1. Spinn around the world! - It is truly a treat to follow Anita Martines Beijer on her journey across the globe. To visit exciting citys, colourful homes and hospitable people. To be inspired by their stories and their interiors. Most inspiring of all however is Anita herself. To set out on such a quest to evolve as an interior designer and homeowner and to search for the real mening of home is mind blowing. And to singlehandedly organise the whole trip, interview the homeowners, take interior photos, portraits, write, edit, design and publish a book like this is well amazing. I sincere hope that I one day have the same courage and drive. If you have not yet read the book, hurry! It might change the way you perceive a home or at least give you many new decorating ideas!

2. Home Life Around the World - A beautiful, colourful exploration of homes, and the sense of home, in Southeast Asia, South Africa and the Americas from Argentina to New York. While the subjects of the book are often designers themselves, the writer has focused more on questions of who are you, what inspires you and what do you think makes a house a home.

3. Home life around the world - Anita Martinez Beijer invites us on a trip around the world to meet people and to see their homes, coloured by their environment and their culture. You meet them through her words and warm stories of their lives, but even more so through the beautiful photos of the worlds they have build around themselves in their homes. And sometimes you even meet the ghosts of the former residents… This is a book that you won’t finish. It lingers with you and whenever you revisit its pages, it feels like meeting old friends again – and getting new inspiration from them each time.

4. Home Life Around the World - This is interior decoration with a twist. Two twists actually. An interior designer from Sweden (yes, she seems to have worked for IKEA) has travelled the world - Africa, America and Asia - to find the homes she describes in this gorgeous volume. I found both the differences and the similarities interesting. Second twist: her aim is not to present homes that conform to a particular style or aesthetic, but homes that express the personalities of their owners. And an interesting bunch of creative people they are, who share their thoughts on life and on the role played by their homes. The photography is arresting. The texts are interesting. Definitely worth a look if you are interested in people - and their homes.
