1. One book about climate science to read and understand . . . - What this book does well is it gives a basic overview of climate science in a way the average reader can understand, and allows us to think about the subject more effectively in order to make informed decisions with great care about the future of Earth.

2. Compelling, rigorous, highly informative - A science-based dissection of how popular science and media, “The “Science,” so drastically and
misleadingly depart from the actual science they purport to represent. From one of America’s leading and most fearless scientists. Utterly without polemics or hyperbole, Dr. Koonin shows through detailed analysis how the complex and imperfect climate models and data underlying UN and US reports do not support the Consensus among politicians and climate scientists that mere mortals may not challenge. A must read for any non-scientists serious about truly understanding the state and reliability of climate science and projections.

3. Masterpiece - For years now if you question even one wildest predictions about climate change you’re thought of as a knuckle-dragging, Trump-supporting climate change denier. Koonin is not a climate change denier, but he is a disciplined scientist who is not afraid to look at the data and provide meaningful insight into the problem of man-made climate change and what to do about it. Given that our global leaders are poised to spend trillions of dollars and in the process, change the quality of life on the planet, the least we can do is listen to Koonan and the science.

1. Beginning lags - The writing in this book is acceptable.
Much of the beginning is in first person, and heavy biases of this author are sprinkled throughout the book. Some of the writing is I skimmed through a lot of was bone discovery writing which was often dull, finding that I just wanted him to skip the fluff and just keep the good stuff. There is a good part where he talks about finding sauropod tracks in Europe. He argues that previously dinosaurs were seen as stupid, stating they weren’t actually so primitive, yet says later that many ornithischians were incredibly dumb animals, unlike the super King T. Rex. That said, this book shines in it’s gripping detail of certain descriptions and the author’s extensive knowledge in dinosaurs.
I can say I learned a lot of names of dinosaurs I never saw before.
Overall, one of the better dinosaur books and worth getting if you like learning about dinosaurs.

2. This book about dinosaurs seems well thought out - This book about dinosaurs seems well thought out and detailed, with just the right amount of technical jargon but still allows the reader to get immersed in the history of dinosaurs (and their cousins, etc). Please enjoy as I have, and I also will enjoy finishing this informative guide to the earth’s past...

1. The Wild Trees - I purchased this book because it was written by Mr Preston. I have enjoyed all of the books I've read which were written by him. I quickly read the description and assumed this book was fiction and about people who lived in trees. I was wrong. This book is much more complex, and absolutely factual. From the beginning to the end it was interesting and exhilarating. It was a real page turner. I accidentally learned many facts while thoroughly enjoying this exciting story. I highly recommend this book.

2. Mind blowing - Preston is truly the master of narrative non-fiction, breaking down and building up mind blowing concepts from the tiniest indiscriminate hot viruses to foot ancient trees with oceanic plankton living in their crowns. Each book teaches me something new and this is one of his best works.

3. One of My All-Time Favorites - I love Preston's style of creative non-fiction, he can make just about anything interesting. This book was no different. He told the tale of the hunt for the world's largest trees, from the dawn of the movement to the present day. His descriptions are truly lovely, I couldn't put this book down.

1. Short and insightful - This short story essentially asks why we are not doing enough to solve the climate crisis despite knowing it is coming. It also questions some essentially arbitrary statistics dogmas about significance levels, ie why we put so much weight on % significance levels, and the idea that success is based on GDP. The fallacy that all regulation or government control is intrinsically bad and that the free market is the solution are exposed as logical fallacies. It is salutory to realize that as far back in , science was concerned about the west Antarctic ice shelf disintegrating.

2. Fascinating and frightening - Actually more of a Syfy thesis rather than a book but far from a quick read. If you buy this in electronic format and I recommend that you do, you’ll find yourself following links to the factual information that supports the authors views from the future. Before reading this I would have told you I was a Climate Change Agnostic somewhere between the extremes of Climate Change Deniers and Climate Change Alarmist. I am now a believer and keenly concerned for a future that, at my age, I am unlikely to see. No matter where you think you stand on the issue of Climate Change, I’d highly recommend this book before you engage in even one more conversation on the topic.

1. Infinitely Digestible - Mr. Owen does an extraordinary job of making one of the most complex and potentially terrifying subjects of modern life infinitely digestible. His ability to find humor in some truly desperate situations is a credit to his journalistic roots. The resource section at the end of the book supplies ample additional sources for further understanding. I cannot recommend this book highly enough to EVERYONE, because the availability of healthy water literally does effect EVERYONE!

1. Save your Money - Aside from being sheer fraud. The writer fails to identify any favorable motive as to why anyone would spread false information about AGW where as fossilized energy companies stand to gain a lot if they can successfully pull the wool over your eyes. Figures can lie and liars can figure as well.
