1. Weight Loss Bowls - Got this for $. and glad it wasn’t more. Deceptive advertising. A chart to plan you bowls and a calorie plan. Ok! But no index of bowls so every day you’d need to go thru to plan. Also, a high portion are fish. Does description say “ mostly dais” or “ highly spicy” ? Nope. / of these recipes, with fish and excess spices? I’d be really ill. I’d give it zero stars if I could

1. Fantastic - As a diabetic myself, this collection of savvy sustenance serves as a spectacle into the world of healthy dieting. Shasta’s unmatched creativity, wonderfully illustrated in his Red Thai Curry recipe, for example, presents me with a sort of mystery, giving each attempted recipe an exhilarating feel, and every successful attempt an even larger sense of reward. I view this culinary masterpiece with the utmost respect, and I highly recommend it for diabetics and food-lovers everywhere.

2. Southwestern Recipes that are Diabetic-Friendly and Taste Great - Southwestern foods are comfort foods to my family. I was delighted to see recipes with healthy diabetic-friendly substitutions in recipes for Breakfast Burrito with Spinach and Black Bean Salsa, Extra-Loaded Nachos Supreme, Southwest Stuffed Red Bell Pepper and five more Southwestern recipes that are just as good.

3. Diabetic Deathbook - In the light of the numerous health reports that come at daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly i cannot understand how someone could pass this off as health cookbook. For someone suffering from diabetes the last thing you should still be doing is consuming these fatty, and salty foods even if they are low fat low salt. The only thing I found useful was how to preserve your fresh herbs but aside from that this read was hard for me and even harder on a diabetics nervous system if he trys these recipes.

4. So many recipes none worthwhile - So many recipes none worthwhile i cannot stress this point enough. The diabetic Cookbook needs to do their homework because they actually suggested aspartame as a supplement for regular sugar. This is mind boggling since so much information has come out on the debilitating effects of such a substance. Besides that if you are a diabetic the last thing you need to be introducing to your body system is meats, or chesses, these all continue on the process of the diabetic circumstance that you'vebeen plagued with. Bottom line anyone on a SAD (Standard American DIet) would love this book but i will never give this as worthwhile text for some with diabetes.

5. Fantastic range of Recipes - Family Favs and Treats! - I was really impressed with the range of recipes modified in this book so everyday families could include them without having to make something extra special for the diabetic in the family. A little difficult for anyone wanting to avoid non fat, asparatame and cow dairy but there are LOTs of recipes to check out and receive inspiration on how to make changes for a healthy you.

6. Helped Me Not To Have To Give Up Foods I Loved! - The shock of being told to reduce my sugar intake forced me to make some changes in the kitchen. I didn’t want to have to give up the things I liked, and this book gave me amazing reduced-sugar and low-fat recipes for everyday foods that I have always loved. It has lots of recipes for soups, breakfasts, entertaining, main meals, fancier international entrees and appetizers, vegan meals (for when my daughter visits) and even desserts. I am very excited that this one book has given me so much to experiment with.

7. Simple and Delicious - I loved this book! Before this book I was very wary about eating diabetic meals throughout the day. I thought it would be bland or bitter, but this book proved me wrong! The recipes in this book really do make you want to eat diabetic food. They give you the food statistics with each different recipe including sugars, carbohydrates and fiber. This really helped me slowly get off regular fast food and on par with healthy foods. I am impressed with how well the recipes are and can't wait to try another.

8. Mindful Cooking - This book helped me to learn another added benefit for dieters. It's that eating smaller portions throughout the day is proven to keep blood sugar levels steady. That means less cravings,night-time binges and not feeling completely drained while trying to lose or maintain your weight. The book also made me rediscover couscous which was a childhood favorite of mine.

9. For Diabetics and Others Looking for Healthier Versions of Traditional Favorites - The Diabetic Cookbook puts a healthier, diabetic spin on traditional favorite appetizers, such as sliders and buffalo wings, and deviled eggs as well as traditional meal favorites like macaroni and cheese, spaghetti Bolognese, tuna casserole, and beef stroganoff. In addition to new approaches to old favorites, the book also offers lifestyle and food storage tips, a list of suitable sugar substitutions, and kitchen tool recommendations.

10. Healthy and easy - This title captured my attention not because I have diabetes, but because I love to cook for friends and family. Coincidently, numerous of those people I love to cook for is battling diabetes. This book contains some classic and easy to follow recipes. What I love even more about it was that it has recipes for not only main meals but also snacks, desserts, and even vegetarian dishes. So, everyone can be included and no one will have to sit out. I cannot wait to try out these recipes and serve them to my loved ones.

11. Serve up love with these warm and filling recipes - Even for the non-diabetics like myself, this book delivers. I've adopted a low sugar diet to chase off the likelihood of catching this family disease. The absence of sugar will be far from your mind with these meals that include many 's era American standards. I'm talking Tuna Melt, homemade potato chip deliciousness. The entire soup section is packed with protein and mouth watering flavour.

12. Good intro info and recipe book for diabetics - I was impressed with how many easy-to-make recipes were in this book. No doubt, this is a cornerstone in my kitchen now! However, since this recipe book focuses on diabetic health, I was highly skeptical of the nutritional information. Many sugar substitutes can have harmful side effects, but this book doesn't divulge such information. Organic foods should be pressed for diabetics, as they have no processing and so take longer to digest, thus helping glucose regulation better. That aside, this is an excellent recipe book for anyone, not just diabetics!

1. Just Another Diet - I love Hungry Girl (Lisa). But this book is just another diet. It's so restrictive that and there's so much white knuckling that you'd be left clueless after being done with this diet! I lost over pounds over the course of a year and I made a lifestyle change. This book is no way a lifestyle change. There are good recipes in this and you can use this while doing another diet, so there's the upside.
2014-05-24
2. A diet for truly hungry people!!! - The Hungry Girl Diet is truly for hungry girls! I actually found it difficult, impossible at times, to eat ALL of the food allotted each day! Now that is a great “diet”!
While a lot of the information seems obvious (don’t drink your calories, eat a LOT of veggies, etc.), there are some incredible tricks that make it seem like you are cheating. An example is the fettuccine alfredo made primarily from Laughing Cow cheese wedges, a dish that clocks in around calories yet tastes like it’s easily as rich and creamy as the real deal for four times the calories. For this recipe alone, I’ll be eternally grateful!
The plan and recipes are simple and incredibly delicious. Best of all, even making some adjustments to the plan (I have an occasional glass of wine, I use whole eggs instead of egg whites) I have already lost five pounds in the first week. If you want to eat good, easy to prepare food, yet still lose weight, grab this book right now!

3. Love the info in here - Downloaded the app and set up a weeks worth of meals. Loved the hints and alternatives presented to prevent boredom in meals. The plan looks healthy, lots of veggies, healthy proteins, options for dairy and fruit, healthy carbs via oatmeal and fruits etc. Some of the recipes may appear in other books but there are definite variations on them. This book with the app is so worth it.

1. Amazing Plant Strong cookbook! - My husband and I have been eating plant strong for about two years. I ordered this cookbook before it was available knowing it would be just what I was hoping for. It turned out to be that and even more! The recipes are all fairly simple, straightforward, use ingredients that you typically have on hand and the best part is everything has turned out absolutely delicious! I have been using this cookbook for almost a year now since it was available. I have made many of the recipes but still have many more to go. This is something I truly look forward to! Thank you Ann and Jane Esselstyn for your effort to make this book possible. Many thanks and please consider doing another book in the future.

1. Personalized Cookbook, type A - I have read two other Blood Type books and decided to get the accompanying recipe book. I think this is only helpful if you live in the US. Where I live many foods listed in the book are seasonal, ground turkey is unavailable. There aren’t many legume main recipes. If you’re a foodie and able to cook most recipes are so basic you could do them blindfolded, the mains will give you culinary ennui just reading them. Very limited and disappointing.

1. More Than A Cookbook -Timely And Well Written Guide To The Dash Diet!! - Nutrition experts at “World News and World Report” have named the Dash diet the healthiest and best diet for five years in a row. Not only is that excellent news, but one has to want to know more.
In researching more about the Dash diet I came across this amazing book. As someone who deals with high blood pressure and not wanting to take pills to control it, I knew there had to be another way. I love that this is more than a cookbook. Which that alone is great with over fifty recipes, but the author takes it further giving us an excellent description of what the Dash diet is, the foods to eat as well as portion sizes, a grocery list and what seasonings to use. Amazingly all this info is before you get to the recipes! The recipes are simple and easy that are great tasting too. Overall a very comprehensive guide, but great on detail. Timely and well written guide to the Dash diet that I highly recommend.
