1. Such a masterpiece - Listening to ”Bullets and Blood” in The Secret History of Hollywood has been an utterly mesmerising trip to undertake. Starting with the story of how the Warner Brothers created their movie empire it crosses subjects such as the crude realities of war, the mafia, the nastiness of men in power and the sweetness of true love. Alternately terrifying, funny and truly heartbreaking it always rings true. You come to know and care for the people who made the movie industry or were somehow associated with those who did. In some cases, like with James Cagney, you discover a man you love and wish you had paid more attention to while they were still around. This Attaboy Clarence Podcast is an epic audio voyage and deserves to be spotlighted. Full of subtleties, atmosphere and emotion it runs the closest I have found to a film, on audio, and all this with just one voice...incredible but true. Thanks for all your hard work...Attaboy Clarence!

Bello ma troppo discontinuo - Gran bel podcast, il narratore ha uno stile diretto e non si perde in chiacchiere superflue, non si limita a riassumere le sinossi dei film ma racconta anche background e dinamiche legate ai percorsi di produzione dietro il grande disegno Marvel in generale e ad ogni singolo installment in particolare. Molto utile per me che, per esempio, non ho seguito la Marvel dall’inizio e non sapevo come approcciarne l’ormai titanica produzione. A volte, per condensare le tantissime informazioni entro il minutaggio (modesto) del singolo episodio, il narratore parla ad una velocità tipo x, come per esempio la puntata dedicata al primo Avengers: ho dovuto interrompere a metà perché mi girava la testa e non riuscivo a stare dietro a tutte le informazioni - abbastanza complesse per me che non conosco i fumetti, i nomi di tutti i personaggi ecc. ma il difetto vero che voglio segnalare è la frequenza del podcast: le puntate escono infatti con una frequenza randomica, il che è un problema perché se passano tre settimane fra una puntata e l’altra, alla lunga, si perde il filo del discorso e quindi si perde interesse: l’autore del podcast fa un racconto lineare che cresce da episodio a episodio, spiegando le logiche produttive e le strategie di marketing che legano i film fra di loro, ma se passa troppo tempo fra un episodio e l’altro il rischio è che l’ascoltatore si dimentichi le puntate precedenti e dunque il podcast di per sé perde attrattiva. Spero qualcuno dall’altra parte voglia riflettere su questo.
