do. Still and always the most played artist on my itunes. thanks Strung out for your hard work and dedicaiton to real music.
2015-03-25
7. WOW! Just WOW!!! - If anyone thought Strung Out had abdicated their throne as the Kings of Punk Rock, they were a T.A.D. wrong! With Transmission.Alpha.Delta. Strung Out cements their legacy as the greatest punk rock band in history! No song on the album sounds recycled, reused, or geriatric. And yet, the album still retains that quintessential Strung Out feel! This album is, exactly, a perfect addition to the amalgamation that is the Strung Out catalog of music!
2015-03-24
8. Worth the wait - I’ve been listening to Strung Out since I was in junior high. They were one of the bands that got me into punk rock in the first place, and I think it’s pretty telling that I still look forward to every album they put out. Transmission.Alpha.Delta is a great follow-up to Agents of the Underground — one of the things I love most about this band is that each of their albums has its own sound, a distinct tone, but they always manage to still sound like Strung Out.
2015-03-24
9. Doesn't Disappoint! - If you're a fan of Strung Out already, then you can breathe easily. On Transmission.Alpha.Delta, we hear the familiar outstanding guitar work, driving beat, and Jason's vocals that still fit perfectly. I think we get to hear more of their influences (and perhaps a few tips of the hat) on this record, and that's fine with me! For new fans, I can't recommend this band enough - whether you like punk, pop, or metal, there is something here for everyone. One final note: while I value iTunes as a service, I recommend always buying the albums from the artists themselves if you can. In this case, I got the vinyl LP and a very high quality download directly from the label for the same cost. I've been buying the CDs and donating them to the library. Support the artists!

1. It's Good to be in Florida - It's good to be in Florida where this band has influenced so many musicians. This is an outstanding album, not just a song here and there. It flows from song to song with a tremendous full wall of sound done the way only a veteran band can pull off. Every note, every instrument and each word of the vocals are all crisp, sharp and have a purpose in the songs. This is truly art.

2. Changed My Mind About LTJ - I was never a big fan of Less than Jake. I could not connect with their lyrics and the song structure always felt chaotic. 'See The Light' has completely changed my mind about what the band is capable of. The song writing on this album is superb. The lyrics speak to me and the song forms are extremely satisfying. Well worth my money.
2014-04-01
3. LTJ is back! - IMO this is their best album in years (since Borders & Boundaries). Being one of my all time favorite bands since , I have to admit that I was starting to lose faith in the band until I received my " vinyl through their preorder in the mail last week. It took a couple of listens, but I have to admit this is a great album from st to last song. Being a long time fan, I can tell you that they really put their heart and soul into the music and especially the lyrics. I will always have SOOO much love of Pezcore, Losing Streak, & Hello Rockview, but I feel that this album is their fullest sounding album to date. st time listeners of this album: check out the songs Sunstroke, My Money is on the Longshot, Jump, & Good Enough. Although, I think they are all very good.

1. Why not just listen to an actual buzzsaw? - Quick, after listening to the first seconds of each song how many can you distinguish from each other? Same chord progressions over and over and over. I get it, this is what punk is all about, but couldn't they throw a little variety in here? "California Sun" (definitely like Johnny's surf guitar, after all he is truly a rhythm guitarist) is the best this album has to offer and their cover of "Needles and Pins" is the best the Ramones have to offer.

2. This has almost nothing to do with the album, but I would just like to point out... - Track , Blitzkrieg Bop (Live At The Roxy) Isn't even a live performance. Doesn't really matter much to me, but you might want to look into that itunes. But other than that, the only thing left I have to say is that this album is like Gold to me. Almost every song I knew and listened to with my Dad in the car as a kid and each one holds precious memories. So with that, and the fact that the music is great and fun to listen to, I recommend this album to anyone who is into s punk and s pop punk. LONG LIVE THE RAMONES! r.i.p Joey, Johnny, & Dee Dee

3. attention - the ramones are one of, if not the, greatest bands ever, and certanly the best punk band. I wasn't born when Rocket to Russia came out, but I do know that the Ramones never had a top hit. So, and I know that over in england their doing the same thing with the sex pistols, try to get Blitzkreig Bop, or any hit, to Number by June st,

4. Great follow-up to a great debut album. - The greatest punk band of all time (in my opinion) delivered another classic album with Leave Home. California Sun is perhaps the most famous song on the album, although it was not written by the Ramones. Suzy is a Headbanger is another classic Ramones song, as is Pinhead, one of my personal favorites. It's almost impossible not to nod your head when Johnny Ramone breaks into that classic riff near the end of the song and is joined by Joey Ramone's chants of "Gabba Gabba Hey!".
2009-11-27
5. Classic record!! - Not as much a follow-up to their self-titled debut as a continuation. This one kicks off with my favorite Ramones song Glad to See You Go and continues to deliver some of their greatest tracks including Suzy is a Headbanger Pinhead Gimmie Gimmie Shock Treatment. The new re-release has a ton of great live tracks so this record is a bargain--great studio album great live album for bucks! Sweet!
2008-09-06
6. Punk Rock in a nutshell - I love this album because it's so energetic and it's stacked with awesome songs. It's one of those albums that you can play all the way through and there is not a single bad song, plus you get an awesome live concert as a bonus! But iTunes mispelled track ... it's supposed to CARBONA not glue, not CARBONARA not glue, just for the record ;)
2008-08-08
7. Sweet - The Ramones may be the greatest rock band that ever walked this earth. This is the third best Ramones album behind Rocket to Russia and the self-title debut (when you getting that, iTunes?????). Anyway, I recommend Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment, Pinhead, Suzy is a Headbanger, Babysitter... The whole thing! The neat thing about this expanded re-release is that you get two albums in one: the regular studio recordings and a live at roxy album! Why are you still reading this? BUY IT!!!!!!!
2008-07-29
8. Very good - I took me awhile to catch on to this album after listening to the first... they really stepped it up. They are not as lively as "Rocket to Russia" (their next album), but they are almost there. The sound of the music is very much improved. I definately recommend this album as a good follow-up after listening to the bands first album.
2008-03-24
9. One of the best Ramones albums. - Ramones Leave Home, like The Clash's Give 'Em Enough Rope, had a large shadow cast over itself by it's behemoth brothers Ramones and Rocket to Russia (in The Clash's case, it was The Clash and London Calling that were the big ones), but is in no way worse than those two. Leave Home takes a more bubblegum sound to it, which makes the songs poppier than the songs on Ramones. It is a definite buy for any punk fan, any Ramones fan, or basically just any fan of modern music. My personal favorite songs are Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment, Pinhead, and Suzy Is a Headbanger. Also, you're getting tracks for .. Need I say more?
2007-11-29
10. A must buy for any punk fan! - This is in my opinion the Ramones greatest album featuring some of their very best songs such as "Commando", "Pinhead", "Shocktreatment", and many others. Not only that but it also includes an entire live show with a bunch of other classic songs. The Ramones really were the best at what they did and in this album they were in their prime. Being as big a Ramones fan as I am I'd say this is the best punk album of all time BUY IT PINHEADS!!!
2007-11-27
11. How Do You Sniff Pasta Sauce? - I remember enjoying this album when it was released, especially after having seen the Ramones at CBGB's numerous times. After their show my ears would literally ring for days! This album was less of a shock to the senses than the first album if you'd never heard them before perhaps because it's more "fun" than the first one. However as goofy as some of the songs are I don't think Joey would've been so sedated or pinheaded as to title a song "Carbonara Not Glue". I think you guys at iTunes have been sniffing too much furniture polish...
2007-11-02
12. Best. Ramones. Ever! - The Ramones are one of the best bands of all time, in my opinion, and this is their best album. Many people say their self-titled debut album is their best, and while that one may be more original(by virtue of being their first), this is just a better collection of songs. What does it sound like? Catchy, high-energy punk rock songs. Ramones wrote the book on punk, creating a template followed by thousands of bands after them. If you only buy one Ramones album, buy this one. Best songs: Glad To See You Go(my fav. Ramones song ever, btw), Carbona Not Glue, Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment, Commando, You Should Never Have Opened That Door.....really though, all the songs are winners.

13. boombox, ripped jeans and youth - This album to a kid was the physical form of rebellion. I had it on album and ready for this one?? cassette tape! Commando echoing through the local train station while going to Harvard Square in Cambridge to skateboard...come on what could be better.... When buying a compact stereo with my Dad he said to the salesman " Can you have a button placed on this machine so that it cant blast the Raaaaaamones".... A truly powerful album for a wonderful time when youth blazed like the sun. Gabba Gabba Enjoy Om

14. Oh Oh I Love This Album So - (Note: I'm reviewing the first songs because I haven't heard the live songs, tracks -) The Ramones introduced us to punk in the 's with their debut album, The Ramones, which was probably the greatest (and most cheerful) punk album ever made. The follow up was Leave Home, which turned out to be just as good, if not better than the first Ramones album. Leave Home is very happy and very upbeat. The songs are faced paced and a lot of fun. It contains songs of love ("Oh Oh I Love Her So") and songs of loss ("Glad to See You Go"), and several off-the-wall tracks, but no filler. Great songs on a great album. Well done. Recommended Tracks: "Glad to See You Go" "Gimmie Gimmie Shock Treatment" "California Sun"
