1. Voorspelbaar - Wat een voorspelbaar verhaal. Zodra de ongenodigde gasten uit de toekomst komen kun je praktisch het hele verhaal al voorspellen. En dan ook nog geschreven in een kinderlijke stijl waar de tranen van in je ogen springen. Niet spannend, voorspelbaar verhaallijn, saai science ficton element en de feelgood romance was ook een beetje cheesy.

2. Mantel weet opnieuw te boeien - De ongenode gast is een ander soort verhaal dan De onthoofde stad, maar opnieuw kon ik m'n iPad niet wegleggen… Dit boek is korter dan het vorige maar opnieuw verrassend. De maatschappij kritische blik van mensen die terugkijken op deze tijd kan ik absoluut waarderen. Leuk om te weten dat de veelzijdige schrijver Mantel gewoon een Nederlandse auteur is. Vertaalde titels zijn er al genoeg.

3. Leest makkelijk weg maar...... - Vergeleken met de onthoofde stad is dit wel een beetje erg flauw. Als je van fictie die echt onmogelijk is houdt zit je hiermee goed. Ondanks dat het makkelijk weg leest is het niet spannend en soms tegen het saaie aan. Ik hoop dat de auteur snel weer inspiratie krijgt voor een boek á la de onthoofde stad want dat vind ik echt een aanrader.

4. De ongenode gast - 'De ongenode gast' is een spannend verhaal dat je in een middag uitleest maar dat je lang zal bijblijven. De hoofdpersoon Brenda wordt door mensen uit de toekomst gebruikt en ze wordt verliefd op een van de mannen uit de toekomst. Hoe moet dat nou? Lees 'De onthoofde stad' en beleef de spanning!

1. Bolbliksem... - Ik ben met dit verhaaltje van bladzijden begonnen, eigenlijk met het idee het de volgende dag uit te lezen. Dit omdat een uur erna mijn wekker weer ging. 2. Opnieuw een verrassend verhaal - Ook dit verhaal van Mantel is leuk om te lezen. Borduurt een beetje voort op De ongenode gast. Spannend, kort verhaal met een beetje science fiction. Mantel is een uitstekend verteller die zelfs blijft boeien wanneer het om een onderwerp gaat dat je normaal misschien niet zou aanspreken….
