1. Ultra Chill - A friend suggested that I listen to this band and I am glad she did. Virtuoso guitarist, beautiful and at times haunting melodies backed by a rhythm section that defines the term ultra chill. Whether it is instrumental tracks or vocal tracks each has a soundscape that is creative and evocative. They take the listener to a place of bliss. Once I started listening to this band I couldn’t stop. Thanks for the suggestion KarlaG!

2. infectious melodies and soothing grooves - In a time of over sampled and glitched out and over produced stuff that media calls music, this is a welcome breath of fresh air. One would think this came out in the 's or 's even since it is simple, and groovy and has kind melodies that stay with you all day long. This is some of my favorite work music.

3. What a delight - I am so grateful and excited to have discovered this band... Their tone is SICK... I've watched them perform on YouTube live and they are the real deal... can't wait to see them when they are touring. What makes them so good is the mixture of so many influences and meshing it into something that flows naturally and sounds unique -- they are all talented musicians, but don't feel the need to emblish that on their songs... GREAT work guys!

4. A perfect blend - I'm hard pressed to find anyone that doesn't like this band after I've introduced them. Tight transitions, standout playing from each of them, catchy hooks, head bobbing. Their music is fun yet so sly that you can have it on in the background. The review that iTunes provided is spot-on, so many genres and sounds effortlessly blended. If you enjoy the Budos Band, El Michels Affair, Diplomats of Solid Sound, Galactic, Nomo, Mulatu Astatke, or the Poets of Rhythm you just might love this band too.

1. Troubadour R&B - I am really loving this EP. It is perfect mood music that just makes you feel like you stumbled into a cool Texas/Jazz/R&B bar and discovered an amazing band that is just giving you all the good drinks, good life, good jam session feels. It makes me want to dance cook with a good wine or write a smooth manifesto. Worth the $.

1. Stumbled on a gem - Not even sure what I was looking for on Youtube when I came this very cool assembly of four. Have not stopped listening .... going on a week now..... all equally talented but Rachel's voice is immediately mesmerizing.... and Bridget with that upright bass, slapping that thing like it owes her money.... so cool

2. L VE these amazing musicians! - As Rachael said in the BOSE session, "music is the most direct way into our hearts." Her voice and the wonderfully synced musicians harmonious beats and melodies really do wend their way into our hearts. Thanks Lake Street Dive for your dedication to your art. L VE your stuff!!!

3. I got something to say - This is a great band with a dynamic singer that demands your attention. She definitely has “it’! So, riddle me this: why, if she is as dynamic as Meghan Trainor or Adele, do we continue to import talent rather than embrace our own!?!?! If you are sick and tired of foreign accents on every media format in the USA…like this! And, Support LAKE STREET DIVE!!!

4. Get Rid of the Studio Engineer Jeez - They sound so much better live. Don't like the keyboards they injected into the songs. Don't like the last two songs, so hopefully they don't continue in that direction. Great band, decent songs, but they sound over filtered. Hope they release another live album soon.
2016-03-07
5. Disappointing, safe, vanilla - I bought this with having listened to anything beyond the single, because I love Lake Street Dive. But wow, what a disappointment. I didn't want a repeat of Bad Self Portraits, but something similarly raw and honest, and this just feels like a heartless, strange attempt at some pseudo-revival s lame R&B sound. Even the recording sounds like they're playing in a closet. I'll just hope they come up with something better next time.
2016-02-26
6. Another home run! - After waiting for what seemed a very long time for Lake Street Dive to follow up Bad Self Portraits, Side Pony is finally here and it delivers! The band continues to develop & refine their unique brand of Motown/soul/jazz infused pop with the addition of some distinctly 's disco influenced tunes on this album taking it to a new place without losing that special character that their fans have come to appreciate & love. Buy it... Play it... Love it!

7. Chills - After recently becoming obsessed with Lake Street Dive, I listened to Bad Self Portraits way too many times to count. Rachel’s voice is addicting, and I am in love with every note, inflection, and run she manages to sing. Side Pony gave me head to toe chills on the first listen. Incredible musicianship, and absolute genius.
2016-02-22
8. Another reason they are my favorite band! - Two years ago I accidentally came upon them and instantly fell in love with the talent of this band. Every one of them is super talented and Rachel’s voice is other worldly. I am glad they got some recognition with their last album. Side Pony does not disappoint. I like the variety of styles and can’t wait to see them again this year.
2016-02-20
9. Stellar - Production songwriting arranging lyrics hooks melodies dance grooves. This is a modern cutting edge throwback collection of music that touches on all the genres and hits that we have heard all our lives. Starting with old school jazz and breezing through soul into hip hop with a perfect blend of pop. As good as Side Pony is the best is yet to come. The best band in the land.
2016-02-20
10. Best album yet - My wife and I love Lake Street Dive and have followed Rachael Price's solo musical career even before she helped found LSD. We have all of their music and I think this new album is their best one yet due to strong production and the demonstrated artful proficiency of each of the band members as soloists and as a tight group. I can't wait to see where this takes them next!
2016-02-19
11. Nostalgic, Soulful Rock & Roll - The musicianship of this group is undeniable. Resurrecting old-school influences from the late 's and stormy 's, Lake Street Dive has released an all-around fantastic album with "Side Pony".. Each track exudes genuine nostalgia and soul, reminding us that the great canons of pop music can never be fully erased from the musical landscape. "I Don't Care About You" is a loudly strutting reminder of the atmospheric power of guitars and the multitude of ways the human voice can channel indifference and genuine disappointment while still managing to be fun as hell. "Mistakes" makes a strong argument for the inclusion of bluesy trumpeters in songs whenever possible. If you're looking for organic rock music with nostalgic hues of soul and soft jazz, then you need to buy this record.

12. Mistakes sound quality? - Is Mistakes supposed to make my speakers sound like they are blown? Or is that a technical glitch? I have decent Bose speakers, other music sounds great through. But the drums in Mistakes sound over compressed. Either way, Lake Street Dive is incredible. Keep up the good work! Can’t wait for the rest of the album.
2016-02-13
13. Best sound around - Over the last couple years, whenever I have been asked “who’s your favorite artist nowadays?”, my response has always been Lake Street Dive. Their sound is so unique, and showcases each individual band member’s talent. Rachael Price’s voice sounds like pure gold, hitting ranges that will make your jaw drop. I’m not a talented singer by any means, but that doesn’t stop me from cranking the volume on a Lake Street Dive song and belting it. These are legends in the making. Treat yourself and become part of history by indulging in a band that is going to, without question, be the next big thing.

14. Just keeps getting better - For those who still love real music made with real instruments and not some touch pad and computer Lake Street Dive is for you. The unique voice of Rachael Price, which captivates a crowd in seconds (I've seen it in person three times now), combined with the trumpet and guitar skills of Mike Olson, rhythm and style of Mike Calabrese on drums, and last, but certainly not least, one of the best and most talented bassist of her time, Bridget Kearney, makes soulful music that brings you back to the good ole days. (They also put on one heck of a show live.) I was sold at their first album, Lake Street Dive, fell in love at their second album, Bad Self Portraits, and will most likely reach nirvana once all of Side Pony hits my ears. If you have to get into one new band in make it Lake Street Dive and jam out to some of the best music coming out this day in age.
2016-02-04
15. Bringing good music back - These people are ridiculously talented. And, not only are they all extremely talented, they are the epitome of a great, united band. Even though Rachael Price seems to steal the show with her unmatched vocal ability, the band as a whole combines for the songwriting aspect, with their killer bassist, Bridget Kearney, taking most of the lead in that area. Along with their vocal and songwriting prowess, Mike Calabrese provides tasteful drumming combined with great harmonies that sugar coat Lake Street Dive’s vocals and Mike Olson’s sultry trumpet/guitar expertise. This band is absolutely ridiculous, and this CD will be nothing short of that. I’m very excited to see how far they can go with a record label that is able to promote them. Buy this CD!

16. Pre-Oredered, Pre-loved - Having st seen Lake Street Dive in the "Another Day Another Time" documentary, I instantly fell in love with both the talents of the members and the beauty of the songwriting. Now that I have seen them live twice, they reign in a select gropu of my "top bands" I got to see them perform "Call Off Your Dogs" live on // in San Luis Obispo.... They just keep bringing it...Thank you LAKE STREET DIVE

2. Mac your my man in music - Mac DeMarco is a really chilling artist as he is a great composer his music is so relaxing and daydream. I really wish he continuous making great music as this his third album debuted and I listen to all his songs and they all sound very very good. I also need to buy this album soon cause when I don't have this album in my music I feel left out and sad and seem Mac always making me feel better through out my day

3. Great Follow up to Salad Day - I found Salad Days in a small restaurant in Portsmouth called Pie & Vinyl playing through some 's hifi speakers that were mounted on the walls and in the corners. The sound takes you back to that time period but with an updated edgy feel to it. Happy to see that Mac has kept to style and sound. Great listen.

4. A beautiful album - This album is heavenly. The melodies are perfect and so happy, the lyrics are too relatable to not hit you, the instrumentation is beautiful. I really think this is Mac's best work. BUY THIS ALBUM. Best song(s) - Still Beating is by far my favorite, but the whole album is perfect from start to finish.

1. Hoping for some growth - So, I really enjoy this band. I have downloaded several of their albums and have enjoyed the subtle differences of each one. At their core, they have shown the growth and development of the band as a whole as their sounded evolved. With this album, after listening to it several times, I struggle to get the same sense of enjoyment. When you buy albums they fit into one of three categories: ). The album that you know you are going to love from the get go. ). The album you take a gamble on and after continued listening grows on you. ). The album that you take a gamble on and try to like, but you know probably won’t get as much play time as you had hoped for the investment. This album fits into category for me right now. I’m hoping that I’m wrong and that it will at least evolve to category . Disintegration of Anxiety was a cool change. Losing the Light had some call backs to other albums. The starting tracks were okay but got washed through as the album progressed.

2. I'm really trying to like this - I've held off writing a review for several months, hoping that the album would grow on me. It just hasn't. Long time EITS fan. Listening to The Wilderness, it's easy to forget that you're listening to EITS and think you mistakenly put on a Moby album. It's not that there aren't some good songs on here (Tangle Formations chief among them) there's just nothing that draws me back again and again like all of the other albums. Maybe it's just too much of a departure from the previous albums.

3. Pure Chills - I love this group and have for a really long time. These guys could have put out another great typical post rock record, but they went so much further. This blends in the amazing atmosphere of The earth is not a cold dead place, mixes it with the creativity of The rescue, and looks forward to uncharted territory. I can't stop listening to it and each time I do, I am amazed by the arrangements and production. I even went out and bought it on vinyl so I could lay back in my bed with the lights low and just feel this album. Hands down their best yet.

4. Words Can Not Describe - Amazing album. I’ve always loved Explosions in the Sky, and was content with my various playlists of their work - but this was an incredible surprise. As with any previous descriptions of their sound, the complexities of emotion and instrumental bliss - words can not adequately describe how good this music is. Btw, I’ve not ever written another review of an album - but this one. I just couldn’t help it. It’s that good!
2016-04-12
5. Greatness - I have always Loved Explosions In The Sky. I remember the first time I started listen to them in . They were so different from anything else I have ever heard. Over the years they came out with some pretty cool stuff, but with their latest album “the Wilderness” it brings me back to the place I was, when I first fell in love with their music. Listen to their songs on this album really sets the bar at a new height for experimental ambiance with intentional flairs of seamless voicing. Great job to all of you who put this Album into reality. Blessings! and Thank you!

6. A letdown to a longtime fan - The songs in their older albums had more structure and built up to something, this album is more ambiguous noise that I think lacks a purpose without that climactic ending that Explosions songs normally deliver. Still enjoyable, however, just not what I have come to expect from them.
2016-04-09
7. What the What!!??!! - This album is incredible. It's one of those albums that you play, enjoy every single song so much that your air playing every instrument in a crowded starbucks and not give a single care. EITS puts their heart and soul into their music, it's absolutely evident in their music, especially this album. Real talent and love for music that does not need words to evoke such emotion. I'm an EITS fan and I'm from TEXAS!
2016-04-06
8. A progression, but a good progression - I’ve been an EitS fan since buying the Friday Night Lights soundtrack the day after I saw the movie in a theater. This is their first album in five years, not including a few movie soundtracks. I was cautious that it would be too much of a departure from their previous stylings after hearing the early release of Disintegration Anxiety. Even on the first listen, it hooked me and it hooked me good. More ambient than their previous work, but still a lot of hopeful melodies working up and down and carrying each song along.
2016-04-05
9. Wilderness - This album is phenomenal. EITS tackles such a different monster than what they usually do this time around. This time the songs aren't a dive over a waterfall or a jump off the tallest mountain in the world. Instead, the songs are a quiet morning staring at the ripples in the lake. They are laying next to the one person you know you want to share your life with. They are the content acceptance a life lived to its completion. These songs speak on such a deeper level than their previous siblings. 'Wilderness' is especially memorable.
2016-04-04
10. Gotta tip your cap to 'em - This album won't really remind you of any of their past albums. It doesn't always offer instant gratification, either. Dive into The Wilderness enough though and you'll start to recognize just how well orchestrated the album is. The Wilderness does more with less, as it permits your imagination to exceed the boundaries more so than any other EITS album has before it. The Wilderness may provoke strange and completely original feelings that you've never felt before. There's a lot of new things to discover here in The Wilderness, and I highly recommend taking this adventure with Explosions in the Sky.

11. Mr. - Been an Explosions in the Sky fan for about years now...now I am no musician but this album was a letdown (I still love you guys!) It didn't have the impact of Those Who Tell The Truth Shall Die (amazing album), All of A Sudden I Miss Everyone, or even The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place. I've been listening to it for days and...the only song that clicked was Disintegration Anxiety, and that was okay. None of it resonated with me, and I couldn't find the depthness you would find in Those Who Tell The Truth Shall Die, Those Who Tell The Truth Shall Live. I hope to see more albums in the future! :-)
2016-04-03
12. Perfectly Crafted - I don't write reviews much but I really really dig these guys. What an amazing album more orchestrated then any of their prior work. I can tell down the road after more and more listens I'll argue this is the best explosions in the sky album. The ecstatics is a great song along with every other song take a listen.
2016-04-02
13. Lessons - I've listened to EITS since their first album. Honestly to me, this is their best album. EITS have kept all the aesthetics that make their sound unique from all the other post rock groups, but have now introduced other elements to make it fresh. I think they really took a cue from the All The Sudden I Miss Everyone remix album and ran with it. This is by no means an electronic album, rather the electronic elements they have incorporated enhance the album, not take away. Strings are very apparent on this one too, which again, makes everything full. I highly recommend this release.
2016-04-02
14. After listening to the entire album... - As one of the first reviewers who has ACTUALLY listened to the entire album, all the “pre-reviews” are justified. Good god, this is amazing. Tops all previous efforts. That is an imeasurable accomplishment too as I figured nothing could ever top take care, take care, take care. The record is mastered incredibly, they didn’t totally abandon what makes them special, but they explored new areas. They take you places you didn’t think the would or could. All the cerebral-ness of previous records are there. The spine tingling/nostalgic/comforting/introspectiveness exists. It feels like simultaneously like an overcast rainy day on a motorcycle cruising the winding Denver mountains, as it does a bright sunny midwestern morning with grass thick with dew. Makes sense? Trying to describe it is too difficult. IT’s music that makes you feel, see, and hear things outside of yourself. My life is enhanced by it. IT does to me what no other music can. And I thank you for it. Sincerely, I appreciate the service you guys provide. It’s magic.
2016-04-01
15. YES - THE WAIT IS FINALLY OVER. I am an avid explosions fan and will be till the day I die. Every single album has simply blown me away I am so exited for this. This album will hopefully be absolutely amazing. I'm excited and nervous to see where the band will go with this album because it has been so long. Hopefully they can stand the test of time and prove they're still the best indie rock band out there! Love you guys

1. Underrated & Over hated of an album - It’s first half is amazing with the underrated by the other side and some classics such as you only live once. The middle half is really solid with some bumps along the way but after that skip kill to sleep and go to Ize Of the world which is out right the best song on the album.
2022-11-09
2. Not Perfect, but severely underrated - If you are a Strokes fan, you will learn to love this album. Sure, some tracks aren’t the best. But I can tell you for a fact, if this isn’t the most fun I’ve had with a strokes album. Out of the tracks off the album, of them slap. The exception really being minutes and the repetitive fear of sleep at some points. This album is great and every strokes fan should go through a FIOE phase.
2020-04-15
3. Don't listen to what they say about FIOE!! - I love this album! It's not my favorite album by the Strokes, but it is definitely worth a couple of listens because it will grow on you. It also has my nd favorite Strokes song (Heart In A Cage) on it. Do yourself a favor and buy it! After all, it is still a Strokes album. ;)
2014-02-14
4. Strokes best album - I know that's a bold statement, but this is my favorite album and I believe it's also their best. It is their most progressive to date and the songwriting/lyrics really matured in this one. In some ways I compare it to Weezers "Pinkerton"...Pinkerton didn't get great reviews when it first came out but now it is recognized as their best album. F.I.O.E. is similar in that in gets better with every listen and the whole album tells a story from beginning to end that is happy, sad, tragic, dark, hopeful and uplifting all at the same time. Supposedly this album is when Julian decided to go sober and you can hear the cold, hard truth of self-realization that comes along with sobriety and it translates into lyrics beautifully. Amazing music here, this is The Strokes at their best.
2013-06-29
5. Excellent Album - I have never listened to their previous work but this album is awesome i bought only because i wanted the track "You Only Live Once" and i am glad i did. Juicebox is such an awesome track as well as "Heart in a Cage" Do not miss to hear such a great music my friend get this album right now!
2013-05-27
6. ;-; - This is actually my favorite strokes album. When I listen to music I really seek to feel the music and the depth of it than the poppy-ness or how good the music sounds. This album is really great. Better lyrics than room on fire, definitely, and more honest. I really like it, and you kind of get to understand the meaning and every song is beautiful.
2013-05-25
7. Great! - I am , and I discovered the Strokes freshman year. I have to say, this album is amazing. It's edgy, with Julian's tight, frustrated vocals and intense guitar riffs and lyrics. I play guitar, but the guitar in this album is something I will never be capable of. Buy all of the Strokes albums, and do not overlook this one!
2013-04-03
8. SHOCKED to only see ratings?! - I've never written a review on itunes before, hopefully that speaks for itself. The Strokes never have failed to amaze me, and this album IS amazing. If you love the Strokes, you'll love this album, there's NO WAY around it! It's just so mellow and good, every song. Definitely a more "ballad" feel, Julian's voice melts me. Heart in a cage gives me goosebumps, evening sun gives me chills, and vision of division makes me cry. The Strokes put me in the best mood, calm and peaceful, inspired and creative, hopeful and loving. Seriously, just listen to the previews, and buy it! If you are a true Strokes fan, you won't be disappointed!

1. Awesome album! - I first found this album after listening to “Collapse” from the game Burnout Paradise (good game btw) and I’ve been stuck on these songs since!
I think Cove Reber left because his voice couldn’t hold up at live performances, but he sounded good on this album... and I don't mind Anthony Green’s voice from later (and earlier) years, I just wish he didn’t scream as much (just cause I’d rather hear clean vocals with awesome music over screamo - again, only my personal opinion.)
Overall I’d say this is definitely worth the money!

1. No, You're Crying. - Listening to the album all the way through was like a chronological memory trip through my past romantic relationships and occasions of obsession. Mitski reminds me of how I used to feel about love. "Puberty" Leaves me weeping, in a love-letter-writing mood, and all together more joyful.
2017-06-01
2. (Morrissey, If You're Reading This... - you should buy this album b/c it will change your life!) Anyone else reading this should buy it, too. After a summer of spins, this album still moves and surprises me. Managing to sound both intimate and universal, Mitski produces a real thing of beauty and power. No lie--the celebrated "Your Best American Girl" track is as good as you've heard: it's as if Brian DePalma and Stephen King went off to Starbucks together, and Carrie was allowed to reach her own epiphany on being "the Other." Maybe her peers still got torched, or maybe Carrie just went on to be an indie queen on her own fiery terms. The last track, too, oh-so-short and stark, is an absolute stunner. Like Thao's album earlier this year, Mitski's risky, personal set deserves to be heard.
2016-09-03
3. Wow! Just WOW! - Heard “Your Best American Girl” on the radio and was so captured by that one song that I went back and listened to Mitski’s previous work. Immediately purchased every album she has put out so far. What incredible music! So beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. Some of Mitski’s previous work kind of reminds me of Tori Amos (especially during her Little Earthquakes/Under the Pink years) which is also amazing music. Anyone who hasn’t taken the time to listen to all of Mitski’s work so far, it’s an absolute must for anyone who appreciates great, thoughtful music.

1. Great new 's sound - Fantastic modern take on the classic 's blues-rock sound. Great guitar work. There's nothing out there that sounds anything like this right now. They even work in country blues chords into some of their songs. I don't normally buy full albums, but I did for this. All the songs are good.
2016-09-13
2. This is actually really great - As someone who has been in a heavy rotation with rap music lately since most other genres are pretty stale for the most part right now, this album came as a surprise. This is probably one of the best rock albums of the year, aside from Blackstar and AMSP. This album is definitely worth a purchase.
2016-06-26
3. accidental discovery - i had an account with "vinyl me please", and last month they sent me pinkerton by weezer. But inside was a blank (no label) small vinyl with two singles on it one in which was the title track. i had no clue what it was but shazam helped me out and i love the album it came from.

4. Well-Earned Praise - This album is critically acclaimed in its music media reviews, and for good reason. It is solid from the first note of the opening track (No Woman) until the satisfying close of final song (Follow). Outstanding song writing, fabulous vocals and harmonies, feel good tones, great musicianship. All are present on this outstanding record. What a joy to listen!!

1. Inconsistent - This record is really inconsistent; there are three great tracks (Out of Mind, Under the Sun, and Dopamine), but the rest of the album just doesn't have the magic that Oshin had. I think Cole waited to long to get this out and ended up overthinking it. But there are certainly good songs here if you take the time to listen a few times.
2019-01-28
2. Dazzling - Is the Is Are does something phenomenal that most great shoegaze albums tend to do — It presents powerful, dissonant and abrasive walls of distortion while somehow managing to be melancholy, dreamy and beautiful at the same time. With tracks adding to over minutes, Is the Is Are really is the perfect shoegaze album for .
2016-02-11
3. Great follow up to an incredible debut - I've listened to Oshin dozens of times since it was released in . ZCS has taken the best parts of the first album and experimented on making them feel larger and louder than before. The guitars fit together like a glove on every track. The wall of sound generated by the members of the band on every track really give your ears a workout.

1. Alright then - Somebodywhoisnobody all right for starters your so called intelligent brother did nothing but quote music critics with the "untrained voice statement" Also with this music you don't judge the singing but the lyric the feel and the overall message and power of the song. You take bob Dylan or John Lennon they didn't have the greatest voices in the traditional sense but their music changed the world. Now I'm not putting this gal into their caliber but I'm saying she has the same kind of folksy music and it should be treated as such.
2011-05-23
2. Heavenly Rave - Joanna Newsom may look meek but her music is loud. And not in the cover your ears kind of way, but in the way that makes a statement. Her song Colleen is the best on the album. A great adventure, with an even greater sound. Newsom throws some pungency into the song with some shouts that give real feeling to the story of the song.

3. OW!!! - The comment from my brother is, "THAT BROKE MY HEARING AID!" Honestly, her whining voice is so grating it makes me want to jump off a cliff and end my misery! Ow, ow, OW!!! Her voice is untrained and whiny, like a yowling cat who is being boiled alive. The high notes and out-of-tune style of "Colleen" made me almost have a heart attack. When you're not a soprano, don't sing that high, honey! Stay with the mezzo range, where your voice is actually okay and sort of pretty! "She's a wailing hamster!" says my intelligent brother, "Wailing hamsters should not be allowed on iTunes!"

4. IF ONLY..... - If only there was a rating of no stars. honestly, this is the only artist i can find on itunes that i would give NO stars to. Because joanna newsom deserves NO stars. her harp playing is a catastrophe. wanna hear a real harpist. check out the classics. and her voice. untrained. im sorry love....but no. hang it up. those who know nothing of music and enjoy hearing a little girl whine, knock yourself out. but for me. no thanks.

5. Exquisitly Beautiful - The clearer, less squeaky vocals, the banjo, and amazingly wide variety of instruments used (such as banjo, and accordion, and the spoons, etc.) lend themselves to this album in such an amazing way. Joanna Newsom continues to grow and shift and sway, getting better and better with each passing album. I thought Ys was the bee's knees, it was so different than The Milk Eyed Mender and so beautiful that I thought she had peaked. I was so wrong. BUY THIS. It is worth the price, and just so amazing. It's also neat that all the songs on the EP start with C.

6. Very much worth the time - Newsom's voice comes across in this release as remarkably more mature than before- the "childish" quality that has become her signature seems more wizened in these works. In the new release Colleen, she spins a tale only she could with nuances in lyric and song that are very much her own. The remaining tracks on this CD receive a well-deserved flushing out of their instrumentations, transforming Clam, Crab, Cockle, Cowrie into more of a gem than ever and Cosmia into a very different beast; while the subtleties of the original on Ys are certainly missed on occasion when compared to this denser and more stratified version, the new colors and especially the winding down of the ending make the work alone easily worth the cost of the album. In all, my favorite tracks by Newsom to date.

7. One of the Most Brilliant and Original Singer-Songwriters of Our Time - The first time I listened to the excrutiatingly beautiful lyricism and emotional tone of "Colleen" I was overcome by feelings of archetypal nostalgia, and wept like a baby. The Y's Street Band's accompaniment is splendidly quirky and original, perfectly complementing Joanna's impressionistic lyrics and idiosyncratic singing and harp playing style. This one song, by itself, is worth the price of the album.
2008-02-07
8. Love the Y's Street Band... - After seeing her Y's show in Nashville, I was already wishing that she would re-release Y's as a "live" album with her fantastic acoustic Y's band. I love the original album, but the new arrangements for the tour added an entirely new dimension to her latest LP. This EP will give those who were not lucky enough to catch a live performance of Y's a small taste of what they missed. I think that Cosmia alone is worth the price of the full album download. I hope this is not the last we hear of Joanna and the Y's Street Band.

9. inspiring a rush ....emothional and etheral - Colleeen is a complete world and a rush. Clam, Crab, Cockle, Cowrie is emotional and spellbinding, and the Cosmia with the Y's street band is a whole journey. Dan Cantrell plays a soulful saw with Ryan Franchesconi picking along with Joanna on the harp to create a complex and etheral inward journey. This recording is one of my favourites of all of these very prolific artists.
2007-05-23
10. yum - This version of "Cosmia" is beautiful. What a great little EP, with wonderful versions of songs for fans. "Colleen" makes me wanna put on a hefty shetland sweater, pack a rucksack with cured hocks, leave my trawler at dock, and head up to the mountain to fetch a lass and a goat, respectively. Unfortunately, a plaintive, unspecial male voice interferes on "C,C,C,C."

11. obviously very few of you have seen her live... - ...because if you had you would appreciate this... you would have been waiting for this day to come... having her with this band to have and to hold is very precious thing! why do you people not understand?! when she played live she played the entire album (Ys) with five other musicians and none of the arrangements lacked any intensity... theatrical songs condensed into basically people, was amazing... we entered into it thinking how can she pull this off?? but she did, and it was better than the album. we left wanting only a recording of that performance... so to have cosmia makes happiness all around. its wonderful. thank you. adios.

12. Very Impressed - Wow! This is an amazing EP which gives me alot of high expectations for her next album. I would say this is the best stuff i've ever heard from Joanna. In the song Cosmia Joanna adds a very relaxing -minute instrumental part that ends the song. The new song Colleen is a folk song in which most of it is just the banjo and the harp together which sounds amazing! Joanna seems to be trying to change her singing alot too in this EP. You'll hardly hear any squeeking in her singing which even though she is known for her squaloring vocals I think her clearer singing sounds much better with the music.
2007-04-29
13. Ms.Newsom does it again! - Joanna Newsom never fails to impress me, even if she only produces one new track. Colleen is an amazing journey and is a new side of Joanna. Her voice seems to really come together on this EP and this extended version of Cosmia is not to be missed! If your a Joanna Newsom fan, this EP is a must have!
2007-04-25
14. she keeps getting better - joanna's voice has matured immensely since her early eps. in addition, she has added more instrumentalization, which fleshes out some of the barrenness prevalent in her older songs. 'colleen', especially, is quite a departure. the cover of 'clam, crab, cockle, cowrie' is gorgeous, though I'm not sure if I like this version of 'cosmia' as much the one on 'ys'- it seems a bit too twangy.
2007-04-25
15. She's on a Roll! - Although there's only one new song on this release, Joanna makes it a worthwhile purchase yet again. "Colleen" is catchy new addition to Newsom's repetoire and has a fun Appalachian-style country feel to it, but that doesn't do the song justice. Joanna, with her squeaky "ha!" every so often during "Colleen", makes it very much her own. As for the other two songs on this EP, "Clam, Crab, Cockle, Cowrie" has been tweaked to sound even more beautiful than the original and "Cosmia" has been given a new (albeit very subtle) workover. Overall, this is classic Joanna Newsom that never tires. Check it out, at least for "Colleen"!

1. So so good - end to end - We can only hope that Phoebe and Conor keep making more music together, because this is an absolutely stunning debut. Their voices complement each other on so many tracks in this album, and they are supported by interesting musical arrangements and memorable lyrics: "all this freedom is freaking me out" ... "chasing love like an ambulance" ... "I'm getting greedy with this private hell". "Dylan Thomas" is probably the most musically mature song on this record, and given that the pair noted that this was the last of the album songs to come together, I can't wait for what's next! Play it end to end and about the only regret you'll have is that minutes isn't enough. So so good!

2. Another Great Sound for Conor - Once again Conor Oberst comes out with a new and thoughtful sound that adds another layer to his catalogue. No matter what stage of life I’m in there’s an album or song of his that fits perfectly and now there’s more songs in the mix. I love how different each album is and this one didn’t disappoint.
2019-03-13
3. Comer f$&@ing Oberst - Amazing album, I have been a Conor Oberst fan for almost a decade and had no idea this was happening until I saw them play on Colbert. They sound fantastic together and I couldn’t buy this fast enough. He reached an amazing peak with the mystic valley band and this is even better. In love with his solo career obviously but when he finds equal talent to play with it’s always undeniably gorgeous. Hope they are planning for a second album together!

4. I love these guys!! - I don’t have the money to buy their music yet but I love everything Conor has released and I went to a Phoebe concert because I knew she was going to be his pre-show at a concert and wanted to hear her music beforehand. Her pure voice made me cry and I couldn’t even hear the lyrics clearly. These two are sure to produce something spectacular and I am beyond excited to hear what they’ve created!

1. THE BEST OF THE 's IN THIS NEW ALBUM - Really nostalgic feel with this album. I really love this one the most, the sound, lyrics, and even the price per song are reminiscent of the good old days! I love these guys and the way that they make every song unique and worth listening to from start to finish!

2. Not Your Grandma’s Pop Punk - Bursting out from Canterbury with raw passion, touching and often relatable lyrics, evenly talented musicianship from drumsticks to guitar picks, and catchy melodies and rhythms that will have pop-bubblegum listeners contemplating their interests in the “bands" they choose to worship, Moose Blood delivers one of the most compelling, confident, and solid debut albums of this generation. Songs such as Anyway, Chin Up and Boston will inspire head-banging even with only headphones in, while tracks like Cherry, Gum and I Hope You’re Miserable will bring tears and listeners to their knees with the painfully raw lyrics. But as we hear Eddy Brewerton’s pain in his singing, these tunes becomes our pleasure. As the powerful climax of Swim Down is belted: “Let me hold your hand / We can talk about our favorite bands / And how ‘Nevermind’ still blows me away,” the replacement of “Nevermind" with “I'll Keep You In Mind, From Time To Time” seems inevitable as time goes by and as this band goes to the top. /

1. Amazing - I had purchased Crossover as a teenager and then a few years later I saw them at Joe's Garage in Ft.Worth, Tx touring Thrashzone and was blown away. This is clearly one of the best bands to ever crossover from punk to thrash. This is a must have for someone who is getting into hardcore thrash with a little punk influence.
2012-03-18
2. A Lousy Idea? - So many people like bands like Suicidal Tendencies and DRI, among others, that to say that the Hardcore-Metal thing was a "lousy idea" is nonsense. It sounds amazing; indeed, this album is a good example of the form. In fact, its great! Sure the lyrics are forgettable, but thats what makes it what it is. Songs like Thrashard, Beneath the Wheel, and Abduction, with their simple lyrics and great insturments and speed, rock solid balls. This album is excellent, a must have for any and all metal and/or punk fans.

3. This thrash is king! - D.R.I. surprised many fans with the sounds of "Thrash Zone," especially those used to their earlier punk sound. Crossing over to a thrashier sound perhaps was a blessing in disguise for this quartet who seemed to put together a unique, heavy, and classic album. Definite favorites are "Thrashard," "Beneath the Wheel," "Strategy," and "Abduction." Who cares if they were punk and crossed over, D.R.I did a hell of job putting this album together. In my opinion, "Thrash Zone" is one of the best thrash metal albums of all time. I place it up there with Metallica's "Master of Puppets", Anthrax's "Among the Living," S.O.D.'s "Speak English or Die," Slayer's "Reign In Blood," Megadeth's "Peace Sells...", and Testament's "The New Order." A definite must-have for die hard fans of fast and aggressive music.

1. A beautiful, essential album - This album has been my savior these past few months. Michelle tackles grief and trauma so subtly that you don’t realize what’s happening until it’s midnight and you’re listening to The Body is a Blade and crying. If you’ve ever lost a loved one, this album is chock full of songs to help you heal - it helps that every one of them also SLAPS. Be prepared to dance, to jam, to cry, to marvel. Best played or listened to really loud, or really quiet.

2. I like this album a lot. - Ive heard some of their other albums and they were hit or miss for me, but this album has a good all round flow with some variations in genre. Enjoying it a lot while driving as it is mostly relaxing with a few grunge-like moments. I like the direction theyre going and I look forward to the next album. Favorite song on it is steps if anyone reading this is wondering (most likely not P)

1. Stuck in my Head - Minus the Bear has been stuck in my head since hearing them at Live on the Green in Nashville. Best band of the festival! Not just one song, but many. Cycling among Tame Beasts, Last Kiss, Invisible, Give and Take, and What About the Boat. Great energy and rhythms, with interesting lyrics whose meaning blew past me on first listen.

2. Smoke a joint first - It's so good. It's MTB but something is different. They have a new band member, that could be it!!?? I don't know. This sounds like a fresh band. I can't explain it. I've listened to this album so many times since it's release. The songs just flow from start to finish. Just buy it. If you're already a MTB fan you'll love it. If you're new to the band then take a chance. You won't regret it.

3. New to the Bear - I'm new to this band. Just caught them on // here in SLC live and I gotta say, they put on an amazing show, and they sounded so put together that me and my girl just had an absolute blast watching these guys perform. I felt the album was good, now that I've seen them live, its better than good, hands down. And if you get a chance, go give these guys a listen live, you will not be disappointed.

4. Trite and lame - I was bored and looking at new releases. Wow, this is so tame, soulless, and boring. Pop listeners, find something real, challenging, and reflecting real life. This is pretty much music for dead advertisements and elevator jingles where nothing is questioned and you nod along dead inside.
2017-03-05
5. Slightly different, but in a familiar way. - I was curious to see how things shaped up with a new drummer. You can certainly tell there's some style differences, but it's still minus the bear for sure. There's a few tracks that jump out right away, Silver, tamed beast, robotic heart. I've listened through the whole album - times now, and it keeps growing on me. The sound quality is great! It's got a little more electric feel at certain times, but it's done tastefully, and the album is still guitar driven. Invisible and last kiss are probably the most familiar songs in terms sound. I like when bands continue to evolve by stay true to who they are. This is a great example of this. What about the boat has an "absinthe party" feel to it, while electric heart has Jake singing in a soft falsetto while jamming the whole time. And the guitars on silver rip! It's got a little of everything. I've loved these guys for the last decade, happy the way the album came out. Cheers guys!

6. Lost in the void - Minus the Bear has always been an extremely talented group with extraordinary musical capacities. Over the years they continue to work in so much musical intricacy and time-play into their work, and every song comes out extremely unique. It is especially fun for me to listen to the musicianship of the guitarist and drummer; listening to what they can do is just amazing. Voids does not hesitate to deliver any of this that makes Minus the Bear the artists they are. The strangely slick guitar licks, keyboard, and experiments with time signatures makes for another awesome Minus the Bear record!

1. Johnny’s on a roll - This could almost be a Disc of a double album along with The Messenger. The songwriting and musicianship are just as strong and feel sonically related. There’s not a dud on it. Love it. Honestly, I don’t know what happened, but some sort of switch got turned on in Johnny that had been dormant since The Smiths disbanded. As much as I have admired his playing and writing over the years as a part of the Smiths, nearly everything he’s done between that and the Messenger has been uninteresting to me. These two records – The Messenger and Playland – feel like blossoms that I haven’t seen since Strangeways.

2. Looking for more - I doubt Jonny Marr has the desire to repeat his songwriting he did for The Smiths, which I understand, but it's a shame that he doesn't let his guitar playing shine anymore. In an interview from the s he stated, he likes "to paint with a brush, not a firehose." HIs new work is good, but I think the hose is being used a bit more.

3. The kind album that sounds great without getting played out - I know that Easy Money is the main signal on the album but here are some of my favorites: . Back in the box
. Easy Money
. Dynamo
. Candidate
. Hours
. Playland
. This Tension Preview these songs and consider buying the full album. I miss going to the record stores, there we could listen to current releases and expand on new/former artiest. :(

4. Love it! - Such a great record. There is something here for everyone. As along time Smiths fan, this doesn't disappoint. I love the newer sounding songs like Hours and Back In The Box but, my favorites are the Smith-ier sounding Candidate, The Trap and the incredible This Tension. This Tension might be the best thing Johnny's done in a very long time.

1. Entrancing and rockin - Erik Ripley always seemed to favor his experimental psych project moon duo over his more serious, nucleur rock band wooden shjips. Why, I don't know. This band is at peak form, displaying mastery of their psychedelic and droning trance rock sound. The songs literally space you out, and each song is memorable. The album feels like an album, all the songs fitting together with no filler and no wasted time. Just really well written and jamming tunes. And better on vinyl. Buy it!-Lee lapeyrouse

1. Not Amazing, but BETTER than I expected - First of all, the singles do not represent the album at all. Secondly- if you enjoyed II, Unknown Mortal Orchestra's second album, there's a good chance you'll like this more than Multi-Love. It feels like a relaxed middle ground between those two albums but not nearly as catchy as either- however that has been replaced with interesting sounds, mixing and chord progressions. I was expecting a gritty royal blood rip-off judging by American Guilt, and it's not that by any means. Well worth $. and I'm looking forward to hearing these songs live in a few weeks

2. Pitch Perfect - NEWS FLASH: has been a tire fire of a year. I'm on my second spin of this record now, and even midway through the first listen I experienced the feeling of, "Everything is going to be okay." Having been lucky enough to catch TWOD live a handful of times over the years (and also being lucky enough to have a HiFi system up to the task) listening to this album takes me right back to those old things called music venues.

1. mezmerizing album and band! - Wow! This album at first left me speachless, since there are no lyrics (pun). But, I don't know if this music could even have vocals. I've never heard anything like them! Also, what about naming songs with short poems/metaphors? That is something that is either very rare or is new to our time; the song names exceed the amount of words used in many popular songs that musically dull people listen to. It should be called, Nu-Classical! Overall, a new sound that will grab your attention andamaze you!

2. amazing concept album - probably the best that i have ever heard has anyone ever noticed that in the movie donnie darko, the womans mailbox says 'R. Sparrow' i know 'sparrow' is spelt differently, but it caught my eye, and was wondering if anyone has tried to synch the movie with the album, like the dark side of the moon/wizard of oz one

It is complex and elegant, and demands repeated listens. It is epic and woderful. 1. What's the point? - There's no purpose to this release. I bought this on vinyl, having not heard it and assuming simply that it was new matieral. I know enough Spanish to know that the first track, "With All the World," is the English translation of the first (and title) track of the other album, "Con Todo el Mundo," and I assumed it was a deliberate nod and wink. Nowhere on the vinyl edition does it say "Con Todo El Mundo in Dub" as described here. Only after getting home and comparing did I realize that all of the tracks here are some indrectly reworded version of the original titles. Furthermore, if this was your first expeosure to their music, you'd surely walk away highly disappointed. "Con todo el mundo" is such a gem; all this does is cake it in mud.

1. Wow this is just my style! - There was a trend around you might call vaporwave. Retro, chromatic, chill, stylish. But it's not contained to any one year. For as long as the instruments and production methods have been available, this sound has been done and continues to this day. You might even say the Beach Boys' 'Pet Sounds' album started this vibe. Chill, surfy vibes. Came across another Wild Nothing album, 'Nocturne', in cassette form on the retro media site, Retrospekt, which piqued my interest in finding it digitally. After sampling a few, bought the first two albums and this no questions asked. No regrets. They're beautiful albums! I drive a lot and this is perfect for passing the time. Other artists of similar vibe:
-Parcels,
-Wallows,
-Memory Tapes,
-Chromatics (Sorry, I tend to be several years behind trends, but I don't buy into hype. I know what I like when I find it.)

2. Best Album yet! - I was somewhat disappointed with their last one, life of pause. It was their melodies that always kept me coming back, and Pause wasn't up to their usual standard in that regard. But this one picks up right where Empty Estate left off, meshing amazing melodies and their evolving s pop-influenced sound. I hear a lot of the influences he's been referencing lately -- prefab sprout, blue nile, kate bush. Adult soft alternative pop rock of the s, if you will. Anyway, I love it -- highl;y recomended

1. Must Experience! - Im surprised every time i put in a new recording of anything Dan Andriano does, either in Alkaline Trio, or in the Emergency Room. His depth as a songwriter is consistenly amazing and he always finds a way to make me relate to something composed. This album is even better than Hurricane Season, which sits permanently in my iPod since i got it. My standout tracks are Don’t Have a thing, My Human Being, and Pretty Teeth, though the whole thing is really good.

1. Brilliant! - Folks...the first time I heard this band (over ten years ago), I hated them. Now...I'm a hardcore fan. This album is on my list of top ten favorites (fyi...my top ten list includes albums from The Kills, Coldplay, Foster The People, Young The Giant, Reptar, TVOTR, The Joy Formidable, Royal Blood, and The National). I think the common characteristic of my favorite albums from these bands are that they stand the test of time...and always feel fresh after multiple listens. The best way I can describe Only Run is that it is a subliminal musical world where the instrumentation and lyrics feel like a wonderful dream. It's truly infectious and may require a few listens to appreciate its beauty, poetry, strength, and timelessness. Listen to it from start to finish. It is complete and complex like a fine wine.

1. Iconic ironic enthralling compelling vulnerable strength - This band has a great balance of female and male energy. Sigur Ros meets Cocteau Twins. I play this music in Jivamukti Yoga classes and the ripe emotions and irrational poetry combined with very steady, Phillip Glass-esque instrumentation which is hypnotic, primal and accessible to a range of listeners. As people step back and forth and hold painful and pleasurable yoga stretches and measure their breath and choreography, they weep and laugh and mostly feel stirred by the inner soul expression which these young musicians are committed to live by. Sometimes I click over some of the songs because the Highasakite sound is very versatile and I don't always want to hear so many different styles. A treasure of contemporary music.

1. Great tribute to s music! - Foxygen's EP "Take the Kids Off Broadway" was great. Their full album follow-up, "We Are The st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic" was a masterpiece, in my opinion, that had set the bar so high for me, that I probably couldn't help but be disappointed with "...And Star Power," which lacked the cohesion that the other two had, and just seemed like a hodge-podge of different tracks thrown together, none of them as memorable as their earlier stuff. So I was unsure what to think when I purchased this album. Though it's no "We Are the st Ambassadors...", I'm happy to say...that it's really good! Foxygen has a way of borrowing sounds and styles from other bands, and making them their own. They were heavily influenced by psychedelic / Summer of Love groups of the late s in their first album, and I thought that it worked quite well for them, and found it refreshing. This one has a very s sound. While some of the influences are obvious (like Lou Reed, ABBA, and Neil Diamond), some of them are a bit more subtle (Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, etc.). If you like that sound (as I do, for the most part), then chances are you'll love this album. If you don't, then it's likely that "Hang" won't exactly be your cup of tea. Would have liked to have a few more tracks, as the album is pretty short ( songs, minutes), but I guess I won't complain since their last one was a double for the price of one. Overall, a great album that has me looking forward to their future endeavors. Definitely worth checking out.

2. Can't Control Myself - Foxygen has been in and out of my stereo from time to time. I'm a fan, but they don't hit me quite like bands like The Lemon Twigs or MGMT. But this album... The orchestrations... Just scanned through the previews, and I literally can't control my hand clicking the "buy" button. Can't wait to listen all the way through.

1. It's very Tim Kasher. - This album is classic Tim Kasher, if you know Cursive you know what I'm saying. He is very smart and very critical of his world. The lyrics are often in story form yet very much questions at the same time. How can I live like this? Where is my life going? How can I believe? Musically brilliant, and it's everything you're looking for in an album. Don't be shy, just buy it.

2. Faithful - Kasher is the frontman of Omaha bands Cursive and The Good Life; the former an experimental alt-rock quartet, the latter a folksier rock combo. I’m not sure what creative impulses aren’t being covered by his bands, but here comes his first solo release—a detailed song-cycle about its titular concept that splits the difference between his bands’ primary vibes. Kasher’s got a quivery, emo-infused voice akin to his labelmate Conor Oberst, though Kasher’s work is more abrasive and tough-minded (Cursive’s release The Ugly Organ is one of the best alt-rock releases of the decade). That prickly honesty’s front and center on both the faster rock tunes (“A Grown Man” and the jangly “Cold Love”) and this release’s raison d’etre—the slow ones. It’s not just the difficulty of fidelity Kasher questions throughout these tracks, but the passage of time, the decay of passion, the social inertia that creeps into even the best partnerships. These themes collide in two standout tracks—“There Must Be Something I’ve Lost,” in which an innocent perusal of a high school yearbook becomes an obsession; and the gorgeous, ethereal “Monogamy,” an entire lifetime of good and bad choices in a succinct, surgical, unforgiving five minutes.

3. Happy to buy. - Tim Kasher returns to what he does best, writing self-loathing and depressingly pessimistic songs about relationships. Some may complain about this, but i don't. The songs are catchy and its an improvement from the last cursive, and good life albums. Im in a serious relationship, and this album writes about everything i'm not feeling, but i still find the stories enjoyable and a good listen. I hope to see more of this kind of writing from tim.

1. Nathan Williams, Disciple of Surf-Rock - This album is my most anticipated album of the year. Wavves had finally reached its prime with "V" and they only continue to get better with the singles released from this album. While I am not the biggest fan of No Shade I respect it, and there is certainly nothing wrong with it besides it being outside the confines of my music taste. Nathan Williams is still a god of Bluetooth speakers in skater's backpacks.

1. Incredible - I consider the day I ran across this groups song "Headlights" on Facebook to be on of my most pivotal days as a person. I had no idea about the inspiration and wonder that would follow in the next few years. Give this group a listen and also check out Vocal Few, it's the lead singer and his wife.

2. A Classic Album - Although I love Albatross, this cd sounded a bit more refined. All of the songs are sung with passion and have deep lyrics. I love this album because I can listen to it while experiencing any mood and still be impacted by it. Every track on this album is worth listening to (as usual with their cds). However, Abracadavers seems to steal the spotlight of this album for me. With each album, the band gains more depth; I have not been disappointed with any album they have released.

3. Old fan - New review - So I've had this album for yrs or so and The Classic Crime is most definitely one of my favorite bands. The soul and thought that they put into their music is inspiring, and this album is certainly no exception. As a whole, the album tells a story of desperation and redemption, beginning from the first song and ending at the last. Each song on it's own also tells a beautiful story with honest, raw, thought-provoking words. Individually or together, the songs are all top notch. My favorites are "Salt In the Snow" and "The Beginning (A Seed)." You can't go wrong with this album.

4. New fan - I was first introduced to The Classic Crime with their Phoenix album. What a vast difference! I love Phoenix, but there's a certain grit to this album that has me hooked. My favorite song is Grave Digging because I come from a heavy s metal background. To hear the guitar solo after only ever hearing Phoenix era Classic Crime was a true eye opener. 's / piano rhythm is excellent and really shows that great songs can be written in something other than /! I'll leave the in depth review to long time fans that know the band better. If you are looking for something refreshing in the vast world of Rock, you will not be disappointed by this album.

1. Nothing is really grabbing my attention this time.... - I will try to listen to this album here(for a while) to see if anything strikes me as great, maybe I will grow to love it. Nothing is really sticking with me or very interesting after listening to the album three times thus far. A few good clever lines here and there.
I have been a huge fan of these guys since in the "Buckle" era. Still put on an awesome show and have top shelf musicianship for sure. The are also very nice/approachable guys to hang with after the show. The last album was outstanding, but this is the worst album of the four they have made so far.

2. How American music should be. - It’s hard to find an all around good album these days. Lessons is one of those rare albums that pulls you in and doesn’t let go. Combining the elements of heartland rock, blues, indie, and folk, every song is seeping with passion and Ozark country soul. Ha Ha Tonka is a great band and this is their best album by far. I respect these guys for not giving up on making real music when so many American artist have. It is worth buying the whole album. Near Perfect...

1. Incredible Diverse and Educational Album - I appreciate the thought, effort, creativity and generosity that went into creating this album by the More Perfect team and all of the contributing artists. I’ve never had much of an interest, understanding, or even awareness of the amendments. The album and More Perfect season of liner notes opened my eyes to want to learn more. And the songs are amazing to boot! What an incredibly diverse group of artists with such interesting takes on each amendment.

1. This is like a retrospective on M...OAM? - This album has a bit of everything that they’ve done over the years. From The surf-punk of Made from Technetium and Experiment Zero to the synth/space vortex of Eviac and Spectrum of Infinite Scale, there’s a little bit of all their best sounds on this album, sometimes even on the same track. One thing that’s missed: the samples of old sci-fi movies and info recordings that made their early stuff so strange and fun. It may be simply that there’s too much overhead risk now on using such samples, but it is sad to not hear even one. On the other hand, StarCrunch is still StarCrunch. Maximum-set later tremolo picking and all. Birdstuff smashes his kit into your brain just for kicks. And Coco the Electronic Monkey Wizard keeps the low end strapped down. The new member, Avona Nova, adds an extra guitar layer and it’s quite useful. Overall, not many disappointments, and if you’re not a long-time M..OAM? listener, you won’t pick up on any of the stuff I thought was omitted. You’ll just enjoy it. Good (but not great) Man...or Astro-Man? album.

2. Check, Check, Check - I'm looking forward to seeing MoA-M? this June in Boston. Apparently, they picked up on American-English before returning to Earth because there is a higher percentage of tracks with vocals on this release than in past ones. Communication Breakdown Part II is a standout that is in heavy rotation in my earbuds.

1. Smooth and feels good - This album is exactly what the title says, a breath of that good fresh air! With the previous albums we can definitely say that this is indeed a great step in the right direction for HOMESHAKE. With the feel good and smooth sound we get all around the album you definitely need to play this on that relaxing evening. This album features smooth rhythms and edgy strings, and vocals that will just soothe the soul. Overall this is a album all must check out!

2. One of those albums... - Tunes like an Eames chair: cohese and unique but comfy and sleek. Didn't even mean to rhyme there. That type of thing just happens when this stuff is on... Bump it front to back at a party. And there are these speckled-in sounds I haven't heard since music class in elementary school. Watch out for "Serious." One of those songs that comes on and ends up getting stopped / of the way through cuz you broke something in the dining room rocking out too hard.

3. Smooth - This album's definitely a breath of Fresh Air. It feels like a mixture of his prior works, In The Shower and Midnight Snack. It's so chill, smooth, and delightfully seductive in some ways. I think it's Peter expanding and getting better and better with each album. Fantastic work. I enjoy his work more than Mac DeMarco's; it feels less gimmicky. I definitely love his approach to R&B with subtle synthpop.

1. A Rollicking Good Time. Bravo! - Moxie Bravo is the most fun album I've heard in years. My record collection would be incomplete without it, now that I know what I'd be missing! Seriously, these guys will brighten your day. Intelligent music that blurs the lines between punk and indie-pop, and melodies that you'll be singing along to before the first listen is over.

1. Worth the wait - I've loved Nick as a part of Spill Canvas and if you love his band this album doesn't disappoint. It's very reminiscent of past songs with a new kick. Nick Thomas is one of my favorite lyricists and the lyrics are just as on point as the melodies and music. I helped fund this album and the wait was well worth it.. I can't stop listening. Stand out tracks: Honest, Special Kind
