1. Interesting chants... - Compilation holds a lot of trivia in it and thats not about the brilliant music. Kandisa, the title song, is sung in Aramaic, language spoken by Assyrians during time of Jesus Christ. Inspired from prayer in Syrian chuch this one is top song of the album. Ma Rewa is a tribute to river Narmada, which according to tales is considered to be the river that purifies Ganga every year. In short brilliant lyrics combined with awesome music. Worth every penny.

2. The best band to come out of India - Writing a review about Indian Ocean - and specifically about their best album isnt easy. Because Indian Ocean's music isnt easily categorizable into a known genre. Indian Ocean is a band out of New Delhi, India and over the years have built a niche, fanatical fan following. Their music can be best categorized as a passionate extrapolation of Jazz, Rock, Indian Classical, Indian Ethnic put together over lyrics in every imaginable language. The track Khandisa for e.g. is sung in Aramaic - the language of Jesus Christ. Ma Rewa - is a song about the river Narmada in India - again sung in a tribal dialect. characters is too less to describe their music. Actually words sometimes are inadequate. If you want to sample an album where every track - and I mean it - every track moves you from within -spend the $. to buy this album. I have very eclectic taste in music - ranging from blues, rock, world, hip-hop, classical (both Indian and western) - and I can safely say - there isnt a better album I have heard in my years. Susmit's guitar and Aseem's vocals will weave you into this world - a world far away - a world away from the daily mundane. Buy it! And I know you'll buy the other albums on your own.

2. Phenomenal Album!!! One of the best ever - Chup is a great album, one of my all time favorites. I love Chup, the song, and the horn playing. It is a truly amazing song. Paimana Bitte is perhaps the best song in the album, the one most people seem to like. While l like Paimana Bitte, I love Chal Diye and Ahaan a lot as well. They are great songs which showcase Zeb's awesome voice. What is truly amazing about Zeb and Haniya is their breadth and diversity. Whereas as most artists only have one or two styles, Zeb and Haniya have varied and eclectic sounds, each and every one wonderful. Rona Chor Diya is completely different from the other songs and an awesome rock song reminiciscent of rhythm and blues. Yet different still Aitebar is a bluesy, jazz number. No matter what stlye you like, it is hard not to enjoy this album. I have been listening to it for six months and still rediscovering some of the songs. It continues to grow on me. Most of the music nowadays is trite and unoriginal, which you grow tired of after listening once or twice. In contrast, .Zeb and Haniya's songs are not only truly original, eclectic but also enjoyable and fun.

1. Desert Rain - Indian Ocean has its unique voice, rhythm and beat. I saw them live in Washington D.C. and felt why they are considered the greatest band from India. Played loud or soft you’ll enjoy the experience. I especially like the electric bass and folk tabla jazz-folk mix, which captures Rahul’s distinctive bass lines, like a torrent over river stones. Their music has an intensity that is riveting.

1. Beautiful voice...lovely songs - For those looking for a change from standard Bollywood fare, this is a refreshing album. Sona has a versatile voice and sings like she's really enjoying herself. Ram Sampath has provided a nice mix of soft pop, rock and Indian tunes. Favorite song: Abhi Na Aana is a must listen.

1. Great band and original music - This band is in my list of undervalued bands. They have produced very original music over the years and Ma Rewa and Khandisa being some their best work. Their music has an Indian folk touch and a good mixture of common Indian instruments making their creations very pleasing and calming. This album bundles all the good hits of Indian Ocean and has no mediocre tune. A must buy for fusion-folk-instrumental fans.

1. Above Average Outing - Kattey and Sundari Komola are the standouts. Bhanvari Devi with Hard Kaur make for a potent combination and will make you want to loop this song. Nice edgy stuff. Sona Mohapatra numbers are so so this time around, Dum Dum Andar was a easy choice - Runa Laila throwback, could be avoided. The carnatic experiments were interesting.

Stellar - Amit Trivedi is a gem of a composer - the next gen after Rahman - it's fun to watch how many new instruments he incorporates and tries new styles - although this is less adventurous compared to some of his other work. The lyrics are nothing to write home about, almost letting down the compositions on some songs - above average.

1. A good Lucky Album - Though this album doesn’t stand in the same league as Sunoh and Sifar, this album still has some really good songs. To his credit, Luck Ali did not attempt to do the same kind of music from the past. The music is different, yet the songs still have the soulfulness that is typical of lucky ali music. Some of the less known songs from this album are great as well. Will definitely recommend for all Indipop fans.
